Also the people in Sakurajima/Kagoshima watch the volcano have small eruptions almost on a daily basis so they're very aware and conscious of it. If disaster does strike, those in Naples will be relatively ill-prepared for sure

To be fair Mount Rainier is a decade volcano but that's no so much because it's highly active but more because it has the potential to cause massive lahars thanks to the ice on the peak.

Yellowstone is no ordinary volcano lol. Its a húge valley, around 40-70km wide, underneath all that landmass, sleeps a sizable Magma-chamber of near-unprecedented proportions: You need a whole of of volcanoes to get to THAT amount of Magma! In fact, the Yellowstone-Caldera was recently thought to be thé largest Caldera in existance, that was, untill the (highly dormant) Mt Dutch was localised, underneath the North Pole's Ice Cap. Though larger then Yellowstone, the Ice-Layer also 'ensures' it will remain dormant for a véry long time, though, with earth heating up, the ice layers are melting: thát Caldera might heat up at a point! There ís activity under Yellowstone: there ís something going on there. Could rumble for another 10-20.000 years.. could also blow tomorrow and end 95% of the world's population within a week.

Luckily Yellowstone is not ready to blow. If Yellowstone ever does, hopefully it is a VEI 5 or smaller. That beautiful park can reach up to super eruption status. Let's just say that Yellowstone could be devastating.

Yellowstone isnt 'dangerous' in this type of measurements... If Yellowstone Caldera blows, it will be an unprecedented type of Eruption(VEI-8-scale). Thats Catastrophical. You're talking about Volcanic eruptions that can pose dangers to surrounding civilians. If Yellowstone goes, there's no "danger", there's simply a 100% assurance that the entire north-american continent will be dead within a wéék! Thats not 'dangerous'. Tháts what they call absolute.

If Yellowstone (or any of the supervolcanoes, actually) blows, it's quite possible it would be an "extinction level event".

Even them counted together, and multiplied by 10 wouldnt even come close to what Yellowstone-Caldera is capable of. Regular volcanic eruptions are measured in a scale of 1-6, above that, there áre indicators 7 and 8, but they are rárely applied as they indicate thé utmost massivest of eruptions: catastrophic/cataclysmic after-effects. Toba Lake, 85.000 years ago, the last 'documented' VEI-8 scale Super-Eruption; 2850 Cubic Kilometers of pumice and ashes went into the planet's atmosphere, and were a key in causing the last known Ice-Age, bit more south in Indonesia, Mount Tambora exploded for about 34Megatons, in 1815, causing a VEI-7, with around 150 cubic kilometers out 'fallout'. in 1883 Krakatoa exploded with extreme violence: approx 200Mt of detonating force, with a 300Db deafening blast. yet 'only' 28 cubic kilometers of fallout, making Krakatoa's blast'only' a VEI-6' So, for an indication of the scaling. Yellowstone is in a league of its own.
