Matthew Perry was dealing with substance abuse problems for the first few seasons of Friends. Jennifer Aniston was able to get him the help he needed and he got sober, which is why he gained weight during the last few seasons. He admitted years later during an interview, that he couldn’t remember a good portion of working on the show because his addiction was so bad at the time. Glad he’s doing better now. He’s a talented actor and was one of the best characters on Friends.
You would hate the ending I tipped would happen. I guessed that Ted would end up with Robin, but thought that the huge twist was that -Robin was the mother all along. I thought that everyone was tuning in to see who the mother would be, and yet she was in it the whole time.
@@lexkanyima2195 Will Smith used his clout to have Janet Hubert blackballed from Hollywood. Karma has come back to him. Will Smith is now, practically blackballed from Hollywood. A lot of his fan turned on him for slapping Chris Rock at this year's Oscars. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
The HIMYM finale to me, is one of the worst series finale in history for me, they ruined Barney's arc completely, which I really hate the writers for, and Ted + Robin never worked as a couple, ever - so why the writers thought it was a good idea to put them back together again - just wrong on so many levels
Same! Also felt wedding season was too long. Would've like to more of ted and Tracy maybe how she got along with the friends and how he convinced her to marry him
Agreed. The ending *MIGHT* have worked if it went about 4 seasons. But after Robin and Barney getting together, breaking up, getting back together and the married made it difficult it swallow the ending. It took a whole season to get through one weekend, the Barney /Robin wedding. So it felt like as soon as they got married, they got divorced. And I was hoping the last season would be more about “the mom”. I saw the foreshadowing about her dying and I was already hating it. The entire 9the season is bad. The finale didn’t save it, it put an exclamation mark at the end.
The original Aunt Viv had such a level of class and dignity to her that was so natural. Hubert fit the role perfectly. She was also an educator who possessed a strength of character and was successful in her own right. She added to her husband.
I had no idea Andre Agassi was that jealous and unhinged! He destroyed all of his trophies due to a fictional scene that was meant to be ridiculous and over the top. Glad Brooke moved on, because imagine what he might do in response to something more serious!
Just an FYI-Andre Agassi is the one who filed for divorce. He knew the day they were getting married that he didn’t want to go through with it. That being said, he was definitely the bulk of the problem in the marriage. He was an emotionally barren self absorbed man baby. He had an extremely fragile ego. He was temperamental and aloof and deeply addicted to crystal meth throughout most of their marriage. He did Brooke a favor. They both went on to marry people to whom they were much better suited. Andre got off drugs and found a life outside of tennis and a way to do good for his community. Brooke of course is fabulous in all ways. 👸🏼
I’m surprised Step by Step wasn’t on here. Sasha Mitchell, who portrayed Cody, Frank’s nephew, was fired from the show when he was arrested and stood trial for domestic abuse. However, it was later revealed that his wife was the abuser and he was trying to save their kids from her abuse at the time he was arrested. He lost a lucrative career because of his arrest and conviction. And it was all a lie.
More proof that feminism/misandry has had more sway that people realize. Men like Harvey Weinstein only function when it is at the "discretion of feminists".
I found it weird that they didn’t mention that part of the situation here. Cuz the colorism implications were a big part of the controversy. The character was watered down in every way including the white washing in complexion.
That 70s Show is an acceptable entry; However, Diff’rent Strokes is a stronger entry. All 3 kids were arrested at some point. Bridges and Plato had drug problems. Plato was written off the show when she was pregnant. Plato died at 34. Coleman at 42. I was worried that all the adults on the cast would outlive all the kids. Luckily Bridges seemed to get grounded and outlived the adults. Coleman has had problems with sexual harassment and assault. Coleman sued his parents for mismanaging his funds, and he left his parents out of his will. You probably could do a top 10 of controversies on those 3 kids.
Laurie foreman was such a tragic scenario. The replacement was never a good one and I still think they should have written the character out instead of having another actress step in.
If people didn't like the actual ending, they would have HATED the ending I thought would happen. I knew that there would be a twist, and I thought that the mother would turn out to be- Robin all along, and the show would be about how they finally got together, after many delays and setbacks.
The Friends entry is more about Agassi than it is about the show. Seems kind of a cheat to me. What about all of the kids in Diff’rent Strokes having issues? Mackenzie Phillips getting fired from One Day at a Time? Valerie Harper getting fired from Valerie’s Family? Norman Fell & Audra Lindley being promised to come back to Three’s Company if their spin-off failed (it did and the promise was broken). Or Last Man Standing getting canceled with rumors it was because Tim Allen was too pro-Trump?
But there was, Jo Marie Payton was the original Harriet Winslow but in the final nine episodes of the final season, a noticeably new Harriet Winslow began appearing on the show. Payton exited and was replaced by Judyann Elder. Look it up.
@@melissaboiteau2041 and Rachel is seen throughout the first three seasons; & appears infrequently for a number of episodes in the fourth season due to her getting her own sitcom.
My atttitude is that I think the whole ep should have been the four of them in the car, during the parade , and have it be a one set ep (like "The Parking Garage" or "The Chinese Restaurant".
