Just recently was on mystic timber’s and personally was avoiding it but finally went on it and was amazed such a good roller coaster definitely a must do!
@@virginialane8847 Maybe you just aren’t the type of person the ride is meant for, being people who like many inversions while going fast in a small, dark room
I completely agree with flight of fear being that high in the list. The first time I rode all I could do was leave my mouth wide open, that cobra roll at the beginning was disorientating. though the ride can be rough at times, you can never go wrong with a launch ride and that corkscrew at the end was CRAZY.
There’s a lot of personal sentiment with The Beast for me, so I put it higher. But I completely understand the ranking, and trust me, a night ride is COMPLETELY different, I can’t wait for you to try it!
Someday I will make it to this park! My ideal trip for Ohio would be to hit Cedar Point for 2 days and King's Island for 1. Both excellent looking parks!
They are both great with Cedar Point of course being the creme de la creme of amusement parks. I'm in Ohio now visiting to go to both parks this weekend & I made a 4.5 hour drive to Indiana for Holiday World & Splashin Safari. It was awesome. This will be my 2nd time at Kings Island & 5th time at Cedar Point & I'm from central PA.
@@maxarnold6255 Holiday World reminded me of Knoebels in Elysburg, PA which I'm a lil under 90 minutes away from residing at the state's capital outside of admission which wasn't expensive. The park was themed beautifully & as a big holiday man myself (particularly Christmas), I took all of that in. Voyage is competing with Fury 325 as my favorite coaster all-time currently as I rode it 3x that day. The Legend, the Raven & Thunderbird were great coasters as well. The food was great, unlimited free soft drinks is a treat I'll never find at another amusement park, & the staff were friendly & seemed to enjoy their job. I will definitely plan to go back with my kids this time in the future, but being that I'm over 10 hours away, it may be a while. I've been wanting to go to Holiday World & Splashin Safari since the 2010s & it didn't disappoint me at all. The only thing I wish I did do there was the Splashin Safari Water park, but there was a threat of thunderstorm throughout the day & it came at almost 2 pm near the park's close time at 4 when I went the Friday before Memorial Day weekend.
I'll be riding Orion for the first time this year since I haven't been at Kings Island since 2017. I do remember at the time that my favorite coasters there were Diamondback, the Beast, Mystic Timbers, Banshee, & Flight of Fear. Orion will definitely be in the Top 5 after this coming Saturday.
I personally adore all of the rides that have been listed!! My first "Big kid ride" was Mystic Timbers, and boy was it an experience. It was during the fall season, and I rode it in the rain in the dark. It was super fun! The next one I rode was Racers. I always chose the blue side because I found it a lot smoother than the red side. Next would be The Beast (My mother took me on it because it was her favorite ride), and it was such a fun wooden coaster. The Stunt Coaster came not too long after the Beast, and I LOVED the helicopter and fire part the most. When I rode the beast, some of the sections of the coaster roared like an actual monster. I rode the BAT during the Halloween season, and I loved how it made my child self feel like I'm soaring through the air. Banshee, flight of Fear, Orion, and a few others were more recent rides.
@@gusalmighty5714 No way, it was one of the very best! The only downside for me is that it was kinda jerky, so it would hit my head on both sides of the bars a bit
I just gotta say. Banshee is at LEAST top 3, it’s my personal #1, but of course the list is your personal favs so I respect it. I do agree on FOF it’s extremely underrated along with several other indoor coasters
I can't wait to get back to this park. I went to KI a lot as a kid, but haven't been there since Son of Beast was there with the loop. I rode it and walked away intact, so I'm happy about that experience. I'm excited to ride Orion, Diamondback and Mystic Timbers the most. For nostalgia's sake, The Beast will always be my favorite only because it was such an accomplishment as a ten-year-old to get on that in 1984. They've added so much since I've been out there.
Riding The Beast at night is a real experience, those people telling you that know their stuff. I've ridden it over 100 times and it's still fun to me this day.
Great list. COMPLETELY agree with what you said about DB. I normally dont like B&M hypers but something about DB's airtime is so perfect. Also agree about Banshee, could be great but B&Ms newer lighter train design makes all their new coasters so rough.
Just got home after a 35 yr gap. Lotta nostalgia at first, rainy 2 hrs hiding in a cabana, then NO wait for anything. So my fabulous girlfriend and I hit all the waterslides. The trap door, zero gravity body slide was better than 3 cups of coffee! HFS that drop! After the weather passed we had done all the slides (head first one overated) & went coaster with NO LINES!! While day walking straight to the car. At 52! ORION ! HFS!HFS! WOW! 36 years & Kings Island still delivered. Snaps.
