Amazing drivers, FWD, low weight, NA power, lowish power, says it all. Of course, some big bangers made up a slice of the field, but it goes to prove that small, light etc when well driven is a force to be reckoned with.
I think that's the reason I find hill climb series so attractive. They wouldn't be in the same group on track, but that's a different story in hill climb races. I love watching these screaming little machines.
Last Porsche "DP" - "Design Plastic" - a small Swedish factory that in the 1980s made the most powerful Porsche-based cars in the world. You could also order 935 body kits. I remember that the owners name was Josef Zirkelbach and the cars were extremly expensive, many were exported to the USA. Today the company is completely forgotten.
God bless these men and women. And I'm a militant atheist. They do the imaginary higher power's work and they do it so well. My life is so much better for them. Thank you. 😁😁
That's the meanest looking Ford Puma I've ever seen, holy hell. 720 HP out of that inline 4. And the aero makes it look flattened like a Gillet Vertigo.
that ford puma looks sweet, and that lancia is always a fav car of mine, and that porsche 935 is pretty unique looking in itself. only car i wish i'd see more of are some amg's i just love the sound of there v-8's
@@HillClimbMonsters yeah, but a freaking audi s1 ? A 458 challenge? Those are also groundup racecar with a lot more horsepower and downforce + rwd or awd. The driver in the laguna is amazing
@@thomaslegoff4069 Yes, André Wiebe is a fantastic driver (hopefully he comes back soon..) but the Laguna BTCC is also a tremendous machine and arguably the Fastest Touring Car of the 90´s insane BTCC era.
Maybe it's the understanding of aero and/or money available but these cars look like Micro Machines vs current hill climbers. Still beautiful cars and amazing drivers
Well, 8 years have passed and the "Power & Wings" war in HillClimb Racing rages on rampantly ;) Still pretty much all machines in this video would still be competitive today, and some of them still compete.
3:47 Wow that sound of V8 N/A! And its soo smooth. 5:01 Never seen this Ferrari Zytec very loong time! Still awesome! 5:32 Yeah old school BTCC Laguna, love it! And it surprise me soo mcuh how far on list it go with only 310Hp.
Das ist ja ein Witz wie langsam die da auf der gekehrten Straße rauffahren ihr müsst mal die Fahrt von Walter Röhrl zeigen den Pine speak hoch auf Sand so eine Fahrt wird es nie wieder geben
