Temple of the Ocean King gave me such anxiety when I was a kid that my heart-rate still speeds up just from seeing those Phantom armours.

Let us be real guys, Princess Ruto is the ultimate weapon inside that dungeon. Just throw her at any enemy and it will die :D

At least you can throw Ruto at enemies to hurt them.

The great bay temple really got me crying with RAGE

City in the sky is like the calm of the storm, personally I like the slow pace because everything that follows is like BAM!! Twilight stuff.

Gonna say it. The Water Temple in OOT is not that bad. People overreact WAY to much to it.

City in the Sky is actually one of my favorite dungeons in the whole series.

That moment you were introduced to the legend of Zelda through the phantom hourglass.. And like every bit of it.

The Temple of Time in Twilight Princess was one of my favorites.

I'm totally not surprised by The Temple of the Ocean King being #1. I actually really like Phantom Hourglass, but I'll admit that the Temple of the Ocean King is a slog. I don't mind it THAT much because the shortcuts help quite a bit, but the length and boring music make it a lot more of a chore than it ought to be.

Just played The water temple in ocarina, honestly didn’t have that much of a problem Then again I played the 3ds version

Even worse in great bay on the 3ds, fast swimming uses magic.

I loved Jabu-Jabu's belly tbh. I like how challenging it is and the atmosphere is nice, for a belly.

I liked the Temple of the Ocean King as a kid. I would replay it even when not required to just to see if I could get a better time.

What if Ruto wrote it and put it in the chest because paper + stomach acid = wad of paste? Also, that isn't water. It's stomach acid. Ruto drowned because acid got in her gills, an event that fish have even less control over than humans. A human can just hold his breath and get out, cleaning the acid off and surviving with nothing missing but their skin and clothes. Basically they'd look like a Titan, but they wouldn't die. Blindness is probably going to happen though. We don't have the most durable eyelids. They are literally just two sheets made of skin with hair on the bottom. A Zora would have the acid burn their gills, because they don't have a choice whether they breathe it in. Her respiratory system was destroyed.

I actually really liked the temple of the ocean king, you always can improve your time with the items and create more and more efficient routes every time. You can complete the puzzles in a different and faster way pretty much every time you come back to it. It stressed me out hardcore as a kid though.

The OoT water temple’s saving grace was the Dark Link mini-boss fight.

I dont think the water temple is that bad only if you have a zora tunic its hard without it but the temple that gave me the most problems is the forest temple

Speaking of jabu jabu's belly how can that giant dungeon fit inside him? I mean compare the size of it to the size of him from the outside.

Personally I love temple of the ocean king, going back and being able to do it better due to your new items is satisfying and I love the vibe that it gives off.

Why does everyone hate the water temple in OoT? It's actually my second favorite dungeon in OoT.

I can't help but disagree, I absolutely loved the Phantom Hourglass. It gave a real sense of fear in the atmosphere, mystery, and excitement. Taking note from Majoras Mask, the more you learned, the easier it was to progress much faster and it felt like you really were learning, growing in courage and wisdom from experience. I as much as I would have loved to explore more of the overall world of Phantom Hourglass, the main temple was quite enjoyable.

City in the sky was probably one of my favorite even though like you said, you wait. It is indeed a tough one, but I love the music and I also loved the boss fight.

I never really understood all the stuff about the water temple. I played it for the first time about 10 years ago- when I was 12- and I beat it pretty easily. If I had an n64 when I was about 5 and tried it, I definitely would not be able to do it, though. It's definitely one of the harder dungeons in the game and if you're playing it as a kid then it's probably going to give you a hard time, but if you're an adult or even a teenager I don't see how it could give you a lot of trouble.

I have to agree with most of your list, but I must say, the Temple of the Ocean King was actually one of my favorites as a kid. I've always enjoyed the stealth mechanic though, and I didn't really find the hourglass to be much of a problem; in fact, when it runs out, you can still survive for a decent amount of time by just sticking to the safe zones as much as possible and drinking life potions. The reason I really loved this temple though is the amount of thought they put into the level design. The shortcuts when you're revisiting old levels are really well thought out, and it was incredibly fun playing through a level you don't need to learn the layout of (because you've already seen it the first time you played it), and suddenly realizing that you can now hit a particular switch, or uncover a wind spout, or even hook together two torches and slingshot yourself onto a hidden ledge, in order to rocket through those levels. Sure, sometimes it was a bit of a chore, but I feel like that can be said about any temple in any game. Of course, you're entitled to your opinion, but I just had to share mine. Great video, though!

