Thanks for giving my home park some attention! I had 30 rides on Shivering Timbers in the last week. One yesterday was in pouring rain, probably the fastest it's ever run for me. I see some comments about it being rough... There are a couple rough spots, on the way up the first two camelbacks. If you aren't in a wheel seat they aren't too bad, but they can sometimes be brutal. I recommend odd numbered rows and the blue train for the smoothest ride. A lot of people say front row is smoothest, but oddly I find it is row 9. The airtime is still good but the laterals are a little weaker in that row. Row 3 is pretty special too, airtime is great and the laterals are extra strong for some reason, especially the second half of the helix.
I had my only 3 rides on it that same day. I had a rain ride, but the heaviest rain seemed to be falling when i was still waiting in the station. It was my best ride of the 3 and I rode in the second to last row. I returned around 4:30 for 2 consecutive rides. One in the the middle of the train in a wheel seat ( probably about row 6) and I felt a huge pot hole in the pull out of the first drop. I followed that up with a front row ride that I also thought was solid, but just not quite as good as the earlier ride in the back. You're lucky to have this coaster in your home park!
Thanks for the feedback! We get season passes to mi adventures every year for the past 3 years now. My daughter is just 48in and trying to figure the smoothest ride on shivering timbers, i haven’t rode that one since 2017. The park is awesome for what it is!!
Omg thank you for showing my home town amusement park I love it there I went there last month ago with my family it was soo fun cause I went on some roller coasters but because it closed at 7 and the water park closed at 5 I couldn’t go on all but the Grand Rapids one I was born there😂. I went on Shivering Timbers which was so scary but fun and then wolverine wildcat and corkscrew 😊
My first of a roller coaster was shivering timbers I loved it and tomorrow I’m going to Michigan aventures again around noon. I’m so excited and call me when I have not been on his corkscrew and my mouse.❤😮
Thunderhawk was actually my favorite coaster at the park. Back row was smooth and forceful, and was fun all around. Wildcat gave a fun and comfortable enough ride and came in at number 2. Shivering Timbers landed at 3, with my back row ride being one of the roughest rides I have ever experienced
@@CanobieCoaster with the three I have ridden so far (Nopuko, T3, and this) I have had much better experiences in the back. Plus, these OTSRs didn't bother me as much as Nopuko or T3 thighcrush did. I definitely want to try Great NorEaster at some point!
Your rankings are so awesome! Michigan’s Adventure looks pretty underrated. My home park is Kings Island, so I know how good Cedar Fair can be. Surely this park can’t be that bad!
Yay!!! I was waiting for a Michigan's Adventure Countdown. While MI's in my state, due to location (near Detroit) Cedar Point is my home park. I think Michigan's Adventure is well maintained and a beauty. Shivering Timbers is a thing of beauty. My dream is for them to add another coaster standout to give them a 1-2 punch to make it a true destination, something not found at Great America or Cedar Point, like an RMC single-rail (even though, its rumored that Great America's getting one in 2024), a Mack Launch, or an S & S El Loco, or even a Chance Hyper GTX like Lightning Run, but I know, I know, it's Michigan's Adventure and we'll get a new umbrella or 2 for the benches. Great video. I like this peaceful park. Great area for herping for reptiles too, if you enjoy looking for snakes and turtles near the area at a park or near the lake
I rode Wolverine Wildcat once and it was super shaky and gave me a headache, and I thought Thunderhawk was actually really smooth, but I agree with a lot of the list!
Hydro Blaster really confused me when I saw it open, considering I went on a day when the waterpark was closed. I didn't realize it was those "dry" waterslides. The ones at Bell's were drenching. I didn't ride the ones at Michigans Adventure, since it was cloudy & in the 70s. Thunderhawk is my # 5. Wolverine Wildcat is by far my 2nd favorite in the park. It was delivering airtime almost as good as Shivering Timbers, so I kept going back & forth, and the ride ops were having so much fun with the guests.
Nice video ! The only cedar fair park I haven’t visited, so I don’t have opinions. But Shivering Timbers has a great reputation and I look forward to riding.
See: Thunderhawk Mad Mouse Corkscrew Wolverine Wildcat Shivering Timbers So how would you compare those five coasters at Michigan's Adventure in terms of intensity, pacing, and smoothness?
We all know this park seriously needs more Cedar Fair attention. Obviously we will admit, Slivering Timbers is REALLY good, but after that, its one of the biggest drop offs ever. I wont be surprised if almost all enthusiasts go here just for Slivering Timbers and get the rest of the credits once and leave. Maybe fixing up an attraction or adding one, for example, the corkscrew is old and if its forcelss, the nthey should take it out and this park really could use a drop tower.
