One way narcissism was explained to me was that a narcissist can not mentally put themselves in someone else’s shoes. They literally can’t imagine any one having a different view than the one they themselves hold.

Royalty kind of lends itself to narcissism because you are made to feel nothing but self important just by the fortune of marriage or birthright. It’s ridiculous. If you don’t earn that importance by decent ways, it can go to your head.

I work with a narcissist and she is the hardest person to deal with that I’ve ever met. I’ve worked with her for 6 years now and she is a miserable person. The way she uses people for her own gain is so disgusting to see. I’ve been her target many times over the years, but I won’t back down like some others do. What is hilarious to me is that she thinks she’s better than everyone else there, yet we all work the same job, and even though she’s been there longer than us all, she doesn’t make the most money there, others (myself included) have been promoted while she stays at the same title she’s been since she was hired. She is the reason why I now know what a narcissist actually is. It took me awhile to realize what she was but now that I do I have learned how to deal with her much better than ever before. I’m not saying all narcissists are bad people but the one I work with is definitely NOT a good person. She loves nothing more than to ruin people’s day.

Diana might have showed some signs sometimes but was definitely not a narcissist. She made herself very approachable to people and believed in their good. She also purposely dressed in a way beneficial to whoever she was visiting. For example if she was visiting blind kids, she would wear very warm and tactile clothes. She wouldn’t wear gloves because she liked to hold people’s hands (most royals don’t do this, if any), she would wear chunky jewelry for kids to play with and things like that which was very underreported.

Margaret is one of the only people I feel sorry for because she sacrificed many things for the sake of the crown. If she had been allowed to marry Peter, I think she would have been totally different. Poor Margaret had a miserable life and was the laughing stock for many. If you read biographies about her, it's really depressing. SiSi had an eating disorder, had terrible depression, and suffered from a terrible childhood. You're right, though. However, some of your facts are inaccurate as seen with the comments belowed and the facts I pointed out. I'm sure you're a trained historian, but I have a post graduate degree with one of my specialities being English history so I tend to look a little more closely.

Princess Michaels’ father left the family when she was very young. If he wasn’t around when she was growing up, I doubt he “influenced her.”

I really do love all of your content, but this video misses the mark in many ways. I was raised by a narcissist who was enabled by my other parent. It's taken years of help to move passed what happened in my childhood. Learning what exactly a narcissist is and by definition how hard it is to diagnose was a huge part of that growth. I applaud you for what you said early on in the video on this issue but you went on to make the very mistake you said you wanted to avoid. You painted several people as narcissist when there is not enough evidence of that and left out many of histories most likely royal narcissist, people whom consistently demonstrated the lack of empathy and sociopathy most typically associated with narcissism. Nero and Vlad the Impaler spring to mind. While your videos are normally quite well researched there were several key pieces of context left out of more than one biography here. While that context might not have changed whether the person qualified as a narcissist, failing to include it can lead your viewers to a bias opinion that lacks necessary information. Princess Michael father left at too young an age for her to likely have been influenced by him. Additionally you failed to mention the issue of Meghan Markle's father, whom himself comes off as a narcissist. You simply say she refused to invite him to her wedding without explaining the very public story that led to that decision. This paints her as a pure villain to the audience without that important bit of context. One of the key things I've learned over the years is the concept of "fleas" as in "One who lies with dogs wakes up with fleas." This is applied to children that come from a narcissistic family background or those that are raised in an environment of celebrity, royalty or other privilege. We do not come out of this kind of extreme upbringing completely free of our parents issues, no matter how much we might have been aware of them. Several people on this list display symptoms of fleas, rather than narcissism. Lastly, again, while I love your videos, I really think you should not have included people in the thumbnail who are not featured in this video. It comes off as terribly clickbaity.

Elizabeth Louise seems to exhibit more of borderline personality disorder

i usually enjoy your videos (and was just binging them today) but you clearly know NOTHING of narcissism. from what i have gathered, almost nobody on your list was a narcissist. i grew up with a narcissist and was diagnosed with a personality disorder (cause by childhood abuse) at the age of 16. type of disorder was not specified as they were uncertain whether i could be diagnosed with borderline personality disorder if i was underage. i stopped going to psychotherapy, courtesy of the before mentioned narcissist. today, i display several traits of narcissism. i have low empathy, regard people as either useful or useless, lie compulsively, and have an extremely inflated sense of self. i am not a narcissist. i have borderline personality disorder, or something on that side of the spectrum. abuse makes you lash out, but checking boxes on a list does NOT make you a narcissist. the people in this video do not even properly check the boxes.

I think that some of these may have infact had Malignant Borderline Personality Disorder rather than Narcissistic Personality Disorder/narcissism which are both on a spectrum and have some similar traits.or can often be co morbid (having lived with both types).Also narcissists are almost never self aware as you described Elizabeth Louise because they mirror others as there is no consciousness in the way that there is with "normal"people.

Out of all of these people, I give credit to the #1 on this list being Henry VIII. He absolutely used people and got rid of them once they were no longer of use to him. Lifelong friends, wives... Your definition basis for narcissism is incorrect and hence the whole premise for the video. Also there is a difference between narcissism and narcissistic personality disorder. You can find the full definition and list of 9 traits easily in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 5th edition.Unless you personally assess someone and are a professional e.g. psychiatrist, your assessments are invalid. I know what you are attempting to do but NPD is so serious as is the impact on victims, it should not be used as entertainment.
