Battlefield Earth is clearly on the Mt. Rushmore of all-time bad movies! Can't believe Travolta considered doing a sequel!

Travolta was so into battlefield earth because it was based on a book L. Ron Hubert and he's big into scientology.

I heard it suffered studio involvement and travolta had something more faithful to the book in mind: sequels were meant to be a means to cover the lengthy story in installments. The studio just wanted them to do a one-off Edit: it read that a while ago and i cant give a source, so everything i said basically falls into the category of "just trust me bruh"

Man, that movie is a stinker. I watched it and laughed and I don’t think it’s supposed to be a comedy. But it might be the most ridiculous movie ever made.

I agreed with Ebert much of the time but not always. But he was a very good writer and could be quite eloquent. His reviews were a pleasure to read.

I agree. It has moments of pure comedy brilliance. Jim Carrey's ability to do two different personalities without the help of makeup is pure magic. It's one of his best performances. Also, Charlie's Angels is pure tongue in cheek fluff and it was meant to be that way.

Tobey Starburst I liked it too, actually, although he was right in saying that Harrison Ford cheating on a woman like Michelle Pfieffer was pretty unbelievable. 😂😛

I actually liked "The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas". It was at times very clever and sweet, and the main cast does surprisingly well. It ain't art but it's pleasantly funny and entertaining.

The Lone Wolf At the Movies did great until Roger Ebert left the show in mid-2006.

It looks like in “Battlefield Earth” John Travolta should’ve invested in nose-hair clippers. (I saw that movie maybe around 2000 and laughed hysterically. I think it’s supposed to be a sci-fi drama though. But it’s so bad that Ed Wood would probably cringe if he was alive to see it.)

I saw “What Planet are You From?” many years ago so I’m a bit fuzzy. But I remember thinking it was funny mostly because Annette Bening was very good. I think to like that movie you kind of must suspend disbelief on some plot elements and just go with the flow. But I do remember laughing quite a bit.

Yeh, Roger's right. All these films are just tax write-offs. Top 10?? He could easily have done a Top 100 in a few minutes without even trying. Anything with Adam Sandler in it is a good candidate. That guy is always painful, annoying, and offensive to watch. Should do a Ten Most Overrated Actors list.

Battlefield Earth was so bad I laughed more than most comedy movies. I watched it again and laughed harder. John Travolta really lost touch with reality in that movie.

Dungeons and Dragons, Me, Myself & Irene, What Lies Beneath, The Crew and Isn’t She Great are my top 5 worst movies of 2000. Dungeons and Dragons is a horrible video game spin off compared to Doom with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Me, Myself and Irene is the worst Jim Carrey movie. What Lies Beneath is mediocre horror classic directed by Robert Zemeckis. The Crew is a lame goodfellas spin off. Isn’t She Great is not a terrific comedy.

No list of worst movies is ever complete without Drivel . . ., I mean Driven, "Starring" Sylvester Stallone (2001), Starship Troopers (1997) and Showgirls (1995) both directed by Paul Verhoeven. Dreadful, all three of them, but Driven make Star Wars look like a documentary on the space program.