On my one trip in 2019 I rode all the coasters (except Big Dipper) and Thunderhawk was easily my number 2. I thought Wolverine Wildcat was kinda boring (and had the longest line since it only has one train). Mad Mouse is definitely one of the best mouse coasters. I just found Thunderhawk to be incredibly smooth for an SLC and it showcases the strength of the layout for an SLC. I haven't ridden Riddler Revenge or Great Nor'Easter but I think Thunderhawk is the best SLC that hasn't been modified. Shivering Timbers feels like if there was a wooden version of Magnum XL 200. Those ejector hills try and put you in the parking lot
A mile is 5280’. The coaster with the closest track length to one mile is Diamondback at 5282’. Shivering Timbers is 5383’ which is MORE than a mile of track by 101’. Both are bucket list coasters for me.
@@CanobieCoaster IT has more elements that Diamondback but not more than The Voyage, which is also a wooden coaster whereas Diamondback is a metal coaster about the pure long sustained floater airtime. That's why I list the top 3 airtime machines as 1: SV; 2: the Voyage; 3 Diamondback, with ST coming in at #4. But you're correct about ST having more elements: no argument there.
Mad Mouse is the worst of all since only one little car runs the course at a time. Wolverine Wildcat also has poor capacity since it has just one train. The others are usually fine.
shivering timbers, swan boats, sloppy joes and mixed veggies at coasters diner, and the amazing water park with my girlfriend marissa in her string bikini for hours hanging in the wave pool talking, relaxing, and riding crazy slides together. it was the life. our home park.
Michigan's Adventure isn't a trashy park. I don't know if you had the opportunity to go to Geagua Lake, but that's what Michigan's Adventure puts me in mind of. Geagua Lake had a Simple Charm to it Before Death Flags got their Poisonous Hands on It. wasn't Cedar Fair that ruined Geagua Lake. Cedar Fair did their best to restore Geagua Lake's Charm, but the damage had already been done by Death Flags. I hope Michigan's Adventure will Never Close, and will Always keep the Simple Charm it has.🎠🎡🎢❤️
oh it does don't listen to this bozo who didn't even put it on the list it's not a bad ride and i thoroughly enjoyed riding it when i still went to michigan's adventure
Arrow Thrills, you must be a masochist. T3 is is awful, even with the current harnesses. Now if you put those same harnesses on Thunderhawk, I think Canobie would have put it on the list.
T3 is highly overhated. It's not even rough, and there's no chance of headbanging. You just get some leg crushing, which I understand is a deal-breaker to some, but I'm fine with it. It is my 3rd favorite coaster at the park, but a couple non-coasters beat it out.
@@CanobieCoaster I say we steal the rides from other parks and rebuild the park one night. Just use the new shopping center they built there as the entrance and shops.
Ngl people say shivering timbers is the best I disagree it wips you head around to much I just don't like rollercoaster adrenalin I like water slides a lot more (my opinion)
Looks like a "one coaster" park, not worth it for tourists... Even if I visit the midwest, this park does not look very attractive compared to the legendary US parks
If you visit the surrounding areas like the beaches or Grand Rapids, it's a fun pit stop, but yeah if you're just on a coaster road trip it's not worth going.
@@CanobieCoaster I think you might be in the minority on that? Even reading through the comments on this video, a lot find it pretty rough, especially the first couple dips. My neck popped so bad I nearly went to the emergency room. I held off though and was able to to recover after about 4 months with the chiropractor
Sorry but I cannot agree with any list that puts Corkscrew as a top ten attraction. If Michigan's Adventure had only 10 attractions total including Corkscrew, I would do a top 9 list instead. I hate that thing as much as Canobie hates Vekoma SLCs.
I Absolutely Love Michigan's Adventure. The setting of the park reminds me So Much of Geagua Lake. This park seems to get So Much Hate from Coaster Enthusiasts. But if you look at the front entrance Facade, it looks just like the former Geagua Lake's Facade. Michigan's Adventure does have a decent collection of Rollercoasters, and Shivering Timbers is Absolutely Awesome!! It's the Blue Streak at Cedar Point on some Very Serious Steroids!! And you're right about the Corkscrew. It's very Smooth, but I don't think that the Trains are uncomfortable. I think what makes this Arrow Dynamics Rollercoaster smoother due to the fact that the inversions doesn't have the Lattice Arch Supports, allowing the track to flex more, vs to what you see on the Corkscrew at Cedar Point. The Lattice Arch Supports are very ugly, and a waste of Steel IMO. I also love the look of the Carolina Cyclone, Corkscrew at Valley Fair, and the Canyon Blaster at Adventure Dome in Las Vegas. Sorry about my small rant about the Arrow Dynamics loopers.🤣🎢❤️
