Which character makes you want to change the channel? 10 Coronation Street Moments That Made Fans Quit Watching ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-D-OfHKKdkXw.html
@@denisesiddon7241There aren't any under 15s on this list. Except maybe Aaron's actor since I can't seem to find his age anywhere online. He definitely looks older than 15 though, and he had a sexual assault storyline which would be inappropriate if he was younger than that.
And he got 'Best Actor' in the soap awards one year!!! He spends so much time mincing about and going on daft that no one takes him seriously when he's angry!
@@pinkpolly88 I know him from Manchester. The way he carries on,demanding the red carpet treatment, you’d think he was Michael Jackson. Not a nice person.
Can't stand Leanne, Ayla, Maria, or Toyah, but Simon is a dreadful character. Dev and Craig are up there too. Just catching up.on Coronation Street and watching scene where Alya has suddenly turned into the legal brain of the century. What a joke 😃. I couldn't stand her character but this is a whole new level of stupidity.
It's a mix of bad acting, bad writing and bad directing. Corrie dates back to 1960 and for decades had the best actors and showed what life was really like, slanging matches, people working day jobs, real struggles and now it's weak and holds no substance. It truly is one of the worst things on British telly today. I'd personally have a different list for bad actors but then again they all seem bad nowadays.
@@paulwild3676 I doubt Craig would have even passed the medical to become a PCSO. He really is appalling, but not quite so bad as Dev and Steve hamming it up to the point where they look like they are characters in a cheap ITV comedy show
When is MOJO going to do one entitled “how many people can you get to live in a Coronation Street house”. I mean Eileen’s house, her, George, Todd, Mary, Sean and Dylan and aren’t they supposed to be two bedrooms and the front room. The same at Chesney and Gemma’s.
Yasmeen should be on this list! Appalling acting imo. Also pretty bad and very badly cast is Cassie.. as a character who was meant to be down & out with a drug addiction the actress has big white shiny teeth & possibly botox
Paddy Bever always seemed pretty good to me, but maybe I'm the only one who can see that. Why on earth is Simon Gregson not on this list though? He CAN act, he just doesn't most of the time, he just pulls silly facial expressions and puts on a childlike voice. Jimmi Harkishin is another one (even though Dev unintentionally amuses me). And I always thought whoever plays Ed Bailey is worse than Michael. It does seem pretty unfair to pick on the kids, most of whom are starting out in the industry. Bit mean-spirited. Have to say this video left me cold.
I ADORE Jacob!! I wish they'd bring him back! He reminds me a lot of Graham with a bit of Lloyd thrown in! Jack Carroll is a comedian first and an actor second. Bobby and Jacob had the potential to become a new Steve & Lloyd and I thought Amy and Jacob were absolutely perfect together and could have been the new Jack & Vera. I haven't liked Simon since he was about 10. He and Blanche were comedy gold! I can't believe you didn't include Rosie Webster/Helen Flanagan! Horrid character portrayed by a talentless actress. I was very happy to see the back of her and I cringe every time the rumours start up again that she's coming back to Corrie. This could easily be a Top 20 list. Please do a part 2!
@@stickytoth5103 I absolutely agree. They have kept Simon far longer than they should have. I was hoping they'd send him off with Peter but no such luck.
Agree with that..her modern incarnation is unpleasant and irritating as if having had a lobotomy. Mind you I felt the same about the new Todd Grimshaw with a new actor..a previously gentle and nice character became a scheming git overnight. However, he's mellowed and gone back to more like Todd used to be so maybe 'Bethany' will, although not at the moment!
I completely agree. I can't stand Bethany! She's following in her uncle Steven's footsteps. If they were going to bring back a character I would have much preferred Becky or Sophie or Kelly. Bethany is a bad character portrayed by a mediocre actress.
Mean. And most of the time you are referring to the character and not the actor. Some poor performers have very little to go on, a one dimensional character trait that doesn’t give them any opportunity to show range.
Her that plays Daisy is a shocker and she only gets away with it because she's pretty. In any scene she's in, she delivers her lines looking into space and never at the person she's talking to. Colson Smith is a lovely fella but, my goodness, he's a truly shocking actor. Surprised Ed Bailey didn't make this list!
