I have a female betta who used to be in the tank with an african dwarf frog, never had any issues with each other. Just thought it was an interesting pairing!

Female bettas tend to be less aggressive than the males and can actually be kept with multiple other female bettas, so maybe this had a play in the compatibility between those two.

Not exactly, But definitely depends upon the size of tank and amount of plants say above 30 gallons filled with a lot and lots of plants to break the line of sight can work

Last week released 4 pairs of harlequin rasboras to my betta tank. Eating ok but not moving much(harlequin). Each harlequin fish is fixed in a different place. Is this a problem or are harlequins naturally less mobile?

I have a 100 ltr(3 feet) tank. Having 10 female Bettas, 2 Dwarf Gourami, 2 silver Angel babies, about 12-15 guppies and a saemis algae eater. Can you suggest me anything to keep them up in good condition always. It's been 2 months since I put these together in my 2nd tank.

What do you think about a Balloon molly with a male Betta? I love the Cory catfish because they don’t go after the algae that my Zebra Nerite snail wants. The snail is my algae eater, and I want to make sure it has enough to eat. So, I just want some bottom feeders or non-competitive others.

only one betta if male because they will fight for territory! And for multiple female bettas (usually called betta sororities) you need a more than 10 gallons because otherwise even females will fight. But of course first and foremost do your own research!

My samurai betta absolutely hates cherry barbs… his mission is to destroy them if they are anywhere in sight and if they’re out of sight he’ll look for them. Had to separate. Testing w/ just one barb now if he get’s tired of trying to kill it eventually.

Female bettas only if you want a dead fish, tetras of all kinds will out swim and nip are know for nipping at bettas which will stress them out, guppies only work when you don’t get long finned or colorful ones are all bright colored fish bettas hate! If you actually want to give one a tank mate then talk to people who have already done so successfully. There are many groups on social media dedicated to bettas but ultimately know this, bettas are happy being alone! They only time they aren’t is when they want to mate and only happens when a male sees a female and they are both ready to do so and again you should do serious research before adding them for this as they can kill each other afterwards or if put together too soon! Last tip is that even calm female groups also known as sororities often end up with dead bettas. So honestly just get yourself a 5 gallon tank minimum, add live plants or at least silk fake plants as they won’t harm your betta like plastic ones will, and be happy with that. Trust me, your betta is happy alone.

Bettas might try to eat smaller shrimp species like cherry shrimp for example but they can be put with larger shrimp like blue wood shrimp or vampire shrimp.

Non of them are good tankmates in my opinion. Appropriate tankmates for Bettas are snails and shrimps, like in its habitat. Shrimps under 3cm will be eaten but 3cm and more are perfect. It is just a small chance that the Betta kill everybody. There should be snails and shrimps first in the tank before you add the Betta. So the chance is much higher that this will work. Bettas really don‘t like other fish in their territory. That’s their nature. However, what can work are female Bettas if the aquarium is large enough and with enough hiding places. I agree with you at that point. But all the other „tankmates“ are in my own experience more or less unsuitable.

Unlucky, in my experience some bettas have aggressive personalities whereas some don’t and are more docile it kinda depends upon your betta to decide which tank mates.
