Here are 10 unmade movies I would’ve been very curious to see. They’re ranked by the ones I would want to see the least to the most 10. George Lucas’ Star Wars Sequels 9. Robert Rodriguez’s Escape from New York remake 8. David Fincher’s Elliot Ness Graphic Novel adaptation 7. Sylvester Stallone’s Edgar Allen Poe film starring Robert Downey Jr. 6. Tim Burton’s Superman Lives starring Nicolas Cage as Superman 5. Lord & Miller’s Solo: A Star Wars Story 4. Christopher Nolan’s Howard Hughes biopic starring Jim Carrey 3. George Miller’s Justice League: Mortal 2. James Cameron’s Spider-Man 1. Ben Affleck’s The Batman
@@RandomguyfromtheinternetN1Because I wanted to list off a lot of lesser known films that never happened, I didn’t include Coyote vs. Acme. However, it would’ve been great for it to be seen. The decision to cancel a finished project is absolutely ridiculous.
@@RandomguyfromtheinternetN1 I feel like one can't call Coyote v. Acme "unmade." It very much exists, just doesn't seem like it's getting released. BUT it originally had Barbie's theatrical date, if you hadn't heard this before.
This is actually the first time I heard about the animated version of Harry Potter with Spielberg leading to be with family. From what I kept on hearing and JK Rowling said herself in the one on one interview with her and Danielle Radcliffe said that she did not approve of a lot of Spielberg ideas, and WB basically said “this is her world, she has to give the approval” and that’s what made him leave.
The most recent one I can think of is Adam McKay’s “Average Height Average Build” starring Robert Pattinson and Robert Downey Jr., and Amy Adams. It was supposed to have Robert Pattinson play a serial killer trying to get into politics or something. I would have loved to see Pattinson play a version of Patrick Bateman so I was very disappointed when it was canceled
10: the Edgar Allan Poe movie starring RDJ 9: Robert Rodriguez escape from New York remake 8: Edgar wrights ant man 7: James camerons spider man 6: George Lucas sw sequels 5: Superman lives 4: batman unchained 3: lord and millers solo 2: Ghostbusters 3 1: ben afflecks batman
Great choices Sean! I would also love to mention Paul Verhoeven's 'Crusade' with Schwarzenegger, Timothy Dalton's 3rd James Bond movie 'The Property of a Lady,' John Frankenheimer's 'The Long Rains' and Renny Harlin's 'Gale Force' with Stallone.
Micheal Myers vs Pinhead/hellraiser most def should’ve happened, Scooby Doo 3 (had a crazy plot, love the first two being born in 2000) & the Sims Movie disney canceled when they bought fox lol..
Alejandro Jodorowsky’s Dune is the story of Hollywood legend, the documentary is really awesome to watch a mix of crazy, genius to make the most influential sci-fi film that was never made
That was a big one. It's funny, the excuse someone at WDAS made for canceling it was that it didn't meet their standards, then they proceed to release a few low standard titles such as Strange World, the Frozen sequel, and Wish.
Oh that reminds me, WB said that as soon as the Harry Potter films ended, they would start making animated films of Septeimus Heap. It will have been thirteen years since the last HP film came out this summer, with no word on a Heap film still.
"Night Skies" written by John Sayles is my favorite cancelled movie because it transmogrified into two different iconic Spielberg movies (Poltergeist and E.T. The Extraterrestrial).
I also recommend Supervoid cinema. They also do videos on unmade movies, not the ones we know about. For example, theres an episode that talks about Stallones unmade Edger Allen poe film.
