The Outer Worlds and Cyberpunk are both great lessons about not getting hyped for upcoming games. I paid no attention to the hype, bought both on sale and really liked both of them.

That's the way to do it. I let myself get a little excited for Cyberpunk and it bit me a bit cause of that. Got my fingers crossed Starfield won't be a repeat scenario.

@@BADCompanySarge Anyone who says they weren't a little excited for Cyberpunk is either lying, or not really a gamer. I bought a bl00dy Xbox One X Cyberpunk console FFS! Of course, when the game launched and was a disaster, I chose not to play it, and waited until only a few months ago, when everyone agreed that it was finally ready. I had long ago sold that Xbox Cyberpunk console, and I decided to play on the PS5 instead of the Series X - because of the haptic feedback - and boy was I glad I waited. I had low expectations going in - you know, because of the history - but I thought it was an absolutely fantastic game, and I was stoked that it actually ended before I wanted it to. So many games these days have me slogging through at the end, because I just want to finish, but Cyberpunk left me wanting more, and feeling a little disappointed that it was over. Add to that the fact that I can play through as a different character, coming from a different background, and aiming for a different ending, and I can't wait to play it again when the DLC comes. I haven't visited your channel before, but I enjoyed the video - Thank You - and have Liked and Subscribed.

P.S. There _were_ still some bugs and glitches in Cyberpunk - you're right - but I just told myself those were glitches caused by the Johnny biochip, which meant they didn't ruin the suspension of disbelief for me...

While I agree that Cyberpunk is one of my biggest gaming disappointments, I will say that there's something definitely alluring about that world and the characters, and I've somehow found myself going through my third playthrough. As a huge cyberpunk fan (the genre, not the game), I do think the world itself really is hard to ignore and why I still think it's worth a play if at least purchased on a sale. And somehow I've found myself being pulled in yet again for the release of Phantom Liberty.

Nice to see you excited for third person games Sarge! For real though, great list. If I may add, Prey 2017 might scratch that itch too, It's got spooky aliens, awesome powers, cool sci-fi weapons, mysteries to uncover, and stressful zero-g floating outside the ship!

Really cool feature of Rebel Galaxy that I don't hear talked about much in videos about it, there is a tool to import your own playlist of music built into the launcher. I took the OST from Cowboy Bebop and imported it to this game. Now I feel like Spike, or jet swinging through jumpgates, and hunting down bountyheads. Its awesome.

I've been playing NMS since the Waypoint 4.0 patch. I've tried getting into the game a few times and always felt it overwhelming. With the latest patch I am finding it way easier to follow along that the other times I tried to get into it, I highly recommend it. Also, play Mass Effect!

Rebel Galaxy looks in some ways to be a simplified version of Eve Online, which should've got an honorable mention.

I haven't actually played Ratchett and Clank so not too sure. There are also plenty of innuendoes in the Borderlands franchise so maybe there's some similarities?

Im in the exact same situation. Im holding off on finishing the game until I know Phantom Liberty is coming out so I can go straight onto that. Its going to take some game to beat that experience for me

Please please please let there be no microtransactions, loot boxes, NFTs or rubbish. Just let it be a normal video game. I am not going to get hyped for it and no pre-ordering - I will know about 2 weeks out if it is going to be any good or not. If they try to restrict the reviewers seeing only some of the game (or missing from platforms), then we know there will be issues.

I think we'll be safe from NFTs, can't see that getting thrown in with the sheer amount of backlash it's had in the past. Got to be somebody at the company smart enough to stop that before it starts. As for microtransactions and loot boxes though, we can't do much other than cross our fingers for now. Definitely a smart move to wait a while, especially for a game which is almost certainly going to be a large RPG as even if early reviewers can get full copies of the game it'll take a while to truly experience what the game has to offer.
