That's so funny like 3 other friends said that too. I was a huge fan of extreme G racing back in the day.. 'Memeber" that one black bike that would break sound barrier?? haha
+Neddskorg I will wait to see how the battle pans out. PS4 has won the console war IMO, but I'm not sure who's going to come out on top in the vr fight.
still a bit of disbelief is felt at the scale of the game.. really hoping all the hype is true. Full VR in that game would be the icing on the cake. -there is no cake-
+guts4264347 Considering there is a PS4 fligh tstick already(seen one at GameStop, initially advertising WarThunder) I don't think that'll be an issue. Wish my AC6 Ace Edge would work for PS4 but oh well. AC7 literally the only reason I got a PS4 :P
For it to even remotely work your head movement would turn the head of the player, your aim control will have a new learning curve. I doubt people will care for it. So far everything other then Racing or flight sims are novelty games.
I think 2 games that would be great for VR would be Road Rage and a Star Wars Speeder Bike race game. Imagine racing through a redwood forest on a Speeder Bike, it can have several different modes like a race through a set course, timed, head to head or against several other racers. You can have a battle mode where your objective is to get to some destination and you're up against stormtroopers or other players trying to stop you, in this mode you have weapons anything from light sabers, laser pistols to maybe tree branches you snag along the way. Lastly a free style mode where you just enjoy a cruise through a forest, canyon or city. Then there's Road Rage no explanation needed for this one, just flat out racing and beating the shit out of the guy next to your with chain or club while jamming to Soundgarden's Outshined!! Don't know if the PS VR or Xbox's Scorpio system will be able to do this now or down the road but having games like the Star Wars Speeder Bike or Road Rage with photo realistic backgrounds would be AWESOME and needs to be the next step in game play.
that is exactly why the PS VR is fucking bullshit, if the ps4 doesn't play any game in 1440p and yet can play VR which seems quite ridiculous, i think it can be done once code and such is refined but that is not going to happen this year, or the next, or the next, maybe the next
+mark Roger Ace combat 7 for press x to win? I will wait in the shadows... fuck you, ace combat assault horizon! When they will make a remake of ace combat 3 (or more futuristic shit, I love that game!)????
+NyuuMikuru1 $541 with tax, pre order at your local GameStop while you can, $100 minimum deposit and you have until October to pay it off it's a good deal
Just remember that this is 1st Gen VR hardware running launch titles. They'll be sure to get better through the life cycle of the VR, and just wait until the next editions come out.
Virtual reality has never been successful! Everyone remember Nintendo virtual boy, or Japan's famicom 3D system?VR is not anything new. Also the price is rediculously expensive, at $399 without PlayStation move controllers, or PlayStation camera will bring it up to $500+with tax just for a add on! Last gens Kinect and move was released at a reasonable $100-$150 each bringing a lot of non gamers to increase sales resulting in more games both good and bad. I don't see sales going off this gen and while VR today is much more innovative it's still just a gimmick and I don't see anything that innovative as the technology is still developing.
1. Nintendo Virtual Boy and Famicon 3D did not fail because VR can't be succesfull, they failed because they wheren't even VR in the first place, They where presented as VR's , but in reality they where just low quality screens attached to to a headset. They sucked balls, and where abandoned by their producers who after the launch didn't create any other game for them. Today's VR tehnology is different trough. Is basically what they promised in the past, just 1000 000 times better. And peoples are quite hyped up for it. 2. Is not expensive at all. Is the cheapest VR kit. PSVR + PS4 (if you don't have one aleardy) -> 400$ + 350$ (even cheaper if you buy it second hand) = 850$. On the other hand, Oculus is 600$, and it requires a high spec PC to run it - so you end up spending 1400-1500$. Market potential is... PSVR targets PS4 users. We are talking about a market with over 30 milions users, which has enought potential. Joining the VR race is a wise decission made by Sony, as the predictions show that this is the future of gaming. If the system works well, it can sell well, and obviously get more games. Basically if Sony plays their cards well, they can become a leading force in the VR game industry. All they have to do is atract outsiders, who don't own PS4, because for those who aleardy own one, and want to try the VR experience, they will obviously chose VR over competition, because is cheaper. And even if the sucks just like Kinect, it can potentially rise the sells of PS4, which is a wise strategy anyway.
Possibly Eve Valkyrie would be worth looking at, but not worth a $500 bundle (with camera). Now, if they ever get OverWatch or No Man's Sky on a decent VR platform, I'll look into spending some serious cash.
i will wait on till i see that developers are going to support the hardware. i don't want to buy a 400$ machine that in a few months it will be obsolete.
I'm not stacked with money so I'll wait and see how VR evolves. This is $400 and plus it might not be compatible with PS5. Most of the games are not that interesting. Only one or two.....so I'll wait and see how VR plays out.