What if you did a cancelled screenplay video? There’s a lot of Fnaf ones you can talk about like the plushies take Manhattan screenplay (yes, that was a real cancelled Fnaf screenplay)
I remember being so invested in blomkampfs alien movie. It goes back further than ten years from rumors. Also i remember back in 2012 when black ops 2 came out watching john campea talk about movies and beinf excited for the flash and what we got 😢 also antman wouldve been so much better with wright. I didn't know about him directing and writing it until after on RU-vid
It's funny how both the original star Wars and flash Gorgon are very different in their athletic and yet the shared the same director of photography, Gilbert Taylor
Top 20 Cancelled Movies I Wish Were Made 1. Shadow Company (John Carpenter) 2. Napoleon (Stanley Kubrick) 3. Torso (David Fincher) 4. Alien Awakening (Neil Blomkamp) 5. Justice League Mortal (George Miller) 6. Nightmare On Elm Street 6 The Dream Master (Peter Jackson) 7. Resident Evil (George A Romero) 8. Creature From The Black Lagoon Remake (John Carpenter) 9. Frankenstein (David Fincher) 10. Isobar (Roland Emmerich) 11. Batman Continues (Tim Burton) 12. Howard Hughes (Christopher Nolan) 13. Friday The 13th 2017 (Break Eisner) 14. Hulk (Johnathan Hensleigh) 15. Godzilla (Jan De Bont) 16. Night Skies (Tobe Hooper) 17. Bioshock (Gore Verbinski) 18. Halo (Neil Blomkamp) 19. Fantastic Four (Chris Columbus) 20. Metroid (John Woo)
Very interesting David Fincher started off working on franchises, then ended up doing his own films and book adaptations. Usually, it’s the other way around where people start off doing non franchise stuff to franchise stuff… with David Fincher, it was opposite
I'm certainly very happy that Peyton Reed ended up taking on ant man because he perfected the tone, vibe and humor that the ant man films should have, but it would be very interesting to see what a edgar wright ant man film would look like
1. George Lucas Star Wars Sequel trilogy had to be better than what we got. 2. E.T. sequel back in the 80's with Spielberg directing it could've been one of the all-time great sequels. You can buy a book based off his ideas for a 2nd movie. 3. Blomkamp's Aliens, I fully supported erasing Aliens 3, also bringing back Ripley, Hicks and Newt could've been great. 4. Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Broderick has talked about it and Hughes did ask him if he would a sequel, but it never really went anywhere. A 2nd movie could've been cool if it happened around 1990 with Hughes returning as director. 5. Who Framed Roger Rabbit sequel could've been epic back in the day, 6. The Vega Brothers 7. Burton's Superman 8. Goonies 2 9. Affleck's Batman 10. Cameron's Spider-Man
For Me The Mask 2 (there was even a competion in Nintendo Power to win a chance to be in the movie). Also, I would love to have seen what the 3rd Timothy Dalton Bond movie would have been like. The Living Daylights and especially Licence to Kill have been re-evaluated the years and I think a 3rd insallment could have been great.
Some I would have been interested in seeing: Spider-Man 4 The Amazing Spider-Man 3/ Sinister Six Disney's Musicana Disney's Morgan's Ghost Disney's Hiawatha John Carpenter's Creature from the Black Lagoon James Cameron's Jurassic Park Original version of Thor: Ragnarok James Mangold's X-23 MCU Inhumans Pixar's Newt The Lego Batman Movie 2
Regarding the Nic Cage Superman film, Kevin Smith was talking about it on one of this podcasts. And he approached him to write it but he turned it down because the guy was just obsessed with having a huge spider in it for no reason lol.
I would have loved to have seen Joal Schumacher's planned The Lost Boys sequel, "The Lost Girls". It wouldn't have been a patch on the original but it would have been interesting.
1. Ben Affleck's The Batman (I loved Ben Affleck's take on his Batman role, and would've really loved to see his character storyline expand, what the villain was, how'd the Robin suit get there, another revamp of Morbius' Joker, and maybe his nice little banter with Alfred. Also, would've been really cool to see, if the main antagonist was going to be Deathstroke, what was the cause/reason for the DCEU's Batman and Deathstroke to be the enemies they are.) 2. James Cameron's Spider-Man (James Cameron working on a Spider-Man film in the 90s where Titanic was released? SIGN! ME! UP!) 3. King Conan (Really had fun with Arnold's Conan the Barbarian, and would've been really into this movie if it came out.) 4. Quentin Tarantino's Double V Vega (Loved Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, and the idea of these two characters with oddly the same last name, would've been one large rollercoaster that would be worth my time.) 5. Edgar Wright's Ant-Man (I've actually never seen one of his films, but I've heard that some of the films he's directed were solids, and knowing that Edgar Wright was at Ant-Man for a long time, it probably would be another solid, but not amazing film, and wouldn't haven gotten the Ant-Man we have today, well, almost 9 years ago. Wait, Ant-Man is almost 9 years old? Dang, time does fly.) 6. George Miller's Justice League Mortal (Director of Mad Max, some I'm already on the same page as this idea, would've been interesting but also worrying to see how Miller would bring the members of the Justice League together and give them their story/side quest. I'm sure the movie would probably be a nice OK film.) 7. Dave Fincher's Blade (Director of Se7en, Fight Club, and The Social Network, haven't seen Se7en but loved Fight Club and The Social Network and seeing his take on the original Blade movie probably would've been better than the Blade movie that has been released.) 8. George Lucas' Flash Gordon (Love George Lucas' Star Wars movies, haven't seen Flash Gordon, don't know what Flash Gordon's about, but considering that Flash Gordon had some inspirations for Star Wars, the chances of George Lucas to make a Flash Gordon movie probably would've been good.) 9. Steven Spielberg's Harry Potter (Would've been interesting to see how this film would turn out.) 10. Tim Burton's Superman Lives (Love Tim Burton's Batman movies, would love to see a Superman movie by Tim Burton, but seeing Nicholas Cage in the blue suit, is probably a huge downer for me. Love Nicholas Cage, definitely don't see him as Superman.) 11. William Gibson's Alien 3 (Again, not into Alien sequels, I don't know William Gibson, I don't know his works, so I wouldn't be entirely too sure if his version of Alien 3 would've either been better than what we have, or surprisingly worse than what we have.) 12. Neill Blomkamp's Alien 5 (I'm not a huge fan of the Alien sequels, so Alien 5 would not work for me and I've never seen any of Neill Blomkamp's works. This would probably be something I would definitely miss out on.)
