These are the absolute WORST HOODS in ORLANDO, FLORIDA 💯 NO TOURIST CRAP STR8 HOODS in the 407 the real streets! 2022, UPDATED video not some statistical crap you find with ONLINE LIST.
I'm a white girl. I would walk down Paramore often when I was taking deliveries from work. I never had a problem and the people were awesome. They've done a lot of improvements out there since the soccer stadium's been built
hey i used to live in orlando and all those hoods he talking about it aint like that your stats is crap trust me bro back in the days it was the place to be i used to walk through paramore night and day i also lived on mercy drive in the palms i loved it also the bean pokin bean that is yall know what im talking i never had a bad time there i loved my time living their with the exception of oakridge and sanford i have lived in all those hoods and my daughter grew up their so its not all that bad at all shout out to all the older heads from back in the day keep ya head up do you be safe
None of those areas are that bad. If you go into any area looking for trouble you will get it. I worked in a lot of those areas cause my job had work to do in a lot of those areas I never had any problems with anybody out there. Shouts out to all of my peoples in Orange County, APK, Pine Hills, Rosemont, West 50, Winter Garden, Mercy Dr., SilverStar, Texas ave, Ivey Lane, Tangelo Park, Malibu, Rio Grande, Parramore, Richmond Heights, Seminole County Sanford, Altamonte, Longwood, Casselberry, Eatonville.
I taught at an elementary school in Pine Hills (Crime Hills), but lived in Winter Park from 2004-2013. There was a huge difference between my neighborhood versus the one that I taught at. I had 5th grader students that would tell me when I leave school to drive at least to MetroWest before I get out of the car because they didn't want me shot.
I’ve lived in Orlando all my life. Most crime is isolated. No drive by’s like that. If someone has an issue or know who they want to rob, they go directly to that individual. Very seldom you’ll hear of random acts of violence. Most criminals here have more respect for innocent women and children than most big cities.
Omg, thank goodness for this. We have been in Orlando for a week and spending our time driving looking for Homes for sale. priority is a safe neighborhood. So far no luck as it seems our budget is not high enough for a “nicer” hood. We've been to some places you've mentioned today. I hope you will cover and blog the “safer” areas ( & suburbs) that are not so pricey.
Maaaaaaan I was here talking in love with a house for sale but the price is way too good to be true so I had to see if RU-vid had some useful info and here you go. The property I was looking at is right smack in the middle of the neighborhoods in this video 😮 Thank you so much for saving me from a huge mistake!
Using my wife's account because I almost never make any online comments. I was a cop in Orlando in the 90's, in District 36, which was basically the Mercy Drive area. I also worked Paramore (which is a short street), and Ivey (though part of that is in the county). I was a wild man during those times, after working federal drug interdiction (narco trafficking in the Carib, Mexico, Central and South Am. with U.S. Customs and DEA). I can tell you that I got my regular adrenaline fix on the evening and midnight shifts in W. Orlando. You could go south on Paramore from W. Colonial, and turn west on Livingston, and you were guaranteed to get hit with a barrage of rocks, bottles, and occasional gunfire (it was automatic), prompting a county-wide response from OPD, Orange County S.O., FHP, and other LEO's. Ivey was probably the worst, where the average crack dealer (on every other corner) only lived about 2 weeks. There was also a housing project called "The Palms" on Mercy (torn down later I believe). That place was unreal. Lots of crim'in, and automatic rifle fire on party nights. But don't say the cops didn't go somewhere, because the west side cops didn't hesitate to get in the shit. After I left OPD (adrenaline junkie turned expecting father), I saw a story on the news about a female OPD officer that took over my district sometime later who was shot to death. You left out 2 important places though: 1) Church Street Station was a touristy area with bars, restaurants, etc. immediately east of the I-4 overpass, but one bad area of the hood was immediately west of I-4, so tourists would go the wrong way and get robbed, stabbed, shot, etc.; and 2) S. Orange Blossom Trail (OBT). I still remember all the unsuspecting tourists that would use travelocity or some other online travel site to book a hotel and wound up on W. Colonial or OBT, and got robbed, stabbed, shot, etc. If anyone is actually thinking about moving to Orlando, stay in the NE or buy lots of guns and ammo.
