Veteran Chaffee+hmg+recce is 225 pts for essentially the same firepower as the Lee sans light at but+hmg. It's by far my favorite tank in war thunder as it's been my loyal companion in that light tank spot in my Japanese army for years. Without this video I wouldn't have known it was the monster it is, definitely gonna pick up a model or two.
You describe the m3 lee as being a hold over from the interwar period. As I understand it it was an attempt to put a 75mm into a medium tank originally designed for a 37mm in the least amount of time. The turret ring was to small for a turret holding a 75 so they stuck the big gun in the hull and left the old turret where it was
Interestingly, the newest errata (March 2022) says the Battle of the Bulge version of the Free French DO get Gyro Stablizers since they pick from the American book where that increase is included in the price (why Americans have to pay for their national special rule in the first place though...).
love your videos. FYI The difference between a Cromwell/MkVii Centaur CS is the first one has a bow machine gun and the other does not . That is why one cost 205 points and the other 195 points. It took me a while to figure out why the cost was not the same.
Be happy its on the list at all honestly lol. It’s a pretty mediocre vehicle but honestly a must have for a US collection IMO. They dont get a whole lot of options for that armored car slot. Also if you field light AT guns enough you’ll eventually get some lucky rolls with them and you’ll be happy your 120 pt car killed a PzIV
@@HollywoodWargaming thanks for the reply :) My friend has the Band of Brothers starting set and I bought a Waffen SS and a US Army and some more vehicles so we are trying to go higher in points slowly. We had a 500 and a 750 pts game so far ... it is a lot of fun :) But I still need to get my Bolt Action rule book and play about 100 more games to appreciate everything you say :) But I will get there :) Do you think a 8x4 gaming table is an overkill? I have two 4x4 mats. Sigh. Maybe I need to get just one 6x4.
