One fact about Simo Häyhä that you forgot to mention: He made those kills using only the iron sights of his Sako M/28-30 rifle. His reasoning of not using a scope was that iron sight enabled him to keep his head lower than with a scope and also that scopes tend to fog up in freezing winter conditions.
^ He said that in a finnish newspaper before the internet, there isnt going to be any english version around. But that paper was (well, still is.) called Lappilainen.
Move between the lines, a soldier breaking the confines A force deployed from overseas A war in foreign land await the eager recruits And in their midst, among the men A soldier with a different past return to his roots Into battle, the gas has them pinned Then this soldier invoke the spirits of the wind Under fire, a ghost that roams the battlefield Move between the lines, a soldier breaking the confines Just another man and rifle, a marksman and a scout revealed Makes his way from trench to trench alone, moving undetected And on the fields of Passchendaele A guiding light for reinforcements finding their way And in the Battle of the Scarpe Bring ammo over no man's land and fire away In the battle, the gas had them pinned Pegahmagabow invoked the spirits of the wind Under fire, a ghost that roams the battlefield Move between the lines, a soldier breaking the confines Just another man and rifle, a marksman and a scout revealed Makes his way from trench to trench alone, moving undetected Under fire, a ghost that... Under fire, a ghost that roams the battlefield Move between the lines, a soldier breaking the confines Just another man and rifle, a marksman and a scout revealed Makes his way from trench to trench alone, moving undetected Francis stayed and fought throughout the war, made his way until the end alive
Simo never used a scope, he only used iron sights for shooting in the war, as the optics reflections would make a shooter more easily detectable, and also make them lift their head just slightly higher in their shooting position, which could prove lethal. This could've been mentioned and also the animation you used for Simo had a scoped rifle.
Actually the only reason he did not use a scope was because he chose to use his own rifle he had for over 20 years. He mastered that gun, knew it extremely well, and had used that for hunting and accuracy shooting competitions. The other things are just a bonus, but that is the real reason.
@@RoyalMela it is not. As had Finnish I know that Simo said specifically he preferred iron sight because when you’re hidden in the snow you need to peak your head up in order to aim with the larger scope, making it easier to detect him. He was all about camo and stealth. He also noted that the scope would give off a glimpse of light reflecting the sun.
The Infographics Show: "The White Feather once infiltrated a North Vietnamese base and killed the general-in-charge, a task virtually suicidal to his senior officers" Also The Infographics Show: Doesn't include the White Feather in the top 10 snipers list
I wonder about that, too. They also didnt simply go by confirmed kills (which is not the best number to represent). Really wonder how he couldnt make the list?
90% of the population lives in the. Northern hemisphere. Which is where most of the super powers stay so I would say yes most people watching have someone from their country.
@@gunnermontenaro6026 you don't. You just blow air out of your nose slightly harder and make a sound "hmmph" with a tiny smile. After that it's back to poker face and avoiding eye contact.
Man these real snipers are more interesting and cooler then these Call of duty people because these snipers have fought in a real war for a cause they throught was right and or wrong
If Simo Häyhä in CoD,he prefer using Scope, thus broke the history, why? Because, people will rage not have no scope carries throught mission, making it hardest mission but i find challenging misdion are best for me
The fact that the White feather wasn’t on the list makes me mad, I respect your decision but to be able to go undetected with a feather on your head in the middle of a green forest then continue to shoot an enemy directly in the eye through his scope, and he doesn’t make it on the list, what a shame
I was about to get all indignant about you not mentioning Lyudmila Pavlichenko, but then you did. Chica killed so many Nazis, it's a wonder they didn't start referring to "getting sniped" as "getting Lyudmila'd."
Other Snipers getting 300 kills in a few months: "Oh, what an amazing feat!" Chris Kyle being in the one of the most elite Special Forces on Earth and spending 10 years in Enemy territory and getting 160 kills: "There is no way that actually happened!" Double standards like crazy. I don't find it hard to believe Chris killed that many.
No double standard about it. The WW2 era snipers were just in a very target rich environment. Considerably harder to get hundreds of kills against what is basically a guerilla force.
I think the most impressive thing about Ms. Pavelchenko is that 36 of her 309 kills were enemy snipers. That meant they had as much chance as she did... she was just better than they were.
If Chris Kyle and barley hit a mile shot they aren’t miles away. And RIP Chris Kyle we will always remember as a Seal the toughest military force on the world
Hathcock and Chuck Mawiney should be on here too. Hathcock just for being able to survive the multiple dangerous missions he went on and Chuck for having the most confirmed kills in marine corps history
