Hey everyone hope you enjoyed the video! Let me know your favourite Wii games down below! And if you want to see more of my top games, check out this playlist! - ru-vid.com/group/PLcbv4UzwWRK1OjSgBlwNd9xhvAetNKseN
Good idea to make it “best 15 Wii games that aren’t Mario or Zelda”! Makes it more unpredictable and fun. If I was to make any additions to the list they would be; Punch-Out!! (Superb update with actually working controls) Ivy the Kiwi (Yuji Naka’s best game since the Mega Drive!) Tatsunoko vs Capcom (Unbelievable we got it in the west, the character rooster is super charming)
Before even watching the whole video im just gonna say im glad youre not including Mario, Zelda, or Smash, those being the obvious top choices for any Nintendo fan
This couldn't have come along at a better time. Currently staying with my mum as I am between homes, everything is in storage and of course, there is a Wii under the telly. Time to start playing some Wii over the next week or two!
That’s great! Do you have many games for it already or going to look on eBay for some? I did a follow up to this vid with some hidden gems too if you any more recommendations :D
Cool to see Fragile Dreams and Excite Truck in your top 15. These 2 along with RE4 and No more heroes are essentials for a Wii-collection. Nice video. I'm almost sure that Batman: the brave and the bold will be in your hidden gems video...
Thanks for the rundown list, I have a lot of shared top games with your list. Never got hold of last story though! But glad to see a fellow fragile dreams fan on RU-vid.🎉
As someone who's usually watching these sorts of videos because I'm done playing the popular choices for the system, I was very pleasantly surprised to hear not one but two new titles and I'm pretty excited to try them out thanks !!
Sin and Punishment 2 is my all time favourite Wii game and my favourite rail shooter of all time, and boy did I have rail shooters on the Wii. The Wii saved lightgun games. S&P 2 was a bullet hell on rails shooter and was utterly bonkers. Big shout out for House of the Dead Overdrive too.
Red Steel 2. One of the rare games that properly fulfills the promise of the Wii controllers and isn’t targeted to little kids and families. Last time I played Red Steel 2 was about… ten minutes ago actually. This game holds up. Bonus difficulty mode: play it with weight accessories attached to the controllers (get the ones with the weight below the controller, not the “dumbbell style”. Fun workout.
Some great choices mate, I love me Wii collection too. There are a lot of games that people dont really know or have played either. The only one out of your list Im not a fan of these days is the Resi Evil 4 game. I got it on the Switch recently and hated it. Weird as I used to love the title. But yeah really didnt enjoy playing it again. (Resi 1 and 0 were great to go back to though) I might have to make one of these videos as I have a ton of games I love on the system too!! Cheers for the video ;)
I'm really getting in to collecting for the wii as there are so many brilliant games for it once you look past the usual mario, zelda and sports/fit games.
Oh, wow. Had this video on my watchlist since it was released and just now had the chance to view it. Without watching the video, I also ordered the Another Code R on Monday - looking forward to playing this one, soon! :)
@@RetroBreak Finally Finally someone who recommending fragile dreams as one of the best wii games BTW where can I find the last story poster I too want one
Definitely loved ExciteTruck at first sight! Was my very first Wii game that I played when it was at my local game store demo station and I was simply in awe! I couldn’t put the controller down. Definitely one of my favorites and I absolutely LOVE EXCITEBOTS!
YES I am SO happy to see The Last Story here! It deserves more love and recognition, but sadly it was overshadowed by Xenoblade because of Shulk being in Smash Bros. I'd love to see a re-release on Switch.
I feel like I haven't been commenting on your videos lately because I became a patron lol. I like that you put Fragile Dreams on here, that game certainly doesn't get enough love!
Welcome back the comments section! 😄 Yeah I never hear anyone talking about Fragile Dreams so I had to include it :D don’t remember that much of the story but I know at the time when it came out I loved it! Really need to play it again!
Awesome video man! And awesome to see the wii get some love. It’s one of my fav consoles ever and I’ve had a blast collecting for it. Specially finding hidden gems. A hidden gem that no one really talks about is the game tin tin. I highly recommend u to try this game out. I thought it was pretty fun for a game based off the movie. Fun gameplay and good graphics.
My top ten Wii games 1.Donkey Kong Country Returns 2. Metroid Prime Trilogy 3. Sin and Punishment Star Successor 4. Sonic Colours 5. Resident Evil 4 6. Zelda Skyward Sword 7. Super Smash Bros Brawl 8. Mario Kart Wii 9. Wario Land Shake Dimension 10. Wii Sports Resort
I subscribed, because you spelled out the word in trackmania map haha. Really great video, and I'm glad you excluded the main stays Mario and Zelda, so I can learn of different titles
@@RetroBreak you deserve a bigger following. I've been binging your stuff the past few days. I'm coming over to London from Australia in a few days. Are there any interesting/ quirky gaming stores you would recommend? I looked up that London Gaming Market you did a vid on (great vid btw) and I sadly just missed it
Thanks! There’s not many good ones in London unfortunately… there are two I want to check out in Croydon though, which isn’t too far from the city centre, Playnation games and Game On. Might be worth checking out! Shame you didn’t come last weekend then you could have gone to the market! Hope you have a good time anyway :)
@@RetroBreak Thanks mate. I'm actually heading to Croydon in April, so will definitely check them out. Thank you for the recommendations! Fingers crossed, if the stars align, we might catch you there. There's a few Wii titles that are extremely expensive in OZ, so hopefully I'm lucky in that respect. Take care
Nice list! What I also played very often was "The House of the Dead: Overkill" - very fun, especially with two people & some Beers. ;) Then there was also the very underrated "Grand Slam Tennis". It took some time to get used to it, but then it unfolded its genius - especially online.