The Men in Black x 21 Jump Street crossover would’ve been wild Also the Godfather 4 film that was supposed to star Leonardo DiCaprio as a younger Sonny could’ve been special, but was ultimately cancelled when the original author Mario Puzo died
I have feeling that George's Flash Gordon would have been exactly what we got with Star Wars (1977), with swapped names and some adjustments. The galaxy Far, Far Away would be the Milky Way, Tatooine would be Earth, Luke would be Flash etc
Awesome video. I love this stuff. I'd never heard of Double VV Vega before; what a flick that would've been. Matthew Vaughn's X-Men 3 David Fincher's Spiderman Michael Mann's The Aviator Shane Black's Doc Savage Sam Raimi's Warcraft movie Danny Boyle's No Time To Die Alfred Hitchcock's Thunderball
My top 10 cancelled/unmade movies: 10. The Mummy: Rise of the Aztec (aka The Mummy 4) 9. Bryan Singer's X-Men 3 8. George A. Romero's Resident Evil 7. Tim Burton's Batman Continues 6. Robert Rodriguez's & Frank Miller's Sin City: Hell & Back 5. Alex Proyas' The Crow 2 & 3 4. Bruce Lee's Game of Death 3. Jonathan Hensleigh's/Walter Hill's The Punisher 2 2. Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 1. George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road starring Mel Gibson
Hey Sean, super curious but do u know exactly what Justice League Mortal imploded on itself last minute? I've heard of the film, but I didn't realize that's why it didn't happen and I'm curious what caused it
THere's a BUNCH of videos about it. I mentioned a couple channels with videos about it. It's pretty well documented. It's not a simple answer I could write in a comment.
I thought for Tarantino you would put up either Kill Bill Vol.3 or his Star Trek film. Either way its insane that Tarantino is only gonna make one more film, which even more solidifies that we'll never see these unmade movies
Considering the David Fincher directed Blade movie was before Seven I'm not that surprised he didn't end up doing it. Had it been a year or two after Seven I think it would've been more likely that he would've done it.
This is a Hot take but I would have loved to see the Rian Johnson Star wars Trilogy. The last Jedi has some very good things going for it, except the script and the lack of connectivity to Force Awakens. If a Director as talented as Rian Johnson was actually allowed to map out a proper trilogy, we could have gotten some very thought provoking spin offs in the star wars universe
10:46 So when he was no longer Batman he could've only said one thing "Argo fuck yourself." Fun fact the characters saying that is actually historically accurate since they would say that in real life.
1. Justice League: Mortal: George Miller directing this and making a team up superhero film would have been awesome and game changing at the time (possibly) 2. Green Arrow: Escape From Superman Max 3. Superman Lives 4. Peter Jackson, Neill Blomkamp, and Guillermo del Toro’s “Halo” Movie (in hindsight this would have been better than what the TV show is…) 5. Blomkamp’s ALIEN film 6. David Fincher’s “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea 7. Edgar Wright’s “Ant-Man 8. Quentin Tarantino’s Star Trek
Arnold Schwarzenegger did do a second Conan film Conan The Destroyer albeit that was a very loose sequel though, would be great to see King Conan though.
Justice League: Mortal is probably my favorite movie never told. A big part of me is wishing it had got made (and more importantly been a critical and commercial success). It could've been the start of a cinematic universe on equal footing with the MCU rather than the conflict being a one-sided win for Marvel. No Snyderverse, no Josstice League, no reboots, no wasted decade of meaningless failures, just a single, unified DC universe that they got right on the first try.
You forgot Stanley Kubrick's Napoleon and Aaron papers, Madonna self directed bio pic, animated Popye movie, Alexander Payne's The Menu Robert Zemeckis Yellow Submarine, Jerry Lewis The Day the Clown Cried? I know you need to only talk about super hero views but most people know most of these cancelled projects. Also 20 cancelled Guillermo Del Toro films.
The George Miller Justice League movie is the one that really makes me sad because maybe we as an audience could've been spared from the DCEU if Justice League Mortal had happened.
Some movies the world next got that might've been something: Newt (Pixar), supposedly uprooted due to similarities to Rio. Gigantic, Disney's version of Jack and the Beanstalk The second film in the Oz, the Great and Powerful trilogy Peter and the Starcatchers movie directed by the guy who directed the first Hunger Games FAblehaven movie Not a Movie but GONE the TV SERIES based on the books by Michael Grant.
The three novies I'm most upset didn't get made was amazing spider man 3 And even though the dark universe didn't start out great I would've loved to see johnny depp as the invisible man Also James Cameron almost directed jurassic park it was gonna be closer to the book and alot darker
I like Nicolas Cage but him as superman just sounds terrible. I also think Michael Keaton is a great actor but not a great batman. Not a huge fan of Tim Burton generally
