Jessie Kat Cheryl isn’t a jerk for the sake of being a jerk. From what I understand it’s a lot to do with her upbringing and how she hasn’t really been taught anything else. In my opinion she could have ended up being a lot worse.

How on earth do you relate to betty? I understand that mental health is relatable and parental pressure, but the way they chose to portray it isn't. I mean, to you, how often do you lose control and dress in sexy outfits and try murdering people? Have to solve a murder, not because you have to, because you want to? Have to hunt down your pregnant sister who is having a murdered kid's baby (but he is also secretly your third cousin)? Find out that you have a brother, who may or may not be a psychopath? Inspire a serial killer? Strip/pole dance in front of a room of older men? Never once in your life? That's what I thought. Betty sucks. And here are 10 reasons why: 10. Her face - I just hate all the dumb facial expressions she makes like a walking meme. Like yo yhey have to edit the shot to show more how Betty's face is reacting to what is happening? Take the dance-off for example, we barely get to see the dance because they keep cutting to Betty's face! 9. Bughead - I get why people ship it. But to me it is sickingly sweet, I don't care for it, too cliche, and having it forced in our faces and with so many plotlines, I am already done with it. I would much rather have Betty as an independent woman and Jughead being asexual (like the comics). 8. Her whole family is more interesting than her - I would much rather know about Alice's past with the serpents, her pregnancy, and what is going on with her now in season 2. I want to know more about Polly and her babies. Even Chic (who is in one episode) is more interesting than Betty. 7. Her entitlement to Archie's feelings in the first few episodes - She just can't except that sometimes in the real world the girl next door doesn't get the guy, that she got friendzoned. She acts like she deserves his love just cause she loves him. He kisses Veronica, oblivious to Betty's feelings, then he tells her he loves her (but not in the way she wants) and let's her down gently. But still she is entitled to his affections. She tells Veronica is episode 2, "You know, Archie and I were fine before you got here." She goes after Grundy (the right thing to do) but for all the wrong reasons. I am so glad she moves on because it was so annoying. 6. I don't like Lili Reinhart. 5. She is overrated - there doesn't need to be an explanation. She is just overrated. 4. She isn't so nice - seriously, Jughead and Archie say repeatedly she is the nicest girl, but is she really? Think about the last time Betty did anything nice for anyone? She gets angry at Veronica for kissing a single guy who rejected Betty, she hated Archie because he didn't love her, she forgives them after they kiss ass, she throughs Jughead a party (which she knows he hates) and gets upset when doesn't like it, she tries to drown a guy, she threatens to kill Cheryl, she threatens to release the video of Jason being murdered to blackmail Cheryl, and the list goes on... 3. Stealing screen time - have you noticed all the major storylines center around Betty? She is the one who decides to stick her nose into Archie's sexual abuse storyline, she decides to solve the Jason Blossom murder, she sticks her nose into Jughead's family issues, she inspires the Black Hood who becomes obsessed with her, and I assume there will be more storylines in the future for her to be the center of. Seriously, I want more screen time and storylines for Josie, Cheryl, Archie (character development), Reggie, Ethel, Toni, Sweet Pea, Kevin, etc. 2. Dark Betty - it isn't sexy, it's a mental health problem that is being romanticized by the writers and fans alike. It was horrifying when she tried to drown Chuck (he was a jerk but didn't deserve it) after she drugged him and tried to boil him while thinking she was Polly. Don't even get me started on that scene where she stripped in front of a group of grown men. That was wrong on every level. 1. She's a Mary Sue - she gets everything with no consequences. Every character must make a sacrifice in order to grow as a character, they suffer and that makes them change as a character. When Veronica realizes her family is the bad guy, when Archie's father is shot in front of him, when Cheryl fails to commit suicide and burns her house down, when Jughead's dad is arrested and he joins the serpents, but... not Betty. She just is and she never gets in trouble or called out for being horrible unlike literally every other character. She always comes out on top without suffering and therefore growing as a character. She is too perfect, she can do everything and everyone loves her for no reason. Like actually no reason.

I kinda agree with you except for the bughead (I love my bughead) and number 9 and 10 (love lili reinhart and its kinda funny with her exprecitions). But it is true she does not get consequences and her mental illness stuff. I stopped loving betty after season 1, I hope the next episodes give her charcter developmemt and the help she needs, so I can start liking her again I miss my season 1 betty

Chiara Farmer The way she moves her face doesn’t really matter because you’re supposed to be expressive and the way her face is built adds more expression to it, but I do agree that it would be cool to make Betty like a strong independent girl. But I don’t exactly think that because you don’t like the actor is a reason to dislike Betty but I do agree with some other things you said.

Cheryl was a very important character when her brothers death happened but I dont agree shes the most important anymore. Also Veronica is a important character but I think she ranks 4 or 5, top 3 characters are Betty, Jughead, and Archie the story revolves around them.

Okay no hate just my opinion. Betty does everything to be perfect and tried to help everyone because of all the pressure from her mom. And yes sometimes she can act out but tenner not only did she get her heart broken in the first episode she also has a mental illness. She wants so badly to please everyone and I relate which is why Betty is my favourite.

Rihanna And Little Mix How am I clueless? Archie (he is more grounded in reality, and as a child of divorce, I understand when he went through that, not to mention when his dad got shot) and Jughead (alcoholic father and being homeless) are the most relatable. Cheryl is the mots complex because her mean girl persona is just a front for a damaged girl who just wants to be loved. And Betty is as interesting as a sack of potatoes, the most interesting characters tend to kind be the parents (Hiram and Hermione scheming, Alice being a queen, etc)

She has a difficult family life, she's dealt with rejection, she's insecure plus she goes through a lot but still stays strong plus she has a mental illness which some people can relate to and more but I do agree with you also Archie is relatable too. But there is no way Betty isn't an interesting character.

Rihanna And Little Mix I agree mental illness is something very relatable and real, but unlike shows like Shameless US, they play her mental illness off as a sexy dark side as an excuse for her to do "badass" things like try to drown a guy and strip in front of middle-aged men. And she takes medication for her ADHD, that's confirmed. So her mental illness storyline is more offensive than relatable.

Why though? She may be your favorite character or whatever but this list is about who are the most IMPORTANT characters yeah sure Cheryl takes a big role on the story but only on season 1 not so much season 2, I dont agree whatsoever that shes the most important character.

WeNeedLives Productions what ruined it for me is that Betty didn't get to be a serpent since a chunk of her character is going against her parents wishes and doing what she wants, it would have been a powerful scene if the serpents even CONSIDERED making her one of them, because we could see more dark Betty and it would cause more conflict with her mom, Alice, who we really don't know much about.. It could even lead to a conversation in which Alice talks about her experiences as a serpent. Idk I think that would have been cool.