KI is my home park so I know it’s lineup extremely well my top 10 is 1 Orion 2 Diamondback 3 Banshee 4 Mystic 5 Beast 6 Flight Of Fear 7 Bat 8 Racer 9 Backlot 10 Invertigo
Banshee is my favorite ride literally insane I cant take the super high coasters so I like banshee and flight of fear :( used to be vortex I wish they just remixed it instead of removing it rip.
Watched your top 15 then this and: ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!? Just kidding. Although I disagree with some, i'm so happy to see someone with his own opinions, even if it upsets the enthusiasts gods lol. Cool video.
Really interesting but good list! I actually think The Racer is like 9th best in the park for me lol...but this park is one of the only parks I've been to that I find hard to choose which the best coaster in the park is..but it's between Mystic Diamondback and Orion for sure.cant go wrong at all
Going back to Kings Island for the first time since the 90's(as a kid). I remember they used to run on of the racer cars backwards, I was to little then and to scared to ride it. My first roller coaster was adventure express and I remember loving the Top Gun(Bat) roller coater, one of my first fav's until I rode the Raptor at Cedar Point.
Okay, i hate to be "that guy" (idk what stereotype) but The Racer *did* get a re-tracking for the 2021 season and I personally think it served it really well. Only the turns are mildly rattly.
I've never been to this park unfortunately but these are going to be my predictions on which coasters I will like the most. 10. Adventure Express 9. Backlot Stunt Coaster 8. Racer 7. Flight of Fear 6. Bat 5. Beast 4. Banshee 3. Orion 2. Mystic Timbers 1. Diamondback
KI is my home park! I grew up an hour away, so I went most summers growing up! 12. Invertigo 11. Adventure Express 10. Backlot Stunt Coaster 9. Bat 8. Racer 7. Vortex 6. Flight of Fear 5. Beast 4. Mystic Timbers 3. Banshee 2. Orion 1. Diamondback
Haven’t been to KI since 2014…going back this year. Can’t wait to ride Orion. And also Diamondback has been my number 1 coaster ever since I rode it in 2014. Hope it still stacks up for me! Also excited for mystic Timber’s - it doesn’t look like much to me but from all the rave reviews I’m definitely hyped for it.
I was with you until I saw that Flight of Fear was ranked higher than Banshee. Diamondback has always been my favorite but Orion is really close to being as good as Diamondback.
My favorite coaster there is The Beast followed by Banshee, The Bat, Firehawk (R.I.P.), Diamondback, Flight of Fear, Backlot Stunt Coaster, Adventure Express, The Racer, Vortex (R.I.P.), and Invertigo. I haven't been on Mystic Timbers or Orion yet.
1. Orion (airtime is fantastic especially at the speed; Rows 4 and back on right side of train is best) 2. Diamondback (close second; setting is awesome; has rattle after turnaround) 3. Banshee (agree it's better towards front - less rattle) 4. The Beast (helix is as good as ever; would be better if brakes weren't applied after second turn as it removes speed through next tunnel but understand why they now do this due to train sequencing; still best night ride in the park - you will rank it higher after a night ride) 5. Mystic Timbers (would be higher if ride was longer; rankings 3-5 are pretty equal for me) 6. Outer Limits (Flight of Fear; much better after they removed head restraints in early 2000s - you'd literally get a concussion when this originally opened when they also ran it in pitch black darkness) 7. Face Off (Invertigo) - agree this can beat you up, but I like the fact that you go backwards and find it a fitting replacement for Screamin' Demon which was removed in 1987. 8. Top Gun (The Bat) 9. Italian Job (Backlot Stunt Coaster) 10. The Racer - would be much higher if Red Racer still ran backwards.
I first rode Flight of Fear back in high school on a field trip. I had never rode a ride that has inversions before and I didn't know anything about the ride. The inversion straight out of the launch was a shocker for me lol. But that experience opened me up to trying more thrilling rides in the future, and for that I always will love Flight of Fear
Good list. Beast is 2 for me and Orion 1, and I agree with you on FoF. I’d actually put mystic at 6 or 7 and the bat at 5. These coasters are tough to rank.
I could not agree more with your placement of the top 3, Orion and Diamondback just have more airtime than mystic timbers, and Diamondback has more airtime than Orion. Great list, you should do more videos like this.
My top 10: 1. Mystic timbers 2. Orion 3. Banshee 4. Diamondback 5. The beast 6. Flight of fear 7. The bat 8. The racer 9. Invertigo 10. Adventure express
I have been to Kings Island dozens of times (it's our local amusement park) and I've ridden everything multiple times, and I'd say your list is pretty on track, pun intended. I would rank the Beast higher, in fact I'd swap it with Orion. The Beast is just a super fun, classic woody and the final double helix is just insane. Orion was a disappointment for what it could have been. Overall, the Diamondback is the best in the park. It's never given me a bad ride, and it's a blast every time.