Seeing this video I come to a conclusion. VR is like you are dreaming, yet awake! AWESOME!!!!!!! which also reminds me of Arnold in a movie he did where he was another person in another world. They sat him on a chair... I forgot the name of the movie..
My ps4 vr is being shipped to my house in 2 days, and i've never tried or experienced any type of vr before! IM SO EXCITED AND SCARED; the future is crazy!
It's honestly astonishing, it makes you truly realize that the future is here now. It's very comfortable, the tracking is pretty spot on, and the graphics are great as well! Only cons I found with this set up is that there is so much cordage; it kind of makes my living room area look very messy if you don't have cord control; but it is definitely overlooked once you start playing!
Does anybody remember Nintendo's VirtualBoy?.... yeahhhhh, this is either gonna be a dud or pave the way for a more immersive virtual experience that turns humans into passive fetuses in the matrix haha
VR isnt gonna disappear anytime soon the PC VR scene is beginning to take off finally and Sony realized its the future of gaming and jumped on the bandwagon early enough that there gonna change the game with the PS VR.... now that VR is going to be available to the masses on console it will spread much faster then in the PC world of gaming which is still largely exclusive to hardcore video gamers, whereas consoles are much more user friendly for casual gamers and families etc. the only thing thats holding the PS VR back is its retail price tag but within a year or two i predict it will be vary popular and VR games will become a huge focus for PS
+ElectroSTRONG Network but with motion controlls you werent immersed there was something that it missed....and now we have what motion controls needed to be great
Also motion controles are pretty fun... they revolutioned the the family gaming, but it was never expected for them to be the future of gaming and take over controlers... that wouldn't be practical in most of the games.
I want it but fear it will go down the Kinect path. VR Games are crap now, GT and AC look promising, lets wait for assassins creed, far cry, GTA, COD, Telltale games and it will be a no brainer. Im waiting a year at least to see how it goes.
Not worth the price what so ever. It's one of those fancy new toys that everyone will get so excited for that they can't resist and end up buying and it'll be gone in a few years like Kinect and The Move because developers won't have any good games for it. But hey, I hope I'm wrong.
+avsrule247 The difference is that so many hardware developers are making their own VR headset. With the Rift, PSVR and Vive, there's bound to be competition that drives innovative games and experiences. I can't see VR being a flop fad because we've been working towards VR for decades. Now that the technology has caught up we can finally live out the fantasy that was once exclusive to Sci Fi.
+kendo512 Well for starters I don't see the market being huge for this so you can have all the competition you want. That's like saying there's competition in curling because the players are so good. But how many people actually care about curling? That said, I am not speaking from an educated background about VR, it just feels like the motion controller phase again where it's so exciting and there is literally ONE game for it that is a "must buy" at launch and that's it.
+avsrule247 VR will extend beyond gaming into tourism, education and perhaps medicine. Whether you consider it a fad or not has no bearing on its inevitable progression. If you aren't interested don't buy it, but just watch how it progresses over the next decade.
+MrDeath pwn (Deathpwn) Becaus virtual rollercoaster ride or space drift isn't something that sounds entertaining for more than 5 minutes. Every shopping centre has one of those "ride the cart on rails" machines sitting empty for a reason. And don't get me started on that ball bouncing game, remember the Power Glove's failure? Half of those games are rail shooters, those things were so much fun in 1993.
+OhFishyFish adrift actually has a story. basically something has happend. you forgot it since you hit your head or something. you find certain items to learn what happend.
Too bad the reality of Sony VR is nothing like this! It's immersive yes. Insanely immersive. But blurry, pixelated and anything involving high speed or too smooth movement makes me wanna barf. Don't watch this and expect to be seeing these PS4 quality graphics in your goggles. You will be disappointed.
where are the VR naysayers now!? hahah they were majority in the comments a couple of years back... now they'r hiding ashamed... xD, btw eve Valkyrie sucks (Im a CV1 oculus user)
+James Jiao but this games is just what 10 games he is excited for, and keep in mind there will be more then 50 games at launch and right now theres over 300 in development
the only way to make VR a huge success on PC is HL3 VR. this would instantly sell millions of headsets. sony will undoubtedly have some insane exclusives. if i could only get my preorder in.
yea anticipated for until dawn rush of blood looks fun for an arcade shooter, and heard it has alot of hidden objects that should be fun to find as well!
Jea ab heute Die Playstation VR Brille hier bei amazon vorbestellen!! :D:D direckt gekauft :D:D www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00ULWWFIC/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1638&creative=19454&creativeASIN=B00ULWWFIC&linkCode=as2&tag=httpwwwvrund3-21
Eve valkerie didn't really look as impressive in real life, I got to try it this weekend and it was a bit underwhelming. On the other hand, I also tried eagle flight and it was a blast. Weird that it's not on this list.
