Hey guys, you should do a colab with Peter Pee.... he has great videos like yourselves but he goes a bit deeper into the tech side and he has some great videos with recommended settings based on various set ups.... iveused his recommended set up for the 5.1 arc configuration and it is perfect!!!!
I would really buy a Sonos system as home theatre, but the lack of complete DTS support really bother me. As i watch many 4K bluray that has high quality DTS tracks, especially old ones...
Hello! Can I join a Sonos beam with sonos One and Submini? Trying to stream the audio from a Sony screen that I use as PC monitor, thinking about buying a Sonos Beam :)
Thanks for the video! But I have a concern with this Sonos device beam 2. When you turn off the tv, does the Sonos beam 2 also turn off or stay on? Also, when you just playing music from the Sonos app, how do you turn off the bar? Because the only option I have is to pause the sound but the bar is still on. Let me know if you can turn off this sound bar when not in used. Thanks!!
i have bad audio with consoles only put it on linerar pcm 7.1 it says app also but sounds metalic and delayed dolby, dts same everything else sounds good
I guess with siri you mean that it can control Sonos speaker when using a apple device as the microphone, but Sonos does not allow using Siri on their products yet right?
I did Symfonisk bookshelf speakers in my office (in a bookshelf) with Gen 1 Beam+Gen 3 Sub. Sounds fantastic and you don't even notice the Symfonisk speakers. Added two symfonisk speakers to the master bedroom Gen 1 Beam on the nightstand. I don't have to turn the volume up as high with rear speakers and the speakers can be used to place stuff on it top compared to the Sonos One.
Great video, I’ve watched so many of your reviews before buying my Arc and I love it. Maybe worth a video to review the HD Fury Arcana as I purchased this as well to bypass the lack of eArc on my 2018 LG tv. It works brilliantly
How do you like the upfiring speakers and the base? Because I got an Beam and wanted to add a Sub Mini but since I have a really small room it might be wise to return it and just use the Arc with rear speakers. A Sub would maybe have too much power anyways for my small room.
@@Milan-cf1xe hi Milan, we love it. Our room isn’t that big (25m2) but it has high ceilings so the height channels really make a big difference. It’s a very impressive bit of kit. We’ve previously had the playbar and over the years I’ve added a sub and 2 play Ones.
@Milan go the sub mate, adds a whole other level to the sound. Absolutely worth it. Don't worry about size of the room, trueplay will sort that out and the ability of setting the sub level will ensure you're not drowning out by the base.
Hi Mate, up until last week I've been using the HDFury Arcana also for about 18months, as I had a 2016 Samsung and no earc port and I agree it's a great piece of kit... last week I bought the LG C2 and WOW using the earc port from the TV has made a difference again... that said, I was also a 4k switch so 2 device's before hitting the arc.....
@@jb7753 I already got it. While it is is nice, it doesnt make that of a huge difference to me. Because of neighboors I can't turn up the volume and at a lower volume the Beam has enough base. Considering the difference it makes I would pay 250€ but not 460€. Anyways, I ordered the Samsung Q990b because it supports DTS HD and is 960€ for a full set, while the Beam + Sub Mini are 800€
I have a LG C1 and LG C2, the Arc connects with the eArc HDMI cable to the TV. The Arc system is always on and the most it will do is go into standby when the TV is off. Turing on your TV will wakes up the Arc system and you can control the volume with the TV remote or your smartphone.
I need help when ever I switch hearing From my beam sonos Amazon music or Spotify to Tv it is not switching to Tv when I switch on or even thru app . I need to switch off and On my beam each time to reconnect with Tv do you know why and any solution here ?
Hi! Great video as usual thanks. Just one question though, I have an Arc and I'd like to know what I should set the height audio to? I have 9ft high flat ceilings and I have it set to maximum but I always wondered whether too high might blow the upfiring speakers in time...?
Hi mate, my advice is watch the same content repeatedly and set the height control to neg 15 then boost it by say 3 or 5 at a time to find the best spot, you may find you don't have to go maximum. If you look up Peter Pee on you tube he has lots of vids on best settings for sonos kit and in 1 video he talks about the height speakers.
Anybody know why I can no longer search for individual songs ? When I search a band all options lead me to play only. I can no longer build a playlist?
In the arc and gen 2 sound bars there are upward firing speakers, it fires sound up to bounce it off the roof and place it around the room adding to the spatial audio (atmos) effect.
@@smarthomesounds THANKS 👍 I. Just wanted to know for best possible sound effects in the room.Could I put the subwoofer in the back by the couch and still get good sound.
I own an arc and numbers for volume control only come up on the app. When controlled through the tv the light on the front of the sound bar flashes so you can see it’s changing but you will not know what number volume is on without looking at the app
@@shamilmammadov8246 it obviously sends a signal as your remote control for your tv can control the volume but your tv volume will be different to what the Sonos can output and there is no display on the sound bar to show any numbers. I always use the app anyway so I do physically know weather it’s 25% or 50. % or higher!!
Minor tweaks to suit personal preferences. Let true play do 80/ 90 / 95% of the work and you do the rest to find the sweet spot, you may prefer steonger bass but the recommendation is not that deep etc... like using preset picture configurations on a TV then adjusting the brightness or contrast or warm settings etc.
12:58 Yes!! I have done this before and loved it BUT seemingly after installing a Boost (to clear up some of the choppy playback) I can’t seem to hear it at all on a few of my Play:1 speakers. Do you have any suggestions on how to remedy this so I can hear it on the rest of the sonos without the drop out / choppiness?
I’ve got an Arc waiting for me under the tree to replace my Samsung soundbar. Will I be able to add it to an existing Amazon Echo multiroom mudic group or will it only do play with other Sonos products? Also, for 19’ x 16’ space would you recommend pairing it with a sub gen 3 or a sub mini? Thanks.
Hi @javier the best way to get Bluetooth audio to your Beam is to send a Bluetooth stream to a Sonos Roam and then you would be able to group the Roam with the Beam. Unfortunately you would have to purchase a Sonos Roam but it’s a good excuse to get one. 🤝
I think Sonos doesn't like use the bluetooth with the Beam because of bluetooth sound quality, range issues, and interruption of sound from interference, notification dings, or phone calls. Before Sonos, my wife had to carry her iphone with her along with a bluetooth speaker or when she had her earbuds in to have uninterrupted sound on the go. Now, we can play Sonos in the whole house configuration and we just needs to take the Roam if we want to take the music outside.
I've noticed it depends on my TV. My newer OLED TV with a Beam Gen 1 only shows + or - for volume with a soundbar (I get the volume sider with TV speakers). My older master bedroom OLED TV doesn't show any volume adjustments on screen with its Beam Gen 1.
Could you do a video the best settings using Sonos with and Apple TV 4K? I can’t find anything specifically for using them together. There seems to be a slight lag between the audio and video on my end.
I have the arc 5.1 set up in pretty much the same size and I agree! For me, it's not just about getting LOUD SOUNDS, but the best quality sound possible.
If you ever want to make a smart decision about speakers , buy only sonos products. If you have the money buy the arc or beam gen 2. If you don’t have that much, just get a sonos roam sl. You can purchase more sonos products down the road. I have a sonos beam gen2, sonos sub mini and two sonos ones. It’s the best sound i have ever experienced at my home.
This is a reference to what Sonos did recently to those with Arc/Sub. A software update, not reversible, trashed the sound. Immensely. It took months for the fix to come through. In the mean time we all had to listen to cardboard-box sound quality, while Sonos failed to even apologise.
