Europeans are almost constantly surprised by the sheer size of the USA. You can drive 45 minutes in Europe and end up in another country. In the US, you most likely won't even make it to the next state over.
Jamel… On my first ever visit to the U.S. in 1986 (I was just 18 at the time), I found in some places I visited, people stared at me like I was from another planet when they heard my accent. I then had to dispel many myths they believed about Australians, such as us riding kangaroos to work (trust me, we DON’T) & that we wrestle crocodiles (again, we DON’T). That myth was peaked by the release of the Crocodile Dundee movie. I made a lot of friends wherever I went, including locals who had “less than reputable” images… People of all races, creeds & colours ✊😔. Nevertheless… I had a blast & times just got better on the 3 return trips I’ve made to America since then… Peace out brother ✌️😁
I am from New Zealand and on visiting the USA back in 2009 I found everyone was very friendly especially the drug dealers on the corner with sunglasses and puffer jackets on at night. They told me I could get smokes at the Drugstore (the irony was amazing) but if I needed anything else they would be happy to help. It was my accent that got everyone's attention.
We are a country of immigrants! Don't ever forget that! I'm 48. My Great Great Grandparents came to the US from Norway! We come from everywhere! We are all Americans!
I learned about the different kinds of cousines thanks to Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmerman. Just by looking at the map I can see that E.U. is huge. Also, I can count on one hand the times a person there was rude and I think all of them were border patrols. I guy once refered to my family and me as "You people".
Hopefully we get more homemade places here, and he's right where I'm at the atmosphere here isn't like a place like Las Vegas, a place like Las Vegas its busy and some parts are rough, here in my city is quiet and nearly a ghost town mostly at night, And Vegas is 200+ miles not that far so imagine how quickly a place can change within 30 miles out of your city to another. My city is mostly Arabs and Indians from India and a few Mexicans some whites not as much like it was in the 80's and mid 2000's. the time in my city is changing more, it's getting quieter as well.
There are trains that will go from Los Angeles all the way to New York even in San Francisco and it takes a different route. You might want to contact Amtrak.
About the size of the US, I would say that the US is the only country in the top 3 that people have easy access to the entire country. In Russia and Canada it seems that it is far more difficult to access more than 50-60% of those countries. Not many in Canada are driving North to the top of YT, NT or Nunavut. Not many people are driving from Moscow to Siberia. Excluding Alaska there is a lot less area that you do not have access to in the US
I would tell them that we are not just New York or California or any stereotype that they see on tv or movies. Not everyone eats fast food everyday all day long
So funny to hear people say “you can’t do that anywhere else in the world!” Um… 🙋🏻♀️ Have you ever heard about Canada? Ya… you can do that here too. 🙄
Does Childish Gambino play a part here? Speaker on the video seems to be hyping an agenda rather than giving information or context. To talk about the large number of people who don't support unlimited gun access or demographic trends that show less and less gun ownership evades talking about how gun regulation in the US allows access to firearms, and how our gun violence differs from other countries, our constitutional rights to this or that (free assembly I heard was in there?), what is a good national gun policy?? Is it strange that an automobile is way more controlled, tracked, and regulated than an assault rifle specially designed to do harm on as largely as possible? Is it really a gun conviction that convicted H. Biden? Jajajaja. He's a dangerous man! I'm still just half way through so let's see what Jamal Jamel has to say. People in the US aren't overweight? My time in airports in the US an internationally tells a different story. Lots of people in other countries are fa...heavy but the US was early and dominant to the competition, down to government food and agriculture policy: gold medal to the US in obesity. Try and tell me otherwise. 8:00 This is clearly an infomercial paid for by someone other than the narrator. It's like an AI thing where none of the points hold up if you think about them. I feel like I'm being told "Up is down" and "Black is white" as I listen. Why are you discussing it on your platform? Take it from the man.