Nice work with this! You hit it spot on! Been in the Orlando area since 1980 so yep it's not all fun and games here. People think it's all Disney World here and it's not.
I think you’re doing a good thing by showing the “rough” parts of these cities so hopefully folks wanting to move like to Orlando won’t get screwed by a Realtor & people moving here should know the good places to the not so nice. You do a good service, dude & keep up the good work 😊
I actually agree. This gives someone a little insight into a prospect move to the area. showing the surrounding areas opens up a larger field for out of state or town future residents. They can see what the small suburbs look like. they can see how big yards are in the older areas. Vs the stamp and print extravert factory's
Good looking bro. I'm not even from Orlando. I grew up in Philly and I plan on moving some place warm when it's time to hang it up. Plus I watch a lot of your videos. Orlando vs Tampa neighborhoods and others. Keep doing your thing bro ✊🏾💯
The apartments, on 192, were actually hotels and motels not apartments. A lot either got shut down or turned into where homeless families have to pay to stay.
Dude I find your videos to be extremely informative! Im looking to move to central Florida from Ohio and i wanna know where NOT to live ya know? So thank you for this!
Yeah and old song they really change Pinehills up there trying to have more people moving it’s actually really nice out there compared to what it used to be
Nice vid, got a few laughs out of me. I'd definitely suggest Holden Heights which encompasses OBT around I-4 and just south of it. Pine Hills is big, I'd say the northern edges of it are decent - obviously way north of Silver Star. Haven't been up that way in a long time though. I forget the neighborhood name but 436 near 408 might be of note too. Even beautiful Winter Garden with its lively downtown has a couple sketchy spots but I'm sure people will flip out if you mention it. 😂
I passed thru hood of winter garden one time and had 30 Mfs outside corner store staring at me while I past .. driving slow cuz I was concerned about police and whip had dark tint
I used to deliver prepared snacks for various Head Start facilities in MCO 20 years ago to ALL the hoods mentioned in your video. The one that stood out the most was Mercy Drive at The Palms. The Head Start facility consisted of two portable buildings inside a quadrangle which was surrounded by a barbed wire fence. Looked like a perfect preparation for the school -to-prison pipeline.
I appreciate the honesty and humor. Your right about stats. As for property crimes, in the hood areas there is not much to steal and property crimes don't usually get reported, while in wealthy areas everything gets reported.
Thanks for making this video. I was born in this placed. It has went to the dogs. I absolutely hate it in Orlando. People came from other places and messed up our neighborhoods.
Same here. My family moved to Orlando in the early 70's and my father talks about riding his horse down parts of Semoran BLVD that were unpaved back in those days... Hell, I remember riding my first 3-wheeler on the old TG Lee farmland behind our old house on Gentian Street.
Can honestly say blame our neighboring caribbean for bringing that third world culture here and the transplants from the northeast probably not used to owning land or a home. Yup, I said it.
I grew up in Orlando in the 70's up till 90, aside from all the crime and stuff, just watching footage of these areas brings back memories, I considered all of Orlando my city
I work at the outlets on international drive a block away from Oakridge and my store and the stores here around get hit everyday. The mall doesn't even know what to do anymore. It's EVERYDAY! it became so bad that store are increasing prices to make up for the losses so clients are paying for it.
That's my home town. We are a bit rough around the proverbial edges. My Mom n Dad retired from disney after 30 years. If someone gets mad, it's because you are right.
@@kingkol Well, it is if you find work that can afford it. I lived there most of my life. Lots to do, beach roughly same distance either way. The car scene is real. Legit love for custom rides from 50's night to burnout contests. Legit racing and drifting. Also, the less than legal but still safe-ish stuff too. It gets stupid hot in central Fl. And I have also seen ice on a pond like 4 times in 30 years. Most of Orland has a defensive pride for it being clean. And for the most part it is. Just some old, but not old enough to regentrify areas.
