Eddy is honestly one of the most human and well written characters in Cartoon Network history (and history in general) A greedy and self absorbed kid who acts tough, but did it all to fit in and because that’s what he was taught by his older brother And even though it wasn’t too heavily explored in the show The movie did a great job showing it
They keep saying the network will be bringing content for ALL ages to watch...but I've yet to see any of it premiere. No Warriors Eternal, no Driftwood, no Ivandoe...not even The Night Begins to Shine
Mordecai and Margaret's break up felt amazingly real and realistic, since sometimes our dreams don't always align with a partner's. I cried at that episode, and the finale!
I hate “Steak Me Amedus” SO MUCH! It’s my own fault because every time I saw the preview I got more and more hyped thinking there’s no way Margaret was going to say no to Mordecai after season 4 spent so much time making them so close, and then the episode aired and my dreams and heart shattered into a billion pieces. I literally cried for half an hour nonstop after the episode ended and then once I finally calmed down I just went straight to bed.
I wholeheartedly agree. "The Mask" was one of the more realistic and troubling episodes. Plus, it's the one time where the show went into thriller territory.
The Courage episode The Mask is pretty serious and has an important lesson that people aren’t always they seem and that everyone is capable of having prejudice ideas but can learn to let go of such thoughts to become a better person. Kitty thought all dogs were evil because Bunny was being abused by one and forced to not speak to her friend and Courage didn’t like Kitty because she was a cat and she also kept beating him senseless every time they were alone. They learn that they both aren’t so bad once Bunny is rescued from her abuser.
The moment where Eddy get bullied by his older brother and his friends came saving him from his brother and Eddy told Double D that everything he said about his brother was all of a lie, it was truly a gut punch.
I was sad that Ashi has fade away on the wedding before Samurai Jack eyes, luckily the videogame Battle Through Time has giving us an alternative ending.
Also, Dexter’s Laboratory had a Career Day episode, in which Dexter is very unsure about his dad’s job and how to show it, but then he learns that his dad’s profession is one that his classmates admire.
Shows like "Dexter's Laboratory" "Foster Mansion" and "Ed Edd 'n Eddy" were My Childhood. Thanks and happy thursday Ms Mojo, hope i see You soon for more, take care.
did u mean "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends"? Its a long name so i dont blame u for misremembering, or was it called something different where ur from?
@@gred_and_forge sorry, i'm from Colombia , and the name of the show in spanish is "Mansion Foster para amigos imaginarios" so, sorry again if i got wrong the name of the show.
@@samuelcollantes1175 😊 no worries, u didn't get it wrong, the name I said is what it's called in USA, interesting though to hear what it was called in Colombia. Although it does make more sense since Ms Foster's house is pretty much a mansion. But yeah Fosters was one of my childhood favorites too!
I haven't seen that one in its entirety but from its appearance on this list alone I got tge gist of it. I do also still want to watch the whole episode. Awww! Poor Courage!
Should’ve put on one of the episodes when Steven and Connie had bad memories to deal with in ‘Here comes a Thought’ or the Future when Steven had those attacks he couldn’t control nor deal with it until it turned him into a ‘Pink Godzilla’
For the Powerpuff Girls, I actually thought about when they traveled to the past, in which we learn that the professor was a horrible brat in his childhood. There was also the episode that showed us the professor’s old friend Dick, who turned out to be a jerk and a scammer.
I know for a fact that the reason Terra did terrible things was because Slade forced her to do so, especially to Beast Boy. Speaking of which, I wish something like this happened in Ben 10 Alien Force/Ultimate Alien because of Greg Cipes (Beast Boy and Kevin Levin) and Ashley Johnson (Terra and Gwen Tenyson)
When Courage was having his supper when he was drinking milk, he was very shocked when he saw the list of missing dogs on the Milk bottle. It reminded him what happened when he was a baby with his parents were taking to outer space.
I think The Earl of Lemongrab is more tragic than The Ice King QUITE honestly. How it feels to not be understood/accepted by anyone, ESPECIALLY the PRINCESS that made you. It hits the part of me that feels like they’re too much to be loved fully. “I’m alone! And you made me like this.” 😢😢😢
Number 10 - I always know he will be return alive and unhurted . Number 9 - I expected that but I can feel Jack's pain . Number 8 - I was so much sad for Dexter and I never wanted to see him again like that . Number 7 - more sad that number 8 that I cried inside and outside . Number 6 - Completely shocked and mad when he remain in that form at fhe finaly Number 5 - I was like "WTF ! RIGHT NOW ? C'MONN" . Number 4 - I want to hug Bloo over 100 times . Number 3 - My heart was shreder and I didn't want to believe this Number 2 - So sad but that make me to love more much Marcy and Simon, they are great Number 1 - Not even Eddy deserve sufering like that
I surprised by how much House of Bloo's resonates with me as I've gotten older. Since my High School Graduation, I've been through several address changes as my colleges and jobs keep changing and I don't always know what "Home" really means anymore, so this episode really helps me feel like I'm not alone.
My favorite moment is on spongebob when Patrick can show a smart side sometimes and that sometimes spongebob and Patrick really can stand up and be grateful to others.
Here’s what I learned: Mordecai in the aftermath of not being to go steady with Margaret made him a SIMP and Courage is one good dark show with good lessons
I thought Gumball’s episode The Choices would make the list showing the struggles of one’s choices whether it’s loving your school sweetheart, moving out of your parent’s home angry, and etc
Terra's sacrifice is the worst thing I've ever seen. She mustn't to be dead. She was just a girl with uncontrolled powers, a by-her-side girl who needs a hand to support her. Beast Boy/ Garfield Logan was supposed to be that hand that she needs. Darn it Cartoon Network for not concluded that mystery!
