Heard a story in which a guy told of his former girlfriend who had a moderately successful RU-vid channel. A few months after the relationship ended, he started getting death threats via email from her fans. That’s when he learned that she was using her platform to falsely claim he had been abusive and painting herself as a domestic abuse survivor. He sued her for defamation and won. Her family begged him to drop the lawsuit many times, saying that it could ruin her life. But she showed a callous disregard for *his* life when she told her followers lies that he used to slap her and violate her. Not to mention that she shared enough identifying information that her followers found him and harassed him relentlessly.

You forgot to mention the part of the Onision Debacle where he sued Chris Hanson, only to learn he sued the wrong Chris Hanson.

My favorite content creator, RSlash, was embroiled in a bit of controversy. His channel in which he reads Reddit posts from a variety of subs exploded in popularity seemingly overnight! As of this comment, he’s on the cusp of 2 million followers. Another RU-vidr accused him of sub botting, which he firmly denied. He even showed his statistics that prove he is getting all legitimate followers. He refused to identify his accuser, though because he didn’t want to risk his followers harassing another channel.

Later on, she was found dead from what authorities believe is a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Her father told the press, his daughter was angry because RU-vid stopped paying for content she posted online. She had been also criticized by people because of her content until that time.

If you don't know these people then what I said is true. You can be super popular and still unknown to most people. I bet I have at least one on the list that appears on this video. If NONE of these are on the video that even farther proves that huge fan bases don't make you famous. Its just as big as any one channel is the world is MUCH bigger and I still know people who haven't heard of ANY RU-vidrs at all. Not every one uses it. its just one of those deep thoughts that make you feel small. Thoughts that show how the world has changed, moved away from Hollywood.