James Evans being killed off Good Times because he voiced his opinion about playing too hard on stereotypes. So they used more stereotypes to get rid of him when had the character killed by gang members and made Florida a single mother
It should've just ended, the show didn't even really have a central plot, just the character doing random stuff so it could've just ended on a high note. Same for 8 Simple Rules after John Ritter died.
Yes, the show should have just catered to a prima donna who showed up late, made demands, and made life hell for everyone on set. Charlie Sheen is massively overrated.
Terri Reccalta The Woman Who Tried To shut down Married With Children and ended up boosting the shows popularity shouldn't try to end Al Bundy he's the goat
I'm absolutely shocked that this video never actually mentioned that Lisa Robin Kelly had a miscarriage so it led her to drug abuse in the first place. :(
I never understood the "outrage" of the Puerto Rico Day Parade episode...Kramer is a bumbling goofball. His stomping of the burning flag was not out of malice, and the anger of characters in the show was funny because the situation was interpreted out of context.
"Interpreted out of context". Its kind of funny how outrage in the episode happened for the same reason why it happened in real life. . People who are outraged didn't watch the show. They just heard that in this episode Krammer burns puertarican flag and decided that it must be offensive.
The entire series was like that too. They all were terrible people but they also did things that were inadvertently offensive. That was the entire point of the show.
@@badquestion4785 Jerry said in an interview when he asked someone why something that hadn't even aired yet was offensive, their response was, "Well, we assume it's going to be offensive."
Everyone thinks it was the tweet which got Roseanne fired. She was already on a short leash. During the show’s original run, she was a pain in the ass. She hired and fired staff on a whim. Forced her then coked out husband, Tom Arnold on to the show. This time around network execs weren’t having none of it.
For me it was the ending of "facts of life". While not tragic, it was a shame. Mindy Cohn and Nancy McKeon (jo and Nat) where not wanting A season 10, Which NBC first offered. Rather then do a proper ending for the 9 season series, NBC hung thier hopes on a spin off tryout with Blair buying eastland. To set it up, Mindy and Nancys characthers where rid of quickly. Jo was the worst: in 22 minuites, Jo went from dating rick, to engaged and a 1 minuite wedding. In 1 single episode. Despite a nice spin off idea as the finalie (and most likely the writers strike then) it never took off. Mayim Bialik would have been among the next gen of facts of life teens. So "facts of life" fizzled out more or less.
It’s so weird that the original Aunt Viv (Janet Hubert) got fired from NBC due to her falling out with not just Will Smith, but the network didn’t pay her any royalties. I didn’t care for the replacement, after all during Season 4-6 of the Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. Thankfully, Janet’s beef with Will had already been squash while on the Fresh Prince Reunion Special on HBO Max. At least, Jazz was right on different Aunt Viv.
10. had Bob Saget-dead 9. Jessica Walter-dead 8. Dustin Diamond-dead 7. James Avery-dead 6. George Segal-dead 5. Lisa Robin Kelly-dead 4. James Michael Tyler-dead 3. Conchata Ferrell-dead 2. Glenn Quinn-dead 1. All Seinfeld parents-dead Only 6, 3,and 1 lived to 70.
Now that I’m older, it’s actually kind of hard for me to watch fresh prince with the “new aunt viv”. I know things happened behind the signs that caused the change, but Janet Hubert was aunt viv and the only one I’ll recognize
Amazing video ms mojo, fantastic job. After Roseanne was fired from her,I try to get to the Conners give up after few episodes because felt more like a drama then a sitcom not that funny too. Not too without Roseanne too.
Chandler going from not liking his father, to not only accepting him, but inviting him to his wedding, showed that Chandler learnt his lesson about prejudice.
@@dhenderson1810 that's not the problem. A lot of queen people, especially ones in the drag and trans communities had issues with a white cis women playing a man in drag. Even Kathleen Turner who played the role has gone to say it's a role she wouldn't do today.
@@ScubaX29 there's also the fact that their wording & terminology was kind of all over the place....a lot did point at a gay man who does drag ( and Viva Las Gaygas IS a gay drag show ) but a lot of lines came off like they were misgendering a transwoman
8:59 Roseanne tried to blame her blatant racism on taking Ambien, leading Sanofi to issue a statement on Twitter: "While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication."
How is Puerto Rico Day Parade #1? You said it yourself, it's not even memorable and it's still on Netflix. This barely should have been an dishonorable mention. How is Roseanne behind it?
To be fair, both Watchmojo and MsMojo loves the Puerto Rican Day Parade scene from Seinfeld that almost some past (think 5 yrs - 3 yrs ago) Top 10 or Top 20 videos about sitcoms have it.
Is the title of #7 a J. Cole pun? #7 the tale of two aunt vivs J. Cole song "A tale of two cities" First line; "First things first RIP Uncle Phil…forreal"
What about on Seinfeld, when the actor who played Kramer (Michael Richard’s) went on a drunken racist rant? This might have been after the show went off the air, though.