I shocked that samurai Jack season 5 finale episode had a tragic outcome despite his victory against the evil demon aku his bride to be asi disappeared in front of his eyes leaving our hero heartbroken that was sad yes but it gave it meaning
My short opinions and thoughts about these serious moments of Cartoon Network: 10: Disturbing but he was alive at the end. 9: Dark moment and Jack feeling sad for losing Ashi 8: Is very hard to believe in yourself 7: Sad story for an abandoned pup 6: Animal mistreatment but I loved the ending 5: Forced and sad ending for a break up couple 4: Is very hard to be separated by someone closer 3: A true titan is a true close friend and hero. 2: Never watched it but is very dark moment 1: I feel genuinly bad about Eddy getting bullied by his older brother and the morals went too far, but at least Eddy's brother got his well deserved karma punishment at very end.
I’m only here for Dexter and Fosters. I’m 29 now and I haven’t watched a Cartoon Network show since Dragons was on a decade ago. I was 5 when Dexter started and 11 when Foster’s started. I nowadays like to watch a bit less mean spirited cartoons.
It's not Eddy's fault that his brother's a jerk. I remember watching that show when I was a kid and thinking "Where's his brother?". Now I know why they didn't put him in the show and I'm glad he got what was coming to him.
You guys do a lot of sitcoms and when they dealt with serious issues. Could you guys possibly do a list for Mom with Allison Janney and Anna Faris? I know the main component of the show is addiction/alcoholism, but they also dealt with starting your life over (Christy went back to college and law school after getting sober), gambling, sexual assault, domestic violence, death of a fellow addict from Alcoholics Anonymous.
Even though I'm very emotional I don't cry because of emotional moment especially when I was younger I almost always had a blank face but the episode about Courage's parents made me cry rivers. It was so sad😭 I love things that make me sad and I love watching or reading things that make my heart hurt from sadness but I rarely shed a tear. That episode has been the only thing in fiction that has made me cry so much.
Ironically Ashi shouldn't have been erased from existence, she was actually supposed to continue exist, even if the main timeline changed the one she was born in would still exist.
Courage lost his previous family, but till the day another family took him to his new home peacefully, in the end, his parents are alive on the moon along with the other dogs gotten their revenge on that twisted veterinarian. As for Mordecai and Margaret would’ve been still together, but then she broke up with him, having to seeing him again and again in the Christmas episode when CJ caught him kissing her, and then CJ broke up with Mordecai having to be single again, which it deeply damage their relationship forced herself not to date with anyone again and move on permanently. Terra was really a good friend, until Slade aka Death Stroke forced her to persuade him, fact his deepest hatred against the Titans and everyone, but either way Death Stroke deserved to die in hell.💀 Eddy’s brother was a idiot, he look up to him thought he could be trusted, but he’s never the brother to look up at him which the reason he bully him just to humiliate him.
These sad serious and rough moments from most of the cartoon shows of Cartoon Network really hit harder when you really understand how serious they are to viewers and public.
The moment I saw Ashi tumble after Aku's death back in 2017, I felt like a missing piece of my heart was there like a hole. I realized why, Ashi disappears because Aku was her father and No Aku = No Ashi. Speaking of which, I'm sick and tired of Tara Strong having all the good roles since I found out she voices Ashi. It's high-time somebody else fills her shoes
These dark but violent moments of these cartoon shows are a really proof that we grew up with them during our nostalgic childhood memories back then when cartoon shows were the high peak.
I like all my favorite serious Cartoon Network moments on the DVDs or on TV like Billy's Supposed Death The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy and The Wedding Samurai Jack and Picture Day Dexter's Laboratory and Courage's Origins Courage The Cowardly Dog and Mitch & Twiggy The Powerpuff Girls and Mordecai & Margaret's Breakup Regular Show and Adjusting To A New Life Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends and Terra's Sacrifice Teen Titans and Ice King's Origins Adventure Time and Eddy's Brother Ed, Edd N Eddy
Some honorable mentions: Heather's sad backstory in the special episode of TDI (Total Drama) Ben thinks that Gwen was dead (Ben 10 Classic, Secrets Of The Omnitrix) Wilt's tragic story in Good Wilt Hunting (Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends) Steven rapid agging (Steven Universe) Nigel Uno's Dad being overpowered by evil Father (Codename Kids Next Door)
Cartoon Network bring back cartoons like Dexter's Laboratory, Cow and Chicken etc. You had a dedicated timeslot for it last 2020. It was every night at 11 pm. [In my country, Idk if the U.S had the same]. But I only got to watch the repeats of Dexter's Laboratory before the repeats of Gumball took it away.
No thanks in Cow and Chicken. Great theme song but that Devil still gives me horrible flashbacks. 😂 Maybe an older version of Dexter could be cool. To see where he goes after. Even if it becomes an a Adult Swim, would not mind. CN would probably just dumb it down.
You can actually tell when an episode was going to be silly and when an episode was going to be serious for Teen Titans based on the Theme Song. If the episode was going to be goofy the Theme song would be in Japanese. If the episode was going to be serious the Theme song would be in English.
I solely agree with a vast majority of the pics...I still see the failed opportunity to mention the swat kats... heres 2 episodes for ya A bright and shiny future: our heroes learn of their own demise while combating the metallikats and their robot army Razors edge: (my personal favorite) as the 4th episode of season 2 it not only is a great episode it's also the first time we see razor deeply depressed and lacking self confidence after a failed attempt to stop dark kat..believing he hurt innocent people razors is forced to battle with himself mentally and gradually he loses and becomes a shell of his former self Please talk about these two episodes in a future list
Why Cartoon Network went from being a really awesome channel to a poor shadow version of its glory years is beyond me. They had a lot of great tv shows that were axed down the line. A pity. These lists remind us of the glory days.
