Let's be real now. Reboot lara has but 0.5% essence of the original Lara, up to the very end. Don't give me that "oh it's her origin story" BS. She never became the classic Lara by the end of Shadow. It's a totally new character that rode on the coattails of a franchise to get sales.
The one thing I would say is that tomb Raider existed looong before uncharted. I think it would be way more correct to say that uncharted is inspired by tomb Raider not the other way around.
Have you played the classic Tomb Raider lately? It forged a path, but Its mechanics do not hold up. Ask anyone who was there on grey box. They don’t want Lara like that. 😂
Smh at the absolutely ridiculous comments on this video. First of all, I'm glad to see more female lead characters (I'm a male, for the record) and I'm tired of only male leads. I love the fact GTA VI will have a female co-protagonist for the first time in GTA games. This is the first video in a long time where I am actually excited about most (not all) of the games being shown.
@MrCironn That's what I thought, but then you have 4 games on the list with male protagonists and the fifth with a male co-protagonist. So "like Tomb Rider" wasn't referring to a female lead character, was it?

To make it clear, I personally am not against women... there are many heroic examples in history... but everything should be in its place... we, men, love you, and we move mountains for you, we try to make the world a better place only for you women...

Notice that in all the western-led projects, ALL the protagonists are “strong independent wahmen”, and in the Asian-led projects like that Korean game, the protagonists are men. Indy looks good, but willing to bet the woman helps him in nearly all crucial situations.
I mean, did you skip the best Korean game of the bunch called Grass Genesis? Protagonist is a frail woman taking down several armed men with flips and pistols. And that's OK. It's a game.
I get that the Unreal Engine 5 produces epic visuals, but I hate how nowadays all unreal engine games feel the same. It's almost like playing the same game with a different set of graphics - and that's just boring.
I am a woman and I appreciate female representation in games however, where are the strong men? Where are the Kratos's, Joels, Jins and Arthur Morgan type characters. We need these in games. Come on! Stop wiping men out. Men are stronger and people need to stop pretending that they are not.
@@Kerazzy. The point is that they made a compilation of what THEY feel are “Tomb Raider-like” video games so seeing mostly female lead protagonists in this particular list shouldn’t be that surprising.😒
why play unknown people at starwars every time ? i will play han solo , darth vader or luke skywalker ! or boba fett and will fly slave 1 or millenium falcon... or a real cool new Avp game ! or a game from prometheus or a real good rambo game or a new open world startrek game mix of eliteforece and bridge crew.. best with tng crew first person.. .. why such games not comming ??
people talk about unreal 5, but unreal 5 dont have a lot real world parameters... wait for cryengine 6 with crysis 4 and that will change graphics for a long time . unbeateable as it is today, still the best engine. total realism, the rest good graphs but lack of real physics, ilumitation, particles interact, ragdoll, water distortion a light affect particles and size , gravity, solar illumination..and more. tressx and tessellation secret advanced. insane 16 texture mapping
I heard Samuel L. Jackson was offered the new voice of Lara Croft to make way for more equity and inclusion in the series. I haven't confirmed if it was final or not.
all these amazing graphics and still make ugly ass clouds. uncharted games from the 2000s look gorgeous and clear, those skies look disgustingly gross.
If that’s the case, then ALL forms of entertainment “looks the same”. Also, when gamers get something new, they whine and complain about it anyway.🤷♂️

Its the "engine" games developers use to create the game , all environments like trees , grass , stone , clouds, lighting , textures , movement etc are part of the "engine" ...
So I see a lot of negative comments about the fact that most of these games have strong female leads. Get over it. If your little male ego can't handle it then don't play the games. I have raised two daughters to be strong and independent and take nothing form nobody. I like games with strong female leads. Games like these give girls the opportunity to know that they can be strong and stand up for themselves. This is the 21st century not the 17th century. Deal with it.

It is possible forperfect dark sequel to be worthy of its title. PD on N64 showed the way of a perfect fps game. Im pretty sure, that they will ruin it.
3/10 for Unreal engine 5, your not getting those graphics in gameplay, in 10 years these graphics will be 8 bit to us. There is nothing new or innovative in any of these games, the same old things endlessly repackaged for decades. Hopefully GTA6 as rumored will incorporate real crypto currency exchanges, transactions, deposits & withdrawals linking to our actual bank accounts built into the game and revolutionize gaming forever. With a budget of $2 Billion dollars in funding for this project and it currently being the most expensive game in human history to develop, I'd sure like to hope so but I doubt it as wishful thinking. When things are too good to be true they always are.
