TOP 100 60'S ROCK ALBUMS - HOW MANY HAVE I HEARD? 

Hey Larry! I own 62 of those, thought the number would be higher. I'm surprised some of these did not make the list; Jethro Tull - This Was, Stand Up Moody Blues - To Our Childrens Children, In Search of the Lost Chord, Days of Future Pretty Things - SF Sorrow Procol Harum - Shine On Brightly, Self-titled Sly Stone - Stand!, Dance to the Music Roy Orbison - Oh! Pretty Woman, Crying

The ‘Small Faces’ album from 1967 was their 2nd UK album Larry. The 1st also being called ‘Small Faces’ and released on Decca in 1966.

They missed, Spirit their first 3, The Move “Shazam” and Love’s first 2 albums and tons more.

Hi Larry this is a great list I have around 3/4 of these and love most of them. I am a big fan of blues. Johnney Winter "the progressive blues experiment" is not on the list but lately I can't get enough of it. The Blomfield, Cooper and Stills blues sessions is on the list is great also the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. BB King and Buddy Guy had a lot of great albums in the 60s. I guess its a rock list not a blues list but many of them cross over.

Beatles!,Beatles!,Beatles!,that pretty much sums up the sixties for me Larry,there was other good stuff out there as well like the Byrds,the Kinks,the Who,the Animals,Dylan and the Stones,etc and of course Jimi Hendrix,the Monkees and Led Zeppelin but truthfully the Beatles ruled the sixties for me Larry,yea!,yea!,yea! A selection of successful 60s rock bands albums. I'm glad they included the 2 Grateful Dead albums. Live/Dead was one of the several albums that sold me on the superiority of the compact disc format - you didn't have to turn the record over to listen to the rest of the album. The same with The Who's Tommy. I'm not too sure what I could add or subtract from this list, but you found it to be adequate for this presentation and that's fine with me.

100 slots aren't enough for all the great 60's releases. These list videos you do are fun to watch and have turned into a game for me, and BINGO! I happen to have all of these on the list mostly on vinyl, but I still love CDs also.

A real eye opener as to where time has gone.

There's too many in there I don't have, but would love to get eventually. If I had been born in '61 instead of '71, I would have had more for sure.

Chicago's debut album should have been there. From Genesis To Revelation was missing but I did not expect it either. Bee Gees should have been there but they were not. Charley Pride had some nice albums in the 60's but I was not expecting any of that and it didn't appear either. There were a lot of great singles in the 60's. Maybe there are single lists as well.

Note: George Harrison was influenced by the Byrds' Mr Tambourine Man album so much he wrote If I Needed Someone because of that 12 string sound. It was not the Byrds being influenced by The Beatles specific sound. In anrly case, Piper is my fave 60's experience album period.

I 100% agree with people that say the Beatles were the kings of the 60s. I love all of there albums, including Yellow Submarine. Other favourites of mine from the decade include Pet Sounds, the first 2 Led Zeppelin albums and The Doors debut album. xxx

One of the greatest decades in music. It’s definitely the most important decade. The Beatles were the kings of that decade. Led Zeppelin’s first two albums are also masterpieces.

Great list. I would add Elvis, Chuck Berry, Gene Vincent, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, the Ronettes, Aretha Franklin… I have all the studio albums plus some from my favourite artists that were shown on the list and in no real order they are - Cream, The Yardbirds, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Velvet Underground, The Stooges, The Zombies, The Beach Boys and The Beatles. I recently heard Kick Out the Jams - MC5 for the first time and loved it - it’s a live album. I don’t like the Byrds so you’re not missing much but then again I don’t like the Kinks so you might take my opinion with a pinch of salt. My favourite 60s albums are Axis Bold As Love, Strange Days, Roger the Engineer, Disraeli Gears and Beggar’s Banquet just to name five. One album from the list that I have but I should listen to more is John Mayall Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton. An album I want to hear is Truth Jeff Beck.

There were lots missing. On the list. There were lots of albums that were still popular despite not being bestsellers

No Shades of Deep Purple?..No Spirit-Spirit, Mamas and the PaPas-Mamas and the Papas, Jethro Tull- Stand up and This Was, Pink Floyd- Saucerful of Secrets, Country Joe and the Fish- I feel like Im fixin to Die? In my opinion there are quite a few on that list that could be bumped off by these!

I've got 67 of them. Can't believe you have no Byrds or Yardbirds! MOBY GRAPE's first is one of the best sixties albums. So is the first album by IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY, and that should be on the list. Where's CHICAGO TRANSIT AUTHORITY? The Beach Boys TODAY is probably their best album after PET SOUNDS, SUNFLOWER, and SURF'S UP. Jethro Tull STAND UP. Frank Sinatra's SEPTEMBER OF MY YEARS and FRANCIS ALBERT SINATRA & ANTONIO CARLO JOBIM aren't rock, but they're brilliant. The Left Banke's WALK AWAY RENEE/PRETTY BALLERINA. The Monkees' HEADQUARTERS. Poco's PICKIN' UP THE PIECES might be the greatest country-rock album of all-time. James Taylor's first album on Apple (1968) gets passed over, but it's his strongest collection of songs.

I think my count was 93 I own or have owned. The ones I haven’t…the Greatful Dead albums, Blue Cheer, Iron Butterfly, 1st Blood Sweat and Tears, first Allman Brothers.

Grateful Dead - Anthem of the Sun and their Live album - I have never listened to - ugghhh - I have a hard time with jam bands...still not bad - only 2...

The Stones debut was missing.

Larry..you need some Byrds..A lot of classic albums left off this list..I did good..the only ones I don’t have are Beach Boys, Velvet Underground and MC5. I am not a fan of those bands so what can I say..fun video..👍❤glen

I might not have included With the Beatles. Good album, but among the decade's top 100 albums? Not for me anyway. I have all those Byrds albums except Notorious Byrd Brothers. I'd replace it with For Our Children's Children's Children by The Moody Blues. The debut album from Chicago Transit Authority belongs here for certain.

Mostly a great bunch of albums but, very bias to the late 1960s. Very few recordings from 1960-63, Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan might be the only one. Not a whole lot from 1964-65.

No Otis Blue or any Aretha. Not good.
