Something I didn't know after 250 hours is that you can release pokemon as you catch them with the far right tab. My boxes would have so much less clutter if I knew that earlier.
I won't sell my first shiny or any that I find interesting (design, location, found during event, etc) but selling a shiny to bankroll a shiny to use in a breed on your desired ot shiny is something I'm all about
I do remember having to trade with a cord. Also if I wanted to play at night without my parents knowing, I had that light that plugged into the side of your gameboy. All battery powered too. I think of this every time I look at the three full packs of AA batteries I've gotten for Christmas from my mom the last few years.
These videos never cease to amaze me. You are so incredibly helpful, and I love how positive you come across. You can tell you really are passionate about this game and that is infectious! Just recently started after finding out this game was real. I'd always dreamed of playing pokemon as an mmo, ever since I played red on the original gameboy. I was so naive that I couldn't figure out how to leave the house for an hour. I even used my master ball on a ponyta, not knowing it was 1 of a kind. These guides are tremendously helpful in giving me guidance on how to proceed how I want through the game. But if I may ask, why do you name your timestamps "tip" with no other description? Your 63 tips video is great, but I watch your videos at work and if hear information I need, I have to search through your entire videos to refind the tip I was looking for. Is there no way to add a description to each tip?
I know this is a year late, but just in case this might still be useful to you or someone else who stumbles upon this: There is an extension called "Seek Subtitles for RU-vid" that let's you search through the contents of a video even if the creator doesn't mark or timestamp the video.

Nice ! Could you make a video of tips and tricks in pokemmo? Like holding shift and selecting many Pokémon to move or release. Or hold control and click on a Pokémon to move them between your PC and party. Those kind of tips that makes your life easier moving around.
Story is harder... makes sense. Im getting old, struggled very hard with the 3rd gym on my first region and was so confused because I remembered it being so so easy when I was a kid.
I noticed the AI was better but I wasn't sure if they actually had 6x31Ivs, so thank you for confirming it! Should I be selling any 1x31, or should I keep them if I want to make that pokemon later? I also didn't realize Nature was more important than IV, kinda wish I paid more attention to that.
Feel free to sell all 1x31s, u can always buy them later to make ur own with no downsides, i ignored nature SO much when i was newer haha, for way too long even, glad u learned sooner!
I find it cool that you went into a bit of detail about the shinies. I recall making a comment a while back on your one video about tips for beginners? I think it was? I don't remember what it was, but I said I guess selling shinies is an option. Those rates are insane, I probably wouldn't sell one just based on the rates. Unless it's one that sells for like more money than I would know what to do with, cuz I really don't care for shinies. But having a 1/30k would probably make me not even consider selling it.
im not sure if you still check comments but as soon as i finished setting up the game and choosing my starter (squirtle, i chose him before i saw this vid), someone just gave me a free charmander as a giveaway so the community seems nice and im already hooked
@@akashrakshit2657 since I posted this comment, I got two shiny tentacruel (very lucky), sold them both, for $1.150.000 and $1.349.999 respectively. I used this money to buy some pokemons for PvP, and I don't regret it at all, it saved me time and I had a lot of fun.
I had no idea how lucky i was!! I started this game for the very first time 2 days ago. I started in kanto and encountered a shiny Paris in Mt. Moon. Insanely low level of encounters! But my dog knocked my headphones off my desk and i was auto pilot knocking pokemon out to train a little. I had no idea it was shiny until i read, shiny paris was defeated or whatever the wording is! I'll be kicking myself over that one for a long time!! 😢
It took me 37 hours to clear all 4 regions with my alt character, I just bought 4 Sandile with moxie ability and that was pretty easy to go, I think that someone very well prepared could do it in 33 hours maybe less, nice vid Pat' :)
I always think that if i Beat the game using someone pokemon and not my OT, the feeling Will be different, it Will be less satisfying than Beat the game using my army that i catch them myself
I feel the opposite, I think it’s cool to get a Pokémon someone either spent time breeding or caught a good roll on or even played through the game with. I’ve been using my own Pokémon to beat the game for over 20 years so it’s cool to have some options and Pokémon with almost a background to them, adds a bit more to the game in my opinion. It is always special though to have OTs of your own to go through the journey with.
Same here but during my Hoenn play through, I just got surf and was making my way to the Flying Gym, when I FORGOT to put on my Super Repel, out came a Shiny Wingull, awesome rain setter with Drizzle, such a beast. Funny enough I also had it shiny in the original games!
what happens when you overlevel a mon passed a gym? Let's say for example.... Gym leader Whitney really frustrates you, so you level up a fighting type pokemon to level 33. Would that mon not be allowed to be used in that battle? or would the mon that you caught on your team become disobedient? Would your starter also do the same thing?

