??? Are you kidding??? You guys picked the High Evolutionary? How many times has he outsmarted the Living Universe and Taken Eternity's place to become God again? He isn't even the Smartest Character on this list from his comic book universe. Doctor Doom has achieved Godhood at least 4 times. Thanos at least twice. Hell where's the Magus on this list? You know, the guy who outsmarted all of the Marvel Universe to assemble the Infinity Gauntlet for him. Little event called the Infinity War? Its the Story after Infinity Gauntlet.

Ozymandias deserves to be on this list for his intellect, but describing him as being cold and calculating is so wrong, and reminds me of one of the biggest misunderstanding of his character by the director of the Watchman movie(who fell back on the old cliche that you show off intellect with cold calculating logic) It bugs me because it completely overlooks THE driving force behind all of his actions in the story(and the Parallels between him and the black freighter comic within a comic), which is his emotions and empathy. His intellect helped devise his plan, but it was his emotional attachment to humanity and the horrible grief at the idea of billions suffering and dying in nuclear war that drove him to find any means to undo it, so fixated on the horribleness of such a thing that it blinded him to the fact that it WASN’T a certainty. In the comics, he’s so relieved at the news on the tv that his plan worked and he has(in his mind) saved humanity from this great catastrophe that he exclaims “I did it!!” As tears of joy and relief run down his smiling face. He is a brilliant genius, but he is not cold and calculating.

@@darrennovember5094 Yes he is. If you kill millions of people, you are a supervillain. If he was a hero, he would have used his super brain to figure out a solution that didn't involve the death of anyone. He was already working with Jon, who could manipulate time. He could have had Jon tweak a series of events through history that would prevent it. Would it be complicated figuring out which events can be changes without causing more harm than good? Yes, but the guy is a genius, right? And it isn't like he had limited time to figure it out. With Jon's help he could have had infinite time to figure it out. Yeah, the guy is evil. He is also cold and calculating for the same reasons.

I think Thanos deserved more than an honorable mention. He's called Bruce Banners intelligence (who's Top 10 on Earth btw) great for human standards, and gazed into the Well of Infinity keeping his mind in the process. His cosmic knowledge rivals that of the Watchers and has created tech advanced enough to threaten Abstracts.

I agree. I would love to see a decent Galactus, but we can't go from space bad guy to another space bad guy. We need to bring it back to a smaller scale with Doom. Also, since we are introducing the Fantastic Four as well as the X-Men, it should be someone who both teams have fought multiple times. In fact, the entire Marvel Universe has history with Doom. Dr. Strange, Iron Man, the Avengers as a whole, Spider Man, and even Black Panther have fought Doom. Introduce him through the FF, then make him the behind-the-scenes villain that orchestrates a lot of what happens in the other super hero movies, and then build to a big cross over event with members of every group versus him. Or Secret Wars. But that's just the geek in me wanting to see Wolverine cut off Absorbing Man's arm and the Human Torch take on Ultron. So many cool match-ups that we otherwise would never get to see. But logic says Doom.

The list is wrong by a far amount. There are many of these characters that doesn't belong on the list. Norman Osbourne was a threat as a scientist, but they kept retconning his character to the point of ridiculousness. They should have just let him stay dead after he accidentally killed himself while trying to kill Spiderman with his jet glider. Bringing him back just proved how bankrupt Marvel was at that time. Having him have a love child with Gwen Stacey (a girl half his age) for absolutely no logical reason, was a slap in the face to every Marvel reader that cared about serious storylines and credible character development. I'm glad I stopped reading Marvel long before that....

joker deserves a spot in the top 3 for being the smartest psychopath in gotham if not all of DC. arnim zola deserves a mention for the fact he has found ways to keep on going after each defeat and taskmaster deserves spot in the top 5 for the being a mercenary that learns predicts and almost perfectly mimics anyone and everyone he fights

He got hypnotized to keep him from having to do the riddles, and he went on a crime spree that Batman couldn't stop until he started subconsciously leaving riddles for Batman to follow

No, I do not agree with your picks. 1) Lex Luthor. Even Darksied couldn't go to the Source Wall and return with his sanity intact. Plus, while there, he acquired the Anti-Life equation. 2) Doctor Doom. He is a superior intellect to Reed Richards. He rules an entire country with an iron fist. He combines science and magic to devastating effect. 3) Everyone else. That is all.:)

Lex isn't even close to Doom and Thanos when it comes to intelligence. The list should have been like this: 13: Riddler 12: Doc Ock 11: MODOK 10: Leader 9: Tahwne 8: The Thinker 7: Ozymandias 6: High Evolutionary 5: Lex Luthor 4: Darkseid 3: Brainiac 2: Doom 1: Thanos With number 11 to 13 as honorable mentions. Lex is intelligent and certainly above Batman, but he is below the intelligence of the smartest humans in Marvel. And Thanos has been established as the smartest character in comic book history aside from the the gods of all gods like TOAA and character that are like him.

because like someone else said on the comments section, he's not smart but deranged crazy. There is a difference. Joker has never gave Batman any mental or psychology clues to his villain hits. He more threatened Batman by hurting one of his friends or something else. Riddler has trapped Batman and made him think to get out of a situation.

No. No its not. The High Evolutionary is basically Dr. Moreau as a Celestial. Doom, and Thanos have used their intellect to surpass Eternity the very personification of the Marvel Universe. Also it can't be spot on when they placed the Riddler and Doc Ock as picks on a list like this. Hey Know who's smarter than the Riddler? Bane, Ra's Al Gul, Vandal Savage, and arguably the Joker. Know who's smarter than Doc Ock? Well lots and lots of other villains. Like Norman Osbourne, Apocalypse, Mister Sinister, Arcade, Kang the Conqueror, etc. I could keep going, but I don't want to waste anymore time on this list.

Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are all super heroes, this was only villains. Joker definitely should of been on there though. He's outsmarted the entire justice league on multiple occasions.

The Riddler is Batman's smartest villain, TBH. He's probably the closest villain Batman has to an intellectual equal, and his whole reason for existing is to keep Batman sharp (usually only losing due to his excessive arrogance and narcissistic compulsion to leave clues).

If this were a list of the "Most manipulative supervillains", "Supervillains that cause the most threat", or "Supervillains that (nearly?) beat their heroes", *then* you would probably see characters like The Joker, Ra's al Ghul, Hush, ETC.

Winter Naomi Vera He should have been number one. He is after all the smartest super villain in comic book history. He would beat Lucifer Morningstar and Michael Demiurgos given enough time. And noone in the DC universe except for Presence have the ability to beat them. While Marvel have several characters that would beat Lucifer and Michael. Thanos would lose to them really fucking fast in a random encounter. Thanos with a plan could easily beat them.