I got Grand Slam Tennis when I ordered another tennis game and the disc inside was wrong, I actually found GST more fun than the original game I was getting!
Lots of goodies on here, Pandoras tower is definatly my favourite Wii game at the moment. Loved it for so long and it feels like it's constantly forgotten. Such an amazing game.
Great list! I actually played Kirby's (Extra) Epic Yarn on the 3DS earlier this year, and I've also been meaning to get around to playing Klonoa and Xenoblade Chronicles! Also you have SO MANY WII GAMES! It's great to see!
Thanks glad you enjoyed it! Wanted to make sure it was a unique and interesting list! :D If you want to see some more unique Wii games, I also did a hidden gems video last week! :)
Thanks! Yeah can't believe i've been making videos for so long! If you want to see my journey over those 14 years I detailed it in my 10k subs video a few weeks ago! :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--2DB38fXkXs.html
Good picks. I would agree with most of them (except the horror titles, because that's a genre that leaves me cold). Personally I would add Zack and Wiki to the list, and of course Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers (ok... maybe leave that one out )
Great list. I never had Nintendo WII. Two weeks ago I ordered one (full set, with 3-4 gamecube controllers, wiimote plus etc.) for like 60-70 EUR. I started researching games - I plan to keep it for a month, play for a while and then my colleague will pick it up for her kids, so I'm trying to find a games for myself and for the kids too :) To be honest, I'm absolutely amazed by this console. (even my steam deck waits ;ppp) On the TV, it still looks good. "cartoon" graphics does not get old, so a lot of games , especially party ones or for the kids look simply esthetic, pretty, while still there are some hidden gems / adventrue / jrpg for adults :) RetroBreak - could recommend 5-10 games for 5-6 year old kids ? That would be great :) The lesser text the better (they don't know English, but maybe they'll learn, at least that's how I started with my first micro computer ;p) So far I have something like: - Mario Kart ;p - New Super Mario Bros - Klonoa - Barbie And The Three Musketeers - Wii Sports
Great video! Have a few of these in my backlog (Pikmin, Epic Yarn, Excite Truck, Last Story, Metroid Prime Trilogy), so I'll have to get to those soon. I also have to confess that I like Link's Crossbow Training way more than I probably should, to the point that it's probably in my personal top 15. My dad was a big fan of light gun shooters so it sorta rubbed off on me.
Wait Excite Bots never came out in the UK?!! That's nuts. I knew they shorthanded that game for since reason but I didn't realize it was that bad! It's one of my top Wii games, and my favorite racing game. I world love to learn why they set that game up for failure commercially.
More people should talk about Wii sports resort. That game is phenomenal and despite not being dedicated to a single sport, some of them rank among the best games of all time in their respective sport like table tennis and golf.
Great video.... saved ebay searches added! I have been a long time viewer of your channel... and last year I started my own channel inspired by content creators like yourself. I think we live in the same part of the world also. Keep up the great content 👊🏻
I'd love Excitebots but currently have no way of playing it unfortunately. Wish Klonoa wasn't so expensive, would love a collection release on the Switch
Hey Excite Truck and Trackmania really seem action packed, have never really played racing games on the Wii before(except Mariokart but cmon). Have you played deBlob? Do you like it?
Great list! I would have a few of the ones you talked about but here are a few that I love that didn’t mention: Muramasa the Demonblade Monster Hunter Tri Kororinpa Punch Out Wii Sports Resort Mario Strikers Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles Dragon Quest Swords A Boy and his Blob Tatsunoko Vs Capcom SNK Arcade Classics Skyward Sword Donkey Kong Country Returns
Excitebots is one of favorite games period. It's loud, fast, stupid and crazy. Suits me perfectly. I don't think UK got it, but Mario Super Sluggers was baseball with light RPG elements. I enjoyed it way more than I expected.
@@RetroBreak I have been a gamer for around 30 years. Next to Punch Out or Golden Axe, it's one of my favorites. Nothing in the game makes a bit of sense. It's just GO! Unfortunately they don't have the SD card function. But it's like a silly version of FZero Gx. My only issue is they haven't made a sequel. And it's a bit on the easy side. But damn is it fun. New sub BTW.
As far as games that flew under the radar go, Anno/Dawn of Discovery is quite good. I also really like The Munchables. For a really deep cut, try Doctor Fizzwizzle's Animal Rescue - the name and cover both scream crappy shovelware, but it's actually a pretty fun arkanoid-style game. Not a high budget production to be sure, but a much better game than it has any right to be.
So I’m a huge Metroid fan from way back in the day. And I even think that other m is a good game, strictly because it has good open world 3D inside of a Metroid game. Yes it has huge flaws. The dialogue, no pickups, the list goes on. But if you play it for the gameplay alone it is actually fun.
Which Klonoa game do you have left to buy? I look forward to you doing a complete history of the series. I only got into it a couple of years ago and it quickly became one of my favourite game series
It's awesome! :D Here's the retrospective I did if you want to see the rest of the games - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AKZ5pSwXaz0.html
Fragile dreams: crap Klonoa: mediocre Another code R: mediocre Excite Truck: crap Trackmania: inferior to PC version Shattered Memories: mediocre Sin & Punishment: too short but decent Pikmin New Play Control: Amazing Kirby Epic Yarn: amazing Last Story: one of the best games on the wii period Sonic Colors: Garbage, just like every 3D sonic except generations No More Heroes: good RE4: amazing but on a million other systems that are arguably superior Prime Trilogy: Best nintendo game of the 2000s Xenoblade: Best nintendo game of the 2010s
