I think this list needs to be redone. Lots of DCOMs were left out. What about gender stereotypes in Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-Off. Eddie was teased at school because he wanted to cook. In other ppl's eyes cooking was only for girls. What about loss of sight in Going To The Mat, where a blind boy ended up becoming a wrestler at school. Also Miracle In Lane 2 which is about the first boy with a disability to win the All American Soapbox Derby.

This is why I miss the old Disney from my childhood in the 2000’s and early 2010’s. They actually had morals to the story and weren’t afraid to tackle serious issues. Now because everyone is so soft nowadays, they don’t want to “offend” everyone. Kids today will not understand the joy we had watching these movies.
@jayekisses

Facts! Yes mental illness & triggers should be talked about & treated properly but sheltering the kids of today is not helping them. I miss when Disney took risks & could talk about serious issues without being afraid of what the helicopter parents & the Karen’s thought about it .

So many movies I forgot about. Taking me down memory lane. The most special one being "Tru Confessions".. My older brother has low functioning autism so I appreciate this movie alot. Opening kids eyes to others on the autism spectrum. Very few kid movies back then had representation for the autism spectrum. This movie made me cry. I related with the sister so much. I still tear up thinking about it. This movie means so much to me.

Cadet Kelly seemed to have serious issues with fashion, because it's wrong to wear gaudy jewelry in military school when you're in Kelly Collins' shoes. My mom loves that DCOM so much that she may order a copy of it online someday.

What about Camp Rock? Now I know what you are going to say, “Camp Rock didn’t tackle serious issues”! Yes it did, Mitchie was lying about who she was and what her mother did, and the majority of the camp (Shane) included turned against when her lie was revealed! Now, if that’s not tackling a serious issue, then I don’t know what is!
@JanieGal16

The whole bit talking about Tru Confession was filled with backhanded ableism. “Developmentally delayed?” “Mentally challenged?” Neuro-typical people try so hard to make themselves feel more comfortable around people like me that the real problem (I.e. civil rights and basic freedoms) is forgotten. Just say disabled. It’s not a dirty word. 9 times out of 10 people with actual disabilities aren’t going to be offended.

Top ten lessons we can learn from Disney channel series/movies 1. Making a difference (that's so raven true colors) Honorable mention .don't give in to peer pressure (Hsm) .don't let greed overcome you (suite life of Zack and Cody it's a mad hotel) .family is about loyalty (Jessie are you cooler than 5th grader) 2. Be who you are (camp rock) 3. Being a regular person (suite life poor little rich girl) 4. It's pointless without love (Austin and ally relationship and red carpet) 5. Neither a borrower nor lender be (suite life of Zack and Cody) 6. Lose your selfish ways (suite life on deck a London carol) 7. Be creative with your studies (Austin and ally senior and senor) 8. Be careful what you say or wish for (wizards of waverly place the movie ) 9. Rules are useful to keep everyone safe (wizards of waverly place a disenchanted evening) 10. Pilot your own life (suite life of Zack and Cody)

With one exception (Lemonade Mouth), every movie on this list was from the 2000s decade… makes sense; it was when DCOMs were at their peak. … And no Z-O-M-B-I-E-S in sight, even if they did try to other minority groups-zombies are an analogy to black people, werewolves to indigenous people, aliens to Latinos-and did so poorly.
