Was? He still hits like a truck and is a 50 goal scorer until he starts declining there’s no was. But your dead on with the him being a unique player. When you think of one of the top 3 goal scorer’s in NHL history you don’t think of a guy who is 6’3” 238lbs and solid as a rock yet quick and hits as hard as one of his one timers from his office.
Kronwall was by far the best hitter throughout the decade, he had huge hits throughout his whole career and still in his last year he played and they were always clean.
I didn't see Kronwall vs Umburger, and I believe he got him twice. Maybe I'm thinking of a Philly hit on Umburger. Either way, he has got to have CTE, dude can't keep his head up.
My hope is that there will be plenty of Seider and Maataa hits in the 2020s edition. If they could level the opposition as well as Kronwall and Tootoo did here, then the Wings are in good hands defensively.
Plenty of unnecessary hits like the one by Datsyuk and hits to the bench. You can't have top 100 hits of the decade without Ovi on Malkin, Kadri on ovi, McCabe on Laine, Jordan Nolan's hit, Kronwall on Kucherov, Chara on Pacioretty.
Damm! One missing though. Johnny Boychuk on Braden Coburn 2011 playoffs Bruins vs Flyers game three. I’m surprised Johnny Destroychuk isn’t represented here
