This village from the 1800s lets you live like people did back then. The village shows what life was like in a small town in rural English Canada. It has more than 40 historic buildings. There are a few mills and trades buildings that are still in use, as well as a church and a doctor's house.

The Grand Theatre is not only one of the best theatres in the city, but it is also a historical site. Since 1902, when it first opened, the theatre has hosted many shows. Sir John Alexander Macdonald, Canada's first Prime Minister, lived in Bellevue House. It is now a national historic site and a museum. The house was one of the first places in the country to be built in the style of an Italian villa, and it was also one of the best. It has three floors, balconies, windows in different shapes, and different kinds of roof gables. It is a beautiful house that is full of artefacts and exhibits and also has videos that teach people about different things. Guides dressed in clothes from the 1840s will show you around the house and tell you everything you need to know about its history.
Number 3.BOOK A TOUR TO A PRISON

Kingston Penitentiary was a prison with the highest level of security. It was shut down in 2013. It was known that some of the most dangerous criminals in Canada were kept there. Today, anyone can visit the famous prison. Visit one of the oldest prisons in the country and see what it was like to be locked up. A tour of the prison will take about 90 minutes and be led by a guide. You can bring a camera, so be sure to be ready.

What is "the village" ? in Kingston--never heard of it. Are you talking about Upper Canada Village?

I have no idea what video you are showing when you talk about visiting a "village" is it Kingston in the 18oo's? Kingston has no historical 'village" or buildings to visit--you must be talking about Upper Canada Village .

Upper Canada Village is located at Morrisburg about 2 hour drive east of Kingston on the 401.

You talk about visiting City hall and you show NO photos of it--but you show RMC and Fort Henry and Kingston Pen as you talk. Are you confused?

Terrible video. "Stay in a cabin by the water?" Where is that? there are no cabins for rent in Kingston by the lake.

Fort Henry that you visit today was built in 1830 not 1812 (it was a wooden garrison at that time) This structure today was completely restored during the depression in the 1930's . The Fort Henry Guard that mans the Fort in the summer months is a world renown military re-enectment regiment that represents a British military regiment of 1867. A complete spectacle that includes drill , a battle sequence and a band parade as well as firing all the guns on the east battery is available to ticket holders on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer. Its the only show of its kind in the world--better look it up buddy--you have missed it big time.

What a joke. I have lived here for 56 years. You do mention that the "do gooders" took down Sr. John A's statue. Or this was the 1st capital, or how and why the Rideau was built. You show KYC, a private yacth club when talking about pulic water. There are Many great things in Kingston, but I am guessing you do not live hear and just read the tour guide for the area to make this video. And for others Kingston signs say population 130,000 people. I did not hear that Kingston is the fresh water sailing capital of the world. Hosting C.O.R.K. (Canadian Olympic Regata Kingston) a qualifier to the Olympic sailing.
