My biggest problem is coming up with a book, letting it marinate, figuring out my mc, and then before I can get enough pieces together to start writing, I come up with drastically different idea, and repeat

Just gotta pick one and stick with it for a bit. When the new ideas pop up just write down whatever you can and then go back to the main project. Eventually it’ll get done

One thing I wish I could have told my younger self was to leave my ego at the door. As a teenager and an early twenty-something, I thought I was hot-shit and that any criticism I received was an attempt to brainwash me. How wrong I was about all of that. Criticism is a normal part of the creative process. Yes, it hurts sometimes, but only in the sense of ripping off a Band-Aid. My career would be nonexistent if not for my beta readers, editors, and critique partners. I’m eternally grateful for their support.

It's a lesson we all need to learn. We're not infallible, even deep into our careers. We're all still learning and growing and doing our best. It's just in our best interest to let others help us with that along the way ^__^
