dumbass, it changed multiple time; the capital was sometime moscow, some other time st Petersburg but in the peak era, l*it was St Petersburg but Russia had two capitale st Petersburg was the capital, of the tsar, and hwere the royalty live and msocow is more related to the religion and orthodoxie St Petersburg is Imperial capital and Moscow orthodoxe capitale

Rome had a land area of 5 million km^2 at its peak in 117. The Ottoman Empire, at its height, was a bit bigger than Rome's empire at its height.

@Das Alperium 1337 Rome was a very important empire, but it wasn't bigger than the Ming DYnasty, mostly because Rome tried to stay close to the Mediterranian sea, while the chinese stayed close to rivers which go deep into mainland asia. I think Rome is on place 20 or something

Well if u consider the Mediterranean and the black sea part of Rome (bc practically they were) Rome would be at the 13th place in this list. (Rome+Mediterranean+black sea = 8 milion square kilometers)

the French empire was big indeed but it wasn't an empire as france was a Republic beetwen 1870-Today France was an Empire 1802-1815 and 1852-1870 France was also a kingdoms for most of its history, but it depend on what you mean by emperor if you consider a nation as an empire, onyl because they have a emperor, that's what i said but if you consider something as empire, just because they're big and strong well yes, France was an empire, even though being a Republic

Not sure if I'd call wartime occupation as a part of an empire.With the Japanese, much of their empire in WW2 was in wartime occupation. Also, why is the United States not on the list? The modern United States, and the United States at its largest size (before WW2) was larger than some empires on the list. Before WW2, the United States also controlled the Philippines, much more of the Pacific than it does today in addition to its modern territory, though the US might not have controlled all the islands it does today before WW2. In terms of size, the US before WW2 wasa probably comparable to the First Portuguese Empire.

Because you can call something an empire if they have more regions under their control but not like a support thing like they did in some countries I think this is the big reason why he didnt mention the USA

The France wasn'tan Empire in 1920, it was actually the 3rd Republic, the second French Empire ended in 1871, after the franco-Prussian war.