People paid good money to hear Michael Richards do stand up, not for some random in the crowd to show up late, interrupt the show, and be a smartass. Heckling is disrespectful and needs to be called out. It is disrespectful to the performer, and to the audience who paid to listen to his jokes. If this clown can't behave himself, he should have been thrown out, and the audience should have called him out. Instead this guy sooked up and cried "Racism!"
Laurie from that 70s show..one of her arrest happened in a town in North Carolina where I worked/lived near at the time..it was sad. I'm glad that movies,TV shows, etc aren't sitting back as much these days and letting those who SA in any form, bigots, etc be on things even though it's sad it takes fellow coworkers or the public saying/do something for producers act on it
The one with Charlie Sheen still is somewhat of a twilight zone to me. You gotta admit that he carried the entire show! Allen became such an annoying character, the kid was nothing but stupid but Charlie was always awesome and even evolved. At least a little bit.
I actually really liked the ending to HIMYM, and it makes sense since most of it was his up and downs with Robyn. The way they dragged it on and executed it was poor and they should've taken notes from "Friends" and other sitcoms, where writers reconsidered their initial plans when the chemistry between other characters and character development was evident. Barney and Robyn were great, the Mother was a perfect casting, there was a point where the original ending didn't work anymore. In Friends, Chandler and Monica wasn't supposed to be a couple until the writers saw the audience reaction. In "Frasier", Niles wasn't supposed to be in love with Daphne, and so on. The writers changed as the series progressed and those writers should've done the same.
The scandals involving “Will & Grace” bothered me and I wish they would’ve just shut down the sitcom sooner rather than embarrass themselves. My opinion, seasons 1-4 of this show are absolute genius and I adore and watch them regularly. However, the move to marry off Grace was the beginning of the turmoil and it just never recovered. There are a couple a highlights, like the live episode from Karen’s bathroom in season 8 which was akin the the relationships early on in the run. Also, the handling of Rosie’s death in the reincarnation of the show are highlights. But it makes me so so sad how this show was destroyed. Very similar to “HIMYM” which you guys did address in this episode.
Love yourself first and most Believe in yourself Quitters never win and winners never quit Don't give up and never give in Ignore those who try to discourage you Hang on to your dreams Take control of own destiny Take care of yourself Keep moving forward Stay strong Stand tall and be brave Stand up for yourself Act of kindness people
sorry but the Brooke Shields one is the worst imo. Auggisi got angry that his actress wife was in an intimate scene with another Actor. It's like did you not get what your wife does for a living idiot.
HIMYM was a boring sitcom period the finale literally sucked...!! I was kinda upset they changed Aunt Vivian. I liked the original one. Charlie Sheen literally seemed like a asshole. Like a true Diva..!!
I remember the show family matters first season when Julie, who's played by Jamie foxworthy never showed up after the second season, then at the 8th and final season of the show, baby place the mother,. Harriet Winslow, with another lady.
I don't get how the episode in Seinfeld is supposed to be problematic. I also did imagine it was my country's flag but I really don't see the problem, it was part of a COMEDY, things like that happen there. There is no deeper meaning or racism involved, it could have been any flag🤦♀😂 But I guess movies are gonna have to picture white flags then, although that has a meaning too. And so do black ones...😬 But Americans really have a problem with flags. Never, NEVER allowing their flag to touch the ground🙄
I loved Roseanne I've watched the series over and over again. It was funny and also dealt with problems that we may experience in our own lives. I don't except Roseannes behaviour and because of this she ruined the new series. It's such a shame because the series was great and the cast were perfect for the series. Why do people say such horrible things without thinking???😔💜 P.s. love your videos 😊💖
I've said it once, and I will say it again. If Roseanne had been a Leftie, she would have not only not been fired, but applauded. Name me one Leftie, ONE, who has been fired from TV for what they did or said.
Did the people at Friends ever know that Days of Our Lives tapes in Los Angeles, not New York City?? Always has. So why would Joey live in New York and not LA??
The second Aunt Viv was far more believable as a mother, especially within that family where everyone showed warmth toward each other at the end of the day. Original Aunt Viv was a cold woman who didn't complement Uncle Phil and certainly wouldn't have had demonstratively affectionate kids or family dynamics!
@@christianthompson3926 💯, While strict parent characters can be doable, you need a balance and was something the first half didn't have. I was actually very uncomfortable when watching the first half of the show.
in my opinion when a main character is fired or dies thats a sign to end most shows especially if its done after many seasons replacing them rarely works and having their character die just changes the plot every show is different for example friends wouldnt of worked without a character or a actor change so it would of been cancelled fresh prince worked well enough to stay but abit disappointing 8 simple rules should of gone after paul's death
Yeah the show didn't even reference what happened to her. Rumor has it that in the never made season 10 she was gonna be revealed that she was living with her Aunt Rachel all this time but that wouldn't have made sense because Rachel takes her niece but not her own son? And her parents took Richie and ditched her with her aunt?
that sounds odd about shields or at least all of it but discriminating or not offensive or not your conscience is the back of your head contemplating don't do it you don't always have to listen it's a choice but if it comes out wrong don't do it
