The NHL is a better place when Stamkos is healthy and doing his thing 20 minutes a game. Hope he fully recovers from his current set of ailments. Can only imagine where he would end his career among all-time greats if his body was not always failing him.
If he were healthy we'd probably have Stamkos and Ovechkin racing towards Gretzky's goal mark. That would have been interesting. Gotta tip my hat to Ovi though, staying healthy is a skill (with a high degree of luck as well).
Oh my god i've never seen a goal like that before in my life, i've watched many different highlights from many different players including stamkos and this is the first time i seen that goal he pulled off at number 1, to me, this puts ovi's goal against phx at 2nd on my list, still a heck of a goal from ovechkin, but this one...he connects with the one timer from lecavalier, then as he's falling backwards, bats it in mid air with his backand and scores the rebound. That's just unbelievable.
We've had some amazing hockey in florida the last 20 years. Some truly great canadians have called Tampa home. I've enjoyed watching it and being apart of it.
Hey now don't forget about the Russians. Bolts are still the only team to win it all with a starting Russian goalie, which they've done three times now.
@@PhoenixThomasITB He's already better and has as many Rocket trophies. All Stammer has is a few accumulated seasons that bring his totals closer to 500 but Matthews will easily have 500 by the time he's Stammers age
Steven Stamkos is one hell of athlete. There's no two ways about it. But then you look at Steven Stamkos the man. When he's on TV or radio for an interview he don't talk about what he did he talks about what the team did we did this we did that. He doesn't call people out for not doing as good as they should have I'm sure in the locker room he may have words. He doesn't use selfish words even though he could rightfully use them, and he doesn't say things to embarrass his teammates in public. That's being a very team-oriented player. And then you look at how we leads his life, you don't hear about him getting DUIs you don't hear about domestic violence you don't hear any other scandals. He's a good man. And that is more important than anything he does on the ice.
I think you guys are missing how important Stamkos was in the season to help turning the ship around and how much his presence in the locker room and all of his speeches before, during, and after games was.
@Jeremy Banks Stammer was the one who set the standard in taking pay cuts in tampa. Days after he resigned for 8.5 mill, hedman signs for 7.8 mill. kuch, vasy, and point all took paycuts after that as well. If stammer didnt do that, who knows what that team looks like right now. not to mention he was a big part of the reason they made it into the playoffs and secured a top 2 spot, allowing them to get passed the play in round.

#3 banned in today's NHL. #1 was kind of fluky. For a guy with arguably one of the greatest one-timers in NHL history, its surprising that not a single one made this list. Perhaps too routine and not unique enough?
Dude's had over 400 goals in the NHL. How many of them have been one-timers from the faceoff circle? There's so many goals to choose from they should be picking out the flashy/unique ones. #3 was still an amazing goal even if it isn't allowed in today's game and #1 being a little lucky doesn't take away from the fact that he still knocked the puck out of the air and into the net while falling backwards. I'm shocked they decided to include a goal from the all star game though, they might as well take goals he scored in practice too.
I don't like that number 3 tho I always hate to see that

Sport Net what are you Stamkos's new agent now that he is being shopped around. In today's market I don't see any team taking that contract on a declining career. Great player but his best days are behind him and all the money owed is in front of him and the team that takes him.
Declining? He had a career year last year. 45 goals and 98 points. also hes not being shopped, he has a no-move clause that he has to waive. hes not going anywhere lol
The ONLY reason I want Tampa to win again is because i want them to win while Stamkos plays every game and lights it up like we know he can. If not for stammer I couldn't care less about Tampa.