How to obtain the LEGIT legendary night ride of the beast. The one that ends an hour after the park closes. The one that happens every night. The one only the locals and a lucky few know about. The night...which gives you all the elements you are saying its missing (or maybe just wipes all elements from the earth for 4 minutes) On Your next trip to kings island. Do this. The beast gives only one unique ride a day. It's the best ride of any coaster. In the park. You have, absolutely have to time this. Be in the que line by 930. Let people skip in front of you if you have to. Kinks island does a nightly fireworks show. Theyve done this show for decades. And because of this unique show the beast benefits from and gives its world famous night ride for decades. The launch from the woods In the back by the ride which means the have to shut Down the beasr 30 minutes ealier than the rest of the rides in the park. You will hear announcements that its shutting down and IF THEY GET MANAGEMENT OK, they will reopen to let everyone still in the que before shutdown ride. Dont worry this happens every night for the last 40 + years. THEY ALWAYS GET THE OK. But you have to be in the que past where the attendant checks your height or you will be turned away at 930. Its not a problem if you get there at around 920. You will watch fireworks from que line. Within 20 minutes the park empties out and you will be the only ones left in the park. Now that management gets everyone else out they give the ok. All major lights in the park have shut off and it's dark asf. CONGRATULATIONS. You have just unlocked the legit legendary Beast night ride. Not the prefireworks atdusk ride all the youtuber rollercoaster enthusiasts think is the legendary night ride. The two lift hills have the only two lights you'll see other than the moon, pray it's full like my last epic ride. You wont see your hand inches in front of your face the 4 minutes and 10 seconds as you ride the worlds longest woodie through a forest so dense that even from the top of the orion giga coaster at day you still can only see the tops of the 2 lift hills and that is all. It's insane. Everyone is excited. Youd think they were on the ride in the que line the wag people are cheering as the final trains take off. When you final get off it's close to midnight. An hour after the park officially closed. And the parking lot is empty. So you can spend 40 minutes in the parking lot stressing after the fireworks or spend 40 minutes riding the best night ride in the world. It's your choice at kings Island.
My KI Top 5: 1. The Beast (hence the profile pic), 2. Banshee, 3. Orion, 4. Flight Of Fear, 5. Diamondback with an honorable mention to Mystic Timbers. My favorite place on Earth! 👍🤘
Looks like a great list! I’d put Mystic at the top. I’ve always felt B&M’s are way overrated, like every hyper and Giga are just too boring for me so Kings Island has never been a great pro for me. It I respect the list!
Look, If you have been on the bat you have to agree that the bats chain lift is longer then the ride itself. I took those ten minutes to over think my decision, make a fool of my self, and turn out to love it
Love the Diamondback coaster, Haven't ridden Orion or mystic timber, actually the 1st time I've ever heard of mystic timber it looks good.I hated flight of fear, rode it back in 2000.
Nice list! I'm looking forward to riding Orion this year to see how it stacks up. Personally, I like Diamondback more than Mystic Timbers as well, so no disagreements there, but I'm not the biggest fan of Flight of Fear. Either way, nice to see someone else put Diamondback at the top as well!
Buddy of mine and I got to ride Diamondback when it first opened and we literally rode it all day. Got off and back into line at least 10 times. Pretty sure we didn't ride anything else.
I've never been to K.I. but I thought the countdown was perfect. The #4 spot looked a little strange but otherwise the countdown, especially the top 3 on this list: looks perfect to me.
Here's my list ( warning ⚠️ some might be triggered) 1. Orion ( it was hard to choose between this and diamondback but I choose Orion for it's insane back ride man I got airtime on the drop and it whips you through that in the back and I did not ride flight of Fear yet) 2. Diamondback ( this is awesome it gives you so much airtime it's crazy) 3. The Beast ( best wooden roller coaster I rode the downside is I just want my night ride I know how to take the turns so I really enjoy this) 4. Mystic Timbers ( yes I did it I have best over mystic don't get me wrong I love mystic it haul's through the layout) 5. Banshee ( best invert I ever rode man that thing fly's through that layout it's crazy 6. Backlot Stunt Coaster ( the only season why u have this ride over the bat is that I don't like over the shoulder and this have lapbars I like to fell more free 7. The Bat ( I hope this never leaves) 8. The Racer ( I like this one last time I rode it it was smooth) 9. Adventure Express (to rough for me but I do like the second lift hill) 10. Invertigo (trash gives me bad headache never rode it never will)
