Top 15 Best Fighting Games for N64 

Fighter Destiny 1 and 2 and Flying Dragon are all great, I always recommend all three to anyone looking for good niche fighting games on the N64.

Mace the dark age is the best I grew up in that time because I was born in 99. I played that game all the time.

I mean, Clayfoghters Sculptur's Cut is actually a worse version of the 63 1/3 imo, besides having a lot more characters... it's plays and feels so awkward...

3:18 This game, was also going to be released on Playstation, but it was canceled because the developers tried to use the assets from the arcade and nintendo 64 editions, for Playstation and when they discovered that it was not possible it was already too late to make their respective port and also Since it didn't do so well on Nintendo 64, they thought it wasn't going to succeed on Playstation either. PS Here they were something basic

My games of choice back then were mace, smash and wcw vs nwo revenge. Also had clay fighter and killer instinct but didn't play them as much.

Killer Instinct should be first altough it sounded horribly thats because its an emulator right?

My top 4 #1: Super Smash bros #2: Mortal Kombat trilogy #3: Killer instinct Gold #4: Mortal Kombat 4 There was a few other good ones but honestly the 64 for me was used either for awesome single player titles like mario and zelda or insane multiplayer games like goldeneye, mario kart 64 , and mario party. I actually prefer the 64 over the PS1. However I feel the PS1 tops the 64 in two specific categories and that is RPGs and Fighting games for sure. While I feel the N64 tops the PS1 in exclusives , more unique titles , 3-D platformers , adventure/rpgs, and insane multiplayer games. PS1 owners can brag all they want about all the games. However I feel Mario 64, Ocarina of time, Smash bros, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Mario party , and mario kart offer more uniqueness than anything on the PS 1. The PS 1 was awesome lets be honest. However I certainly feel it didn't really change the game like most claim. It was simply more popular and part of that was the developer support. Take away Konami , Capcom , Square , and namco and the PS1 offers little honestly. The PS1 was a continuation of what had come before , with better graphics and sound. The n64 though innovated so much that we still see its genius in today's game's.

The N64 isn't very strong in this genre. IMO, that's the only reason that Smash Bros even exists, lol. Other than Smash Bros, MK4, maybe MK Trilogy are the only real top-tier fighters on the system. The rest is "interesting" like Fighter's Destiny, or "lame af" like Xena or ClayFighter.

Not gonna lie. Most of these games are total trash. If the N64 would have had some fighting games with the quality of Tekken, Virtua Fighter, or Soul Caliber, it would have been a game changer for Nintendo.