British kids on the whole are shockingly bad actors. American kids are incredible - I've never understood why English kids can't act.

@ChorltonandtheWheelies theorys bigger population more likely to find good kid actors, situational as well some actors have been in the role for a long time can be difficult to change actors if major story line is on them.
@@ChorltonandtheWheeliesThere are several British kids playing Americans on US TV, as well as Hollywood It depends on what examples you choose to use.
I must give props to the actress that plays Hope. She is defiantly an exception, proving there are *some* British actors that are good - she is incredible compared to the rest of the kids in Corrie.
@@awesomesauce2000 Do you realiser that "kids" need to be criticised otherwise they'll grow up thinking they're "smart" which is why we have the problems today with kids thinking they're too good to be working a normal job.
Stop being a snowflake, the 'actors' here are being paid big boy wages. If they can't handle criticism then they don't deserve to be In the industry. Plus the list isn't exactly wrong.
That useless Jack and the false leg that can kick a football further than George Best. Never mentioned, never depressed, no trauma, the leg isn't stuck up the corner after he gets home from school, no hobbling, nothing. If you didn't think otherwise, you'd think the scriptwriters forgot they amputated his leg along with Kevin Webster who even forgot his own son died at childbirth!
You have my kind of humour. Love it. As bad as braindead Peter Barlow who still hasn’t sussed that Simon is mixed race, even though Peter is white and Simon’s Mother, was a blonde English rose.
Russell is clearly Gay those homophobic tweets were likely to try and conceal his own homosexuallity and why he was likely kept on when he explained this to producers.
British soap operas seem like they tend to cast child actors based more on appearances than actual talent. They want a child who "looks the part". That being said, they are children, many forced into it by parents who want to profit off of them. They can improve over time. Criticize them if they don't as they get older.
Maybe it’s the casting director you should be having a pop at not the actors let’s face it if you after offered a part on coronation street your not going to say no!
😂 people forget that the actors are told what to do by directors and producers, they get told what works and what doesn’t for that scene, also, who doesn’t have that one friend with no reaction? 🤷🏻♀️
I think the reason why Paddy won the newcomer/ rising star NTA was because there were two Heartstopper actors nominated (Joe Locke & Kit Connor) and thus fans of Heartstopper had their votes split between both Joe and Kit. Coronation Street fans or casual viewers only had Paddy to vote for in that category so that’s why he amassed the most votes
I'm sorry but the Mary character should've been no 1. I've seen a clip of her acting on RU-vid once and it was so bad I couldn't watch anymore. Even if it was meant to be a comedic scene, it was delivered so poorly. I've stopped watching corrie on TV for many years now cuz of the bad writing and acting, but I still remember cringing at Mary when I did watch it. It's a shame cuz I bet she's a lovely person in real life. I just think she better suits comedy if she really wants to pursue an acting career. As for the child actors, give them a chance as they're only young. Their acting skills won't be the best cuz they're starting out. I'd list adult actors, not child ones. And I for the life of me dunno why this video came up on my recommended but hey ho 😂🤷♀️
The dad and the son in the Bailey family must be on the list. The dad overacts almost as bad as Dev (except he has a funny voice and none of Dev's comedic timing) and the son just can't act full stop.
I completely agree with you there and half the actors who are under 18 are better actors than the actors who are over 18. Sam and Hope in Coronation Street they are brilliant actors/actress and they play their parts very well to be fair.
Gary Windass sounds like he's angry in every scene regardless of what is going on. I'm surprised he's not on this list. Most of the actors here are actually great.
The Bailey Footballer character was shockingly bad, the whole family (apart from Eds brother) can't act. All the talented black actors and they picked this lot - at least they wrote the footballer out! 😖
Dee Dee and Uncle Ronnie can both act. The rest are awful. Lorna Laidlaw who played Aggie was superb in Doctors, she was dreadful in this, possibly due to the awful co stars.
One of the reasons Coronation Street has gone downhill so much in the last 10 years or so is because of the young cast members who can't act to save their lives 😂
Emma Atkins is sublime. Far too good for a Soap. Also Chris Chittel. Amazing scenes when Heathcliff died, from Eric. The look of disbelief, with no histrionics just sheer unbelievable shock.
