In this video I use Stockopedia's leading stock screener to find the top 10 dividend stocks in the United States. Dividend stocks are valued in the investment community as they provide an income to investors which can often rival term deposits. Dividends are also a sign of a company that is profitable, has low capital expenditure needs, and is generally friendly to shareholders, which isn't always the case.
I made a video in the past where I also looked at the top US dividend stocks. To get to this list of 10 I took a more measured approach by using eight different screening filters to narrow down 5970+ US stocks to just 10.
Filters used on Stockopedia's screening tool:
- Country: United States
- Market Capitalisation: Over AU$100m
- Dividend Yield TTM: Over 4.75%
- Price Change 1Y: Over -5%
- Price CAGR 5Y: Over 0%
- Piotroski F Score TTM: 7 or Greater
- Alman Z-Score and Z2 Score TTM: Over 1.8
