That sustained E6 in "Child in Time" is really powerfull! I've had the pleasure of being at 3 Tarja's concerts and she was always Amazing! Great video despairingleonardo, thank you!
In some interviews Tarja said that she doesn't like being called a "Queen" or "Goddess". But man... listen to this voice. It just wouldn't be appropriate to call her only a "good" singer. Tarja completely plays in a league of its own. Sorry Queen, but you deserve this title more than anyone else. ♥
Props to you for making this Tarja deserves something like this, and the like/dislike ratio just disappoints me at this point.. just as it's unfair and uncool to disrespect new Nightwish with Floor and type we miss Tarja on their videos, it's unfair to disrespect Tarja on her videos, people get it together.
@@Orion3G amen..absolutely disgusting....i was turned of f by reactions which included constant fowl language...but this is far worse,,,not humorous at all...i bet Floor fans would have a serious problem with it as well..
The whole Floor faning thing turned out to quite toxic at some point. Some people have a sick obsession with the floor and I think Floor fans also perceive Tarja as a threat in some way, even though Tarja is never even returning to the Night Wish. I can almost swear that the disslikes are from Floor fans who aren’t even interested in listening to Tarja singing. They just press a disslike button without listening because they thing it serves the purpose of beign hardcore Floor fan. Floor must be pretty freaked out. She probably doesn’t dare go anywhere without security guards for fear of being raped or abducted by obsessive fans.
Hahaha, ... are you under crack or born so stupid because nobody can compare Tarja's incredible voice with poor Floor's voice at all. Ps.: Simone Simons's amazing Epika female singer role model before she started singing symphonic metal was Tarja.
actually by this time she tweaked it some what. her darkest deepest, resonanant and flowing beautiful timbre was her trademark in the very early years.
Have you seen them sing together? It is magical! Both have powerful voices in diverse ways. Tarja and Floor are friends, too. I would like to see them collaborate more. Show these pop princesses how it is done!
@@dalia1598 It is poppy, you are right, but a pop princess is on autotune. So she isn't one, she doesn't need that. Her soul is metalish and that's what count.
@@dalia1598 both are a amazing performers, Floor has my respect for kinda "saving" Nightwish after Anette, but Tarja is in a whole other level. Her solo career is proof that there was life for her after being fired from NW, and what a life
All hale the REAL TRUE QUEEN 👑 of NIGHTWISH and of ALL FEMALE SYMPHONIC METAL SINGERS!!!, the very beautiful looking and very unique voice of the enchanting TARJA!!!😀👍👍👍🤘
Tarja a hang, Tarja az élő legenda, Tarja az ikon! Minden idők legjobb, és legszebb hangszínű opera, és metálénekesnője! A szimfonikus operametál meghonosítója, és egyeduralkodója mindörökké!
The fact that the two keep being compared to one each other is not only because they are (at on stage) both frontwomen of NW, but also because they are AWESOME, both of them. Can't we just enjoy their talent?
I personally, while being a Tarjaholic and a big fan of Floor, at least the way she was, would never say that she is not very talented, and will only chime on when an argument that Tarja is not worthy of respect and admiration for her rather significant role in leading NW to great fame is being made
What makes Tarja so great singer to me? Amazing singing tone (and beautiful voice) for lower notes. Dramatic and characteric way to sing lyrics, instead of straight forward singing. Nice stock of small but surprising singing tricks and gimmicks, which you don't hear other singers using too often. Strenght at high frequency notes and ability to sustain higher notes. Rather dark gothic singing tone. Recognizable sound that cannot be confused with anyone else. She can actually hit that D7 note if you just want to see her blow up a crystal goblet instead of actual singing 🤣.
I would personally have chosen some other songs, she has a boatload from her classical concerts that are light years more impressive and eloquent than her rock shows.
Her classical and christmas concerts have far better vocals than her rock/metal shows, I don't understand why, guess she tries to sound more raw and take a step aside from the 'perfect' classical singing but she is not as well trained in her chest/pop singing. She is amazing either way.
It puzzles me the direction Tarja decided to go with her metal songs. I suppose she enjoys them more, but to me her metal songs aren't sung with beautiful style any more, they jump back and forth with high head voice and some sort of artsy suffering voice. Tarja's voice has never been better than now in 2019, you can still hear it in her classical and Christmas songs, and sometimes when she sings old Nightwish songs (sometimes she wrecks those too) or when she does collaborations with other singers, for example in Paradise (What about us). Still, yes she has some good new metals songs too, where she sings beautifully instead of artistically.
Well she is not from any garage band, being a classical singer means a life full of stress printed out in sheet music where any slight little detail can ruin your whole performance. And and the end of the day Rock and Metal have never been about that, so I get why she tries to enjoy herself for her rock side and keep the seek of vocal perfection for the classical concerts, if she wanted to sound like she did during the old Nightwish days or the beggining of her solo career she totally could.
She is incredible, metal or classical, this voice is huge, but more than that she's a story teller, somehow there's something ancient and goddess like, I can think of only Lisa Gerrard who has the same vibe.
Of course she is a diva of epic classical proportions ,but Floor is simply more rock thats all...It has to do more with characters than technique..I d go to her concert easily as well
Yeah, if high notes are the thing for you. For me... that's not really it. I do love Tarja's staccatos (that "Passion of the Opera" performance is just wonderful btw), the few first videos I was wondering is this video of her staccatos, then I noticed: oh, it's about high notes. Still, a nice video.
Truthfully, Marco is 100% underrated on Phantom of the Opera. He caught my attention more than Tarja. I thought Supremacy is where she stood out on her own in power.