OMG, Temple of the Ocean King is one of the best things in PH. The puzzles were among the best in the whole franchise, plus stealth mechanic + time limit made it challenging (something that's become very rare in Zelda). It's part of why PH is an overall better game than ST.

You know what would've been amazing in Majora's Mask? If instead of the Pirate Fortress being the mini dungeon, it was the main dungeon and Great Bay was just a short mini-dungeon

Most people ignore the fact that city in the sky makes ooccoo pretty much useless, it takes you to the shop which is considered in the dungeon so you have to get to where you last left off.

Agree with The Forsaken Fortress but I think of it more of a tutorial for the new stealth ability in the game. Also, it makes the second time you go through it so much better because then you have all your equipment and get to take revenge on all the stupid enemies that pissed you off the first time

since phantom hourglass was my first game, i’ve played it about 30 times and one of my favourite parts is the temple of the ocean king. mainly because i know how to do everything within 10 minutes and know where all the hidden items are, but it brings back so many memories

i loved the water temple. it had me constantly evaluating what i learn throughout the dungeon and solving puzzles like most zelda dungeons are designed to make you do.

I actually really liked the great bay temple! It’s the snowhead dungeon that I really hate. It was just always too difficult for me

When I played my first play through of ocarina of time on the fire temple I reached the megaton hammer and I fell off the ledge and had to reach the top floor again... :(

I hated the first half of the city in the sky but the second half (after you get the second claw shot) I started really liking it

Although I suffered in the great bay temple for like an entire week, I will admit the feeling I got when I FINALLY finished the dungeon and could move on to one of my favorite dungeons in the entire series was priceless.

Sadly I played majoras mask and Oot on my 3ds and I made it to great bay and water temple, I beat them both but my game crashed on both of them and I had to restart them. OOF

Hmm, I actually thought the Great Bay Temple had pretty good flow. The worst of the backtracking is to reverse the water flow, which makes it a clever precursor to the next one (a temple rearranged horizontally leads to one manipulated vertically). Snowpeak was the one that struck me as tedious. Continuously climbing up and down that thing was a pain, especially if you fell at any point.

I was in one of the Temples in Majora's Mask 3D on the 3DS. Part of me is STILL waiting for that dreaded Moon timer.

Perhaps it was because I love Spirit Tracks and had played it three times through before I picked up Phantom Hourglass, but I didn't really have an issue with the Temple of the Ocean King. I'm not saying I enjoyed it much, but I was pretty indifferent through it.

I never understood the hate for great bay. I like it because its fairly small and doesnt take too much time to maneuver around because of the awesome swimming mechanics. Plus the ice arrows are sick and I love that the fairies are so well hidden. The one thing I agree with is reversing the water, which is annoying - but you shouldnt have to do it more than a few times if you know what you're doing

I disagree with the forsaken fortress. One of the best dungeons IMO cuz of how unique it is. Being sneaky and different ways to combat the dungeon make it fun. Just a fun atmosphere rather than your average temples that are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring.

Great Bay Temple is unironically my favourite dungeon ever

I actually had a problem with the Wind Temple in Windwaker. I was so focused on beating the boss so i could have the hookshot. And then i realized "Wait, i don't have the big key...." So i had to backtrack to the beginning of the temple JUST to play some song to break open the rock, fight the darknut and go back to the boss door to be greeted with a huge worm

Water Temple whiners should just learn to play. The OOT Water Temple might be annoyingly long, but it had a cool atmosphere and it was amazing and complex level design for it's time. And the Majoras Mask Water Temple was way easier, swimming was fun with the Zora mask, the mini bosses were cool... but yeah, Gyorg sucked.

honestly. i think city in the sky is kinda creepy. for one, the music sounds like some sorta movie made by tim burton. and for two. the fact that people say it is similar to m.c eshers another world. which looks kinda creepy on its own.

Bro the forsaken fortress was my favorite part about wind waker. Wind waker was like my first zelda game when I was younger. It's probably still one of my favorite zelda games. I could only get to the plant boss thing with the tentacles at the deku tree but the forsaken fortress was awesome to me

I personally LOVE Phantom Hourglass Ocean king temple but I am also fairly biased as that was my first Zelda game.

Phantom hourglass wasn't that half bad, it had cool puzzles and bosses, of the temple of the ocean king was taken out, the game would be WAAAY better

Funny enough I actually enjoyed Great Bay Temple, it stood out a lot from the rest of the game and I liked all the mechanical shenanigans going on there plus navigating is not so hard as soon as you figure out that you just have to follow the lit up pipes
