Ive had one of these units for about 2 weeks now and im blown away by what this little beast can do. The algorithms sound incredible with a really smooth, high fidelity crisp sound. Its amazing. Anyone reading this comment and is on the fence about getting the Specular Tempus, just get it. You wont regret it.
after 3:00 on #9 verb delay and I pushed subscribe , this dudes tone is beyond imaginable with this pedal , I could sit and listen to this playing all day long and be inspired for my style of music
I played one today. I think I'm keeping it. I'm surprised at how well it can do polyphonic octaves and sub-octaves if you increase the delay speed to almost be 1:1 with the played note.
Is this pedal meant to be used in front of an amp or in the amps effects loop? which is the most preferred? I own a EVH 5150 EL34 and thinking about getting the Specular Tempus.
I have this and I swear it has got me gigs in the past 😂 I really like how the power draw is so low for the quality. If they add a reserve delay, freeze/loop feature, I’ll absolutely get a second one for delays. Or maybe they’ll make one like the Synesthesia with dual engine, or, a hx effects style unit with all effects included and presets...That would be an absolute treat
Cool pedal! Could it be used as a delay and reverb? Like a normal reverb and just normal delay? I want the other stuff as well, but I wanna know I can get a normal reverb and delay out of it that sounds great together.
Hey R.J. I listened to both your demo on Source Audio Collider and this Specular Tempus. I’m so torn between them but I can only afford one. I play mostly hard rock/metal sometimes I dabble in acoustic ambient stuff. Which one would you personally use when you play heavier tones?
I have the Collider in the loop of my Friedman Great unit Had a lot of high end delays and reverbs The Collider sounds great and is very easy to use and dial in, especially live No menus to dive into I am looking at another one or this for different board I think this will probably do better at pretty soundscapes and probably better for recording
This sounds better than my Big Sky on some things. But do they even make this pedal anymore? I can't find it in any online stores. Found one used for over 500 bucks.
Technically yes, but practically no. There are six 'hybrid' algorithms that combine reverb and delay. But, you can't just choose any reverb algorithm and any delay and mix them together.
I love gfi specular tempus at first sight (hear?) so so so organic. Better than h9 or Big Sky I think. Wet and dry blend so well. Really nice in the mix. Aand it's designed in our country.. Indonesia. Gfi is our proud of pedal
Have you ever tried to switch the banks of the Specular Tempus via midi (effect switcher)? I've read somewhere that you can't switch banks arbitrarily via midi switching, you can only switch banks up and down individually. Would love to know if you or someone here made any experience with that case.