Patrouski is the goat! The biggest recommendations I can give a new player are save as much money as you can untill you beat all the regions and join pats discord. The discord is super helpfull and amazing for mid to late game money making.

My buddy got a shiny onix in his first johto play through on pokemmo, literally played the game for 6 days maybe 25 hours, I have encountered around 24000 pokemon through hunting, not 1 shiny
so you mention nature +10% being a huge difference, i have one timburr that's 31 attk 31 speed but mild nature, and another with 20 attk and 18 speed but lonely nature, which is better?
great video patrouski! I think your maths was a little off about deEVing pokemon tho: you said it would take 260k to take away EV from HP, DEF, SPATK and SPDEF. But 180 EV is 18 berries, which at 1000k a piece comes out for a total of 18k. Not a huge deal, but my brain wouldn't let it go.
Speaking about saving pokeyens if you have 4 gym badges you could use GTL to buy premier balls which is just as good as great balls but cheaper (as of rn).
I started few days ago and my first sandile encounter was shiny, i almost sold it but luckily watched this first. Even tho shiny sandile and its evolutions are imo the ugliest shinies
6:12 260k? those berries sell at the gtl for 950 each, it'd cost you 18k to get all the berries for that another possibility is ev training during the storyline so you already have ev trained mons

thanks for these tips, they are very helpful. i recently started and liked it soo much i decided to put it on my phone too. question, i know two of the pokeballs spinning above a player's head shows that they are either battling a real player and npc, what does the other one mean?
Unfortunately i believe the catch rates are custom, BUT i usually use the gen 5 catch rate calc (here: www.dragonflycave.com/calculators/gen-v-catch-rate) to get a GENERAL idea of what it might be, but usually PokeMMO is much tougher
question. do you think we will get gen 6,7,8 or 9 in the future? i dont know how this stuff works but 3d models can be applied on roms right?like if a roblox game managed to do so(rip brick bronze)they should be able to do it right?again,im no developer so i dont know how hard it would be but it would be a pretty cool addiction.

@@patrouski yeah it should be a thing. especially since you can spend money on your account you should be able to replay with your cosmetics/items instead of making a new account with none of your stuff
if its not worth selling because theyre so rare then why keep a shiny? for bragging rights? if their ivs are bad or theyre just a bad pokemon for battling then whats the point in keeping them if youre not interested in collecting them or having them. To me shiny pokemon are cool but unless its something like a shiny Rayquaza (yes I know you cant have legendaries in pokemmo) then I honestly couldnt care less about it so the only value it would have to me is how much it can sell for. Maybe bragging but at the end of the day, even that doesnt have any value because its like saying "hey im better than you ive got a shiny" when that just simply isnt the case in any way and only looks bad on yourself (just my opinion when it comes to bragging about things, not just pokemon)
No you need to trade with another player for an evolution, you can usually find CMs in global chat though if u dont want to trust a random person. Most people willing to help in my discord is also safe. Scamming is against the rules, so most people arent willing to risk getting perma banned for a storyline mon or even a 5x31 pokemon.
@@Skyvoicei dont think you can catch legendaries besides for the "dogs" as of currently. That's also why you dont see anyone carry a legendary at all.
Which region do I have to start in pokemmo to get pokemon from red. Just started yesterday and all these new pokemon are unfamiliar to me so I wanted to start with one of the more basic games like Fire red or green.
