Madonna's Ghostown , Girl Gone Wild , Masterpiece , Hold Tight , God Control , Turn up the radio one of those shouldve been on there i understand why you chose oh father but her new stuff is overlooked her new stuff doesnt get any attention and doesnt chart nobody talks about it thats what i call underrated they had beautiful messages but no one cares because madonnas over 50 she needs more attention in this century ( sorry madonna fan here )
Also, quite a few of her songs off her third album 'Britney' are as well, such as 'Cinderella' & 'What's It's Like to Be Me" in which JT is the backing vocals because they produced the song together. Both are very underrated tunes of hers.
I would have thought if they were going to be put a love type song of hers it would have been "You and I." That song has a country vibe to it so it's underrated in that aspect. Then there's "Government Hooker" which I love the commentary in those lyrics. She has a few underrated gems. :)
Kirsten N well yeah but I don’t think You and I is that underrated. The song reached number 6 at the Billboard hot 100 chart, went 3x platinum in the US and was nominated for a Grammy :) If I were to choose an underrated song of hers (that is a single) it would be Marry the Night, honestly I think that song deserved to go number one! But like you said she has so many underrated songs, enough to fill this list three times over haha
Bad Girl (Madonna), Illegal (Shakira), Miracle (Whitney Houston), One by One (Cher), Whatever You Want (Tina Turner), Forever (Sandra), How Could an Angel Break My Heart (Toni Braxton), Every Time (Janet Jackson). Britney's Criminal, Madonna's Oh Father, Kelly Clarkson's All I Ever Wanted are amazing though
The Umbrella Corporation Sandra doesn't have a strong voice but at least, her voice is really recognizable and interesting. Her 80s and 90s music is great. You could hear her voice in Enigma's songs too
I agree but am i the only one that believes Madonna's ghostown , Girl gone wild , hold tight , Masterpiece god control are more underrated than oh father i just wish those songs would be seen for their meaning instead of her age they should gotten airplay attention and high chart performance so underrated but i highly agree with those songs they are underrated too
Run Away With Me - Carly Rae Jepsen (or anything by her lol) Vroom Vroom - Charli XCX Til It Happens To You - Lady Gaga Supercut - Lorde (by far the best song on Melodrama) Deja Vu/Act My Age/It Takes Two - Katy Perry Music to Watch Boys To - Lana Del Rey (Speechless should be #1 imo)
You Lost Me was written by Aguilera and Sia. She was the first who saw the potential in Sia. Aguilera is such a supportive artist, can make unknown known like A Great Big World. She supports young and talented like Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga and she's always ahead of the time. I respect her. Plus, her new album is amazing.
‘Red’ by Taylor Swift, ‘Don’t Say You Love Me’ by Fifth Harmony and ‘Fix A Heart’ by Demi Lovato are some of my personal Female Singers Underrated Songs.
Bionic, Lotus (listen to blank page 😢), Liberation all are so underrated !! Even Christina herself is underrated! All too well is pretty underrated. My fav Taylor track. Criminal by Britney Spears is popular in my country!!
Beyoncé has a TON of underrated hits! Most people (except dedicated fans like myself) don’t take the time to listen to every track on her albums. Green Light, Flaws And All, XO, Ring Off, Heaven and Speechless are only a few!
Jennifer Love Hewitt - Barenaked Deana Carter - Did I shave my legs for this Thundermother - We fight in the name of Rock and Roll Shakira - Pies Descalsoz Bjork - Army of me Stevie Nicks - I can't wait
Madonna has a lot of underrated songs: Oh Father, Nothing Really Matters, What It Feels Like For a Girl, Love Profusion, Hollywood, Rain, Dress You Up, Sky Fits Heaven, Swim, I Deserve It, How High, Love Spent, Living For Love, Nobody Knows Me...
Lloyd Llaneta for Celine, I would like to offer up “If There Were Any Other Way,” (Unison). Whitney is a harder one to peg, as damn near all of her releases were successful and enduring. Maybe “Exhale” from the soundtrack for “Waiting to Exhale”?
I agree with you. All these young women are accomplished females singers. The songs listed were certainly underrated, and should have been given more of a chance by their fans!!!!
hell yeah, all too well! it's not underrated in the swifities fandom but its definitely underrated all over. it's the most beautifully heartbreaking song.
I thought a lot of these were some weird choices. Most of these songs weren’t singles, moreso making them songs that people should know as opposed to underrated. I think if we were choosing underrated songs tracks that should’ve been picked by these artists were XO for Beyoncé, Everyday for Ariana, Kiss It Better for Rihanna, Stone Cold by Demi Lovato, etc
10) One of her best songs, I didn't know that Sia was involved 8) I found it, 2 months ago, on youtube and I loved it, it's different 5) I knew Adele because of this song (on SYTYCD) and the first time I listened to it I cried 4) EVERY Rupaul's drag race fan knows it, I listen to it everyday at the gym 3) I LOVE THIS SONG, it's the song that I used to use to prove to people that she can sing
can y’all ever give proper credit to britney spears? she either doesn’t make these lists or is at the bottom. Criminal literally is such an underrated pop gem. Should’ve been at least top 5.
Those were huge in their time. A Thousand Miles was unescapable in the early 00s. Criminal launched Fiona's career, same with Tori's Crucify and, to some extent, Skater boi (though Complicated did that too). How are they underrated? Of course they aren't played as much as now - most are close to 20 years old.
Johnny Fountains But that doesn't make them underrated. They were huge when they came out - it's just that happened 20 years ago (Crucify is even older than that).
Because she's a one hit wonder and her one hit was exactly the one you chose as underrated: A Thousand Miles. Also, only people who are very young don't remember her hit. Most remember the song, even if they can't name the singer. If you want to claim she's an underrated singer, fine, that's a matter of opinion, however choosing her biggest hit which was pretty big when it came out and claim it as underrated... no, just no. And I am saying this as a person who is a fan of some songs you mentioned like Crucify and Criminal. In fact, I am still a fan of both Fiona and Tori. But songs that made them big are the wrong choices when the topic is "underrated"