It pisses me off to see that GT is able to come up with a VR game... but NOT 7! Then again, it could be the best racing sim ever, at least for non-rally racing because that's what Dirt Rally is doing right now... Come on Sony... GIVE US THE REAL GT!
I feel like Sony is gonna loose a big chunk of vr users if they don't have vr sexy time. I haven't played any of these vr games, but a good portion of these are third person, and I don't understand the point of a third person vr game. Maybe there's something I'm missing, but it doesn't make since to me. As far as I can tell, vr is only gonna be good for vehicle games that allow first person and that are least minorly dedicated to vr (Ace Combat looks fun, and so does gran tourismo.) or perverted eye candy games. I mean, honestly beyond those two, I don't see two much of a point. I guess I could see it working for fps games, but I think it would have to be built specifically for it. And, honestly, the only fps I play is BF3/BF4, and I sort of doubt that EA will make their next battlefield game built around vr. So, while I've been a Sony fanboy for the longest time, I might end up passing this VR headset if it doesn't have some adult vr waifu sexy time games. Hell, I'm still not sold on vr even for that, but if I do get vr, it'll probably be the ones that support software with girls dressed lewdly or not at all. And that would more than likely be rated AO, and Sony doesn't let AO games on their consoles.
+magicstix0r Made me chuckle. Still, semi-realistic isn't THAT unfair. Sure, the weapons payload is huge (to allow for blowing up a lot more shit per mission) and they implement sci-fi/yet-undeveloped technology. But they have mostly real world aircraft that are similarly scaled in performance, and it's as graphically realistic. And with the limitations of a game pad the controls and flight mechanics are about as much as you could ask for. Lets call it "quasi-realistic." Like Metal Gear Solid 3 in that regard. Very realistic (mostly) weapons platforms, emphasis on using stealth techniques, lots of allusions to real world politics/warfare, highly detailed and logical health restoration system, hunger and fatigue, etc... but you have some absurd bosses with near magical capabilities and the occasional 75-foot, 150-ton, nuclear-missile-launching super tank that can somehow go 100mph. Y'know, quasi-realistic.
an Extreme G game needs to made for PSVR and it better have the race track Oceania from Extreme G3 along with the song too, Needlejuice by System F, I'd buy that for a dollar
I'm trying to debate between this or waiting and saving up a little more for the HTC Vive. I know the Vive is $800, and I was going to pick up a 1070 GTX later this year. The PS VR is $500 since I don't already have a PS camera or PS wands. In fact, I don't even have a PS4 yet either. I already put together a custom skylake 6700k this summer but I'm still puttering around in my old videocard ready for an upgrade. 1070 GTX $450ish, HTC VIVE $800 = $1250 PS4 $400 ish neo PS VR $500 = $900. I guess the other thing I need to wait for is what kind of support each set will have. Which has more support is a big considering factor. Can I watch movies using either headset? Can I use the PS VR on my PC to watch movies? I am slightly limited in space. If I got the Vive, it would be entire just a stand up experience with no real moving around in my current household. Ditto for the PS4. My PC is in my room, very limited space. My PS would be on my TV in my living room, I have a little more space there. Maybe about 8x6 feet.
VR is amazing but the games so far are garbage, make roller coaster games, sky diving game, horror games, fighting games, adventure games that has huge monsters also the VR should have came out 4K ultra graphic. But it's all good a year or two better games should come out I'm getting it on day one
VR needs to be at a reasonable price for consumers. Putting two 4k old screens in there would be far more pricey than a single 1080xrgb screen. Nobody is going to drop a couple thousand dollars on a piece of tech that may or may not be successful.
+michi22RSN I could imagine seeing some workarounds. Just like how I'm sure there's going to be some workarounds to get Vive games on a Rift and vice versa
This graph is 2000!!!!!!................that pieces of shit!!!!!!! seems the game of the movie tron 1982!!!!..... mega epic hiper WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JOAJOAJOAJOAJOAJOAJOAJOAJOAJOAJOAHJOA.
+Atticus Weiss I'm REALLY looking forward to RIGS. I still have P.T. on my hard drive so the idea of being able to play it in Cinematic Mode sounds NUTS. Can't wait!
It's highly possible that PS4 can't power the PS VR enough to run the biggest games, for example Gran Turismo. There is a rumor of a new more powerful PS4 coming.. I speculate the subject on my channel. Check it out, please.
I'll wait for a price drop. this seems real nice but I get the feeling that there might be a release of a revised PS4. like how the Slim's for ps2 and 3 were smaller and just as powerful as the originals. So I won't invest in VR till then, but "No Man's Sky" I've preordered.
As for now, I can't see this being an alternative for Oculus Rift, not enough games (at the moment) and the ones I have seen being advertised, not a good match for the Oculus (PC). Time will tell I guess.
