@@SleekHerooDoesn't take long for a gate to get severely misaligned. Sometimes it's adjustable, but often you'll end up having to lift the gate to get the catch to lock, which isn't ideal for people with back problems etc. Happens more with country gates sunk into soil.
Attach it with screws not nails and the latch can easily be re positioned. Problem solved . If it needs more than that the latch is the least of your worries
The best ones are the kind that don't need fussy alignment. When used on wood gates you have to allow for warping, expansion, shrinkage, sagging, and soil shifting.
Daaang I totally missed that lol. I thought the "wood" looked weird, but I didn't even consider it being cgi. It seems so obvious now that I look more closely! Glad you pointed that out.
A lot of you that enjoy these types of videos would probably make good builders. I like carpentry but there are so many things you can build with your hands. You get to oversee a project from start to finish and it’s very satisfying. The door handles in this video only take about 5-10 minutes to install
The last one is stupid clever. Best thing about seeing this video is I'll be starting my private fence project next week and up until now I was absolutely clueless as to what I was going to do for the latch and locking mechanism.
Inventions that made us wonder who talked us into buying sophisticated electrical locks. Soothing mechanics. I would play with these doors all day, everyday 😅👌
Pretty sure like three of these are just how doorknobs work, especially the last one. "Locked" doesn't mean people can't enter without some tool, it just means the object stays in place.
Genius . I love this!! Functional Mechanical Art Found myself meditating peacefully... So utilitarian all the way...No words...am I crazy? Anyway, thank you!!
*Nice, even though I it is the same gate content it is still visually pleasing and a nice change to other videos on this platform.* *Keep up man! This content advertises what it has and delivers unlike the annoying clickbait or hyper-over exaggerated commentators that try getting people's attention with false statements*
The very last one, the key is awesome!!!! Some are really death traps 😂😂😂😂 don’t go outside when it’s cold and get locked out without warm clothes!!!! Just to read the news? Not worth it! Real simple ideas!
Most of these probably wouldn't even work for very long when used outside on a gate. You'd have to keep maintaining it with oil and checking for rust etc or removing parts every once in a while versus a normal lock that in most cases you'll never need to touch and they'll keep working.
