Yeah that's called a top change - very common sleight in magic, this trick is called the two card Monte in case you're interested :)

I caught it the second time, because you can tell exactly which card he's going to swap, so you track that.

That's why David was throwing in many, many distractions to prevent that from happening. Asking Bush to think of a number, him holding is hands, him shaking his hands, him guessing that number all the while David is still conserving with him also. All these distractions prevented George from noticing that David was taking off his watch.

To clarify, he did not change both cards at this time. The very first move which you don't see much of in the video he does a double lift in which he shows what I believe is an Ace of Spades and then when he flips the double lift back over there is a red King on top. At that point there's one red King there already, and then as you point out he swaps the other Ace, the Ace of clubs, out for the other Red King.

He even looks away suddenly to draw everybody's attention away from his hands. Misdirection.

Congratulations, you figured out how to do two-card-monty. It's only the most popular card trick in the world at this point. Farzana Patel, it's a mentalism trick, a very basic one. Thought-of numbers almost always involve a 7. Ask for a number between 1-10, 80% of people will say 7. Ask for a number between 1-20, 80% will say 17. A trick I do often is culling a card to the 27th position in the deck (One past half, which is where the card will naturally go if someone has selected a card and then you do an even split with the remaining 51) and then tell them to "Name a number between 10-30, but keep it high, make it hard for me." 80% of people will say 27 and then you just have the spectator themselves count the cards right to 27, and watch their amazement as the card is sat right where they said it would be, and you didn't do anything, very rarely someone will say either 28 or 26, and in that event, you just cull the necessary cards with either a double-count or passing the necessary number of cards to the bottom of the deck. But almost always, they'll choose 27. I've never had anyone pick a number other than 26, 27, or 28. But most often, it's 27. No idea why, every mentalist knows this though. One of the first things you learn.
