I recently started with learning ROS. I have built a simple publisher subscriber program with it. I was wondering what would be the best time for me to switch to ROS2 after I get the basics down. I am going to study Mechatronics Masters starting next year.M, but the curriculum has no indication of ROS so I want to learn and build projects with it while learning the course.
Depends on the role you choose. If you go for perception, you need to know machine learning and computer vision as well. If you go for navigation/ planning roles, you probably don't. But it still depends. Best way to determine it is to first figure out your "niche" (Which job profiles you are targetting) and look at the requirements for the profiles.