Very nice and informative video, you are the best one I’ve seen to date when it comes to giving real true info on various cities and there areas, always thanks for sharing…👌👏👍💪🏻😀
Thanks for your informative video. In my early years I have been to the states 15 times (I am from Austria/Europe), but haven´t been to the US for the last 15 years and now I am planning to go there with my 14 year old son for the first time. So the info you are providing is very valueable for me, Greeting
I have a Aunt that Lives in Orlando and she live in the Pine Hills area. Which one of the worst places to live in the city. But she is not scared at all and lives by herself.
I noticed that Orlando has a lack of city planning. There are expensive communities that are built adjacent to squalor; we refer to this as the "cabbage patch " city design. The streets followed the homes until someone had the good sense to do it the other way around. They think that they solve the problem by gating the communities but that is bandage on the problem. The politicians have no interest in urban planning. I've seen million dollar homes that face the "Archie Bunker " row houses because even with gated communities there is a limit on fence and hedge height.
I've lived in Akron & Canton. I've lived in some of the worst parts of Orlando. The ghettos in Fl are nothing like the ghettos here. We don't have gangs in Fl like Ohio does. The cultures are completely different.
Yeah, Orlando ghetto is definitely not the same standard as ghettos in other states. When I’ve had family visit me from NY, they’d laugh and say things like “ that’s the worst ya got?” “Y’all call this ghetto?!” Lol
Yes people from up north laugh at our so called ghettos because most times u can't look at the area and tell how bad it is, but don't be naive, there is a lot of crime.
What you said at the end is true it’s about keeping tourists safe because real estate agents will lie or just not say n put them in the middle of the crimes
By law, we are NOT ALLOWED to mention bad areas. It’ll violate the Federal Fair Housing Act. It’s called redlining. It is considered a discriminatory practice. But we suggest to do homework and see the area yourself.
I think it would be a white person's worst nightmare to get lost and end up in one of these parts of town. Especially after sundown. I don't think I'm being racist I'm just being fear Factor. 😬
I lived in Orlando 10 years, and no lies detected on this video. However some of the hoods listed are worse than others. Pine hills, mercy drive/ivey lane local businesses has really good food places. (Washington shores seafood, Nikkis place, or carribean restaurants)
Orlando native here! I grew up downtown off S. Orange Ave. Basically downtown. Moved around as a college student renting rooms and working. Lived off 2nd St. In Sanford for 4 yrs. Lived off Main St in APK! Used to drive to Ivy Lane to get the BEST shrimp and conch fritters off window with bars. A restaurant run by Haitians. And yes....I went to OAK RIDGE HIGH✌. It was an F rated school in the 90's lol. I got my GED from Orlando Tech a year before I was supposed to graduate for this reason alone lol. Im 39 and decided to move out east ass Orlando 5 yrs ago and Im appalled at the urban sprawl...soon Bithlo going to be gentrified...its getting there. Shit is crazy over here. Theres a hood in every neighborhood😂 PS ....yes I bought drugs in all those hoods when I was young...js
I mean, at least Bithlonians don't haveta deal with 50 year old motor oil and 2 month old transmission fluid ending up in the water no more. Grew up in Bonneville, then moved out to bithlo now up by the cheesheads
@candima I'm not looking to buy just yet would like to rent for at least the first year while I get the feel of the area. Definitely looking for reasonable. 3+ bedroom Homes/Apts under $2k a month in a decent neighborhood. Does that exist there? (Thanks for responding btw)
I went to vacation in Orlando not too long ago... we saw a dead dude on the street, and this was OUTSIDE downtown Orlando. I'm sure he died from an overdose! (It was in a rough neighborhood, too)
I grew up in pine hills I was born in 71 live there through the '80s to the early 90s it used to be one of the best places to move in Orlando if you can believe that
John young pkwy is where i was trafficked. I was at the bus station and got trafficked in the motel 6. The detective told me i was lucky to be alive. The sad thing is, he was from the virgin islands, and got NO jail time except for when they rescued me. He paid off the Prosecutor. The most terrifying time of my life.
