#1's the first trick I've ever seen by David. From that day on I've been straight-up confused and fascinated and slightly disturbed by his work. I don't particularly want to know how he does these things; it would ruin my enjoyment of him. Besides, when it comes to stage and street magicians, the real magic is in making your audience see something bizarre or mind-blowing and leaving them to wonder how you did it.

the ice pick trick is just mind over matter. it is simply amazing what you can train your body to do and not do. Aghori tribesmen and Asian monks can do the exact same stuff after years of meditation and practice, that "stuff" being piercing yourself with sharp rods without pain bleeding or injury afterward. Hell even David Blaine doesn't have shit on Mirin Dajo who could pierce his torso with swords without injury, they even took Xrays in the 1940s of Mirin Dajo with swords in his body

+tsili n. my grandpa had it as well, he cut himself but there wasn't any blood, atleast not right away. It was due to poor circulation. It is possible under specific circumstances.

it really isnt though.... the maximum delay that could happen is mere seconds after the hole was made even with bad circulation . plus in this case the guy doesnt even have holes so its obviously an illusion .

Swallowing a ring and then putting a bent (But intact) coat hanger down his throat to retrieve the ring is insane - you would normally have to untwist the coat hanger, slide the ring on, and then twist the top of the coat hanger back together. If this wasn't set up off screen then he is clearly from another world.

It's weird that some people like to think magicians have demonic powers when we clearly don't.. But it was kinda satisfied to see the girl I like reacting to a simple hand trick(I did good enough). As if I (i am mysterious by default anyways) am this not human.... It kinda was satisfying.. Very ironic I was the one who thought magicians have made deals with satan and blah blah... After becoming one and realizing its not the case... I get such reactions from people at the high school.... Magic is a great art indeed... Especially when it's satisfying to see great reactions...

A lot of David Blaine's tricks aren't really magic tricks. He just learned how to do things, like how to sword swallow and eat glass and regurgitate frogs. It's not sleight of hand or anything, it's just that most people have never seen this stuff.

Many of his tricks are really not tricks, he does really puts a ice pick through his hand and it doesn't bleed, not because he is a demon but because he learned by years of practice how to control pain and also gained scarring (like a earring doesn't bleed after some time), this kind of stuff is done by many street performers, specially in India where I think this originates.
