You can't talk about powerful performances without talking about 7 Pounds, he was great in the movie and it was absolutely gut-wrenching.

I loved Will Smith since I was about 9 (OMG!) (I'm 41 currently...) That was beacause of his popular songs "Girls Ain't Nothing But Trouble" and "Parents Just Don't Understand." Him going into acting wasn't surprising....I just didn't think it would take off the way it did.

I’m glad Independence Day made it in this list cause that’s my favorite with Will Smith.

My fav is the pursuit of happyness... that movie demonstrates how to overcome any struggles and how to reach a certain level of determination... to not fall in to a pool of resentment and depression, just because life is hard. It is to teach you how to fight and take whats rightfully yours. You have a right to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

you left out suicide squad, concussion, wild wild west, bad boys II, focus, hancock, after earth, legend of bagger vance, men in black 2 & 3, winter's tale, collateral beauty, seven pounds, where the day takes you, six degrees of separation, etc etc.... He really became a great actor after his early beginnings on The Fresh Prince. Once he sets his mind to something, he doesn't stop until he's completed it or mastered it 120%, as he puts it. I'm pretty stoked for Bad Boys 3 to come out too! Really interested to see where they go with the storyline and bad guy(s)/girl(s) for the 3rd installment of that franchise. 1 and 2 were great...I just hope they can live up to the prequels and it doesn't flop in any way. We shall see next year I guess.

I don't know if Men in Black 3 was released at the time (which I highly doubt it was), but I would have replaced MI 1 with MIB3, especially the scene near the end where it is so emotional that it makes me cry every time I watch it.

My favorite movie is Independence Day and will always be. One of favorite movie of all time!!!!