Ugh 🤦🏾♀️ yeah I was told to stay clear of those area’s i was born in Orlando fl and was raised on swanson st in the Windermere fl area and was homeschooled
Rosemont yep. I think a lot of the locals who have been here for many many years do know the typical areas with the most news stories. Let's not forget Azalea Park. Now those flowers are not always blooming right in Azalea.
Dude _ with all respect to the rest ( but ) you guys ( are ) top notch ! whether ppl like it or not : no one _ and i mean ( no one ) is doing the most honest sincere work _ that no one does because of different personal interest _ word 🔥
Ah, nothing like home. I certainly do not miss the traffic though. I spent some time near Mercy Drive working as a Selector/Lift Operator at the old Winn-Dixie Warehouse on 2nd Shift... Wild Nights, LOL!!! Made quite a few friends from there and miss the chaos. Made quite the legend at the time Selecting Beef/Seafood(80+lb frozen cases) at 115-130% production. 🤷♂😎
I must add these few in the mix of shady neighborhoods: South Semoran, LB McLeod, East 192, and Kirkman Ave. All these places sure gave me goosebumps while driving at night.
10 min thats not an apartment complex its the old Marriot resort at I-4 and 192, its been a couple different names, the 2004 hurricanes badly damaged it and it just never recovered
Ive lived on OBT & oakridge my 36 years. Currently on texas the past 2 years lol If you havent already, dont forget Timberskan next time!!! Lol good video man
The next time u come back to Metropolitan Orlando, don't forget Rosemont, Orla Vista, Eatonville, Lee Road, Tangelo Park, Lockhart, Winter Garden, Tildenville, Plymouth, Zellwood, and Azela Park!
I loved this video! This is my City… and the 1 thing I ALWAYS hear from ALL my friends and family that come visit from out of state is how different Orlando is from what u think it is because of how Orlando is marketed or sold. People see the theme parks and the fancy destination resorts and forget that all that flashiness is all inclusive. Meaning if your not staying in the Disney, Universal or timeshare resorts ur NOT GONNA EXPERIENCE ANY OF THAT. people don’t realize how much power Disney has… they have so much power that they control what news comes out of Orlando in efforts to not shine a spotlight on the reality that this is a growing metropolis with A LOT OF LOW INCOME EMPLOYMENT AND HIGH LIVING COST. UNFORTUNATELY UNLESS U HAVE A JOB THAT PAYS 150,000 or more you will either live in the hood or live in a nice area with about 10 roommates. Orlando is nice and beautiful BUT ITS NOT THE SAFESTCITY BY FAR. BUT ITS AN AMAZING CITY TO GROW UP IN!
I live on the west side of Orlando in the link s hills area I live off lowers and its not all bad but their are def some really bad areas even close to where I live an anything off obt is pretty bad as well it really depends what part of that neighborhood your in
I am from orlando and dont be fooled alot of these people do know the actual names of the areas in the O but they are more comfortable by ackowledging the areas by the street names. It a turf thing mantality and yes some dont know either! I am from richmond heights i stay in the Richmond estates neighborhood which is connected to the prince hall neighborhood also know as lil egypt
Grew up in O-town. Very accurate info..most of those areas are the oldest and at one time (Been here since the '60's) were just average neighborhoods. Moved a few counties over decades ago. Orlando is just too busy for me. I'll take my smaller town any day.
As a white boy I lived in Paramore in the 90s and I went to Memorial middle school it was a all black school too. I had more friends there then I ever did at a white school.
Man … mercy drive is close to Lotte Market. That’s sad. Considering I was renting a car and driving up to the Korean mart from WDW and it too me to the shadiest neighborhoods.
