Ed, Hi! This is Emir, the kid you taught at English Zone and the one who appeared in this video for a few moments. I hope you are doing well in the times of distress. I just wanted to ask a favor. I’d be grateful if you could share with me some of the videos you made at English zone with all of us together. Thank you!

Really makes me want to go camping now! In relation to the creepy toys; I spent some time on a constuction site at a remote village in China. Workers are usually given simple accomodation on site and it seemed like it was normal that they brought their close family to live with them. During the work day the women would cook and clean and the children would play.

I likewise do single-track cross-country. When Canada again allows me winter entry I go look for caves east of Mount McGuire in BC. Summer ride takes me up that mountain to find other caves. See the BC Speleological Federation to learn more. In hot weather the cave air is cool. In freezing weather the cave air is warm. Hmm. Go figure.

When I read the title of this video, I immediately knew that the castle in Germany "Ruine Reußenstein" would be among your top 10. And hey, it almost made it to the fist place. Not far from where I grew up and I did a lot of cycling over the years in this gorgeous mountainous area including the L1200 you also travelled along that day. Big thumbs up for this beautiful vid.
@BrokenCurtain

Sadly, wild camping isn't allowed in Germany - although you might get away with it if you don't leave traces, respect private property and are friendly. On the other hand, failure to follow those rules of conduct may result in fines ranging from 100 euros up to several thousand euros. There is an exception for bivouaking and hammocks, though, as those setups are considered to be more temporary than tents. It's also worth pointing out that it is not allowed to light an open fire in or near forested areas most of the time of the year. The exact rules vary from state to state, so it's a good idea to look them up before setting off on a journey.

This is my first introduction to you, I will watch, and subscribe, mostly because of your attitude! I'm in the twilight of my life, and I think the streetlights are on, lol, some will understand. You have done a wildly magnificent thing, and to have the rest of your life to pass on this adventure, to future generations, is almost without description. Back in the day, lol, I worked with an English gentleman, it was backbreaking labor, I was young and he was old. Sometimes when I was at the end of my rope, he told me that the English, have a saying, or motto, "Crack On" that he told me meant you just keep going! Never forgot it, and somehow to me it just seemed better to say, 'I guess I'll just crack on' than to say 'don't quit', lol don't know why. But when I watched you, I thought of him, and that's a compliment.

The tunnel works in Sichuan looked very familiar. On my last adventure around China a few years ago I picked a random highway in the direction I wanted to go and hitchhiked down it. A forgotten number of rides and hours later I got to where an earthquake or landslide had destroyed the highway and new tunnels were being constructed. I was following some workers up a rough path around a rockslide, couldn't keep up because my packs were heavy and awkward and ended up in a very loose sketchy section with nobody around. Somehow I managed not to slide all the way down into the river, ferried my gear across to solid land, and call out to some other workers who helped carry my stuff back to the road and into a tunnel where their car was parked and given a ride to something like civilization to continue hitching. I didn't camp in any bits of tunnel though and I'm jealous you went through Qinghai too.

After walking through a tunnel through a mountain, which was also a fallout shelter, in Yosemite National Park, and it was late enough there were no more cars coming by to hitchhike to, so I slept in the bushes at the south end of the tunnel. I was later told that was a favorite spot for people looking for rattlesnakes. Another time after doing some backpacking in Desolation Wilderness in the Sierra Mountains, my friend and I hitchhiked to Santa Cruz, California. It was quite late when we got there, so we climbed up a cliff and slept in a small grove of bamboo. In the morning two very surprised children coming to playing what was apparently their fort, found us sleeping there. My friend cried and said "I want to go home." So to give him the full experience of living on the road the next night I got two large boxes out of a shoe store dumpster, climbed over a fence and slept in some trees between two highways. We slept remarkably well in those boxes.

Does he check something out first and then go and film it? How many times has he wanted to film something but can't?
