I never really got into LoD so much. I did play about ½ year straigth from the release but after that went back to Classic and only made some hops back to LoD after that. Currently I'm playing offline pre-lod classic which is imo the best version of the game :) more simplistic less over powered items etc. But anyways LoD especially before 1.10 was pretty good also.

POD, slash, or official?

@@swaplogic pluggy. I used to play official but shifted to pluggy this year. I anyway have little time to play and develop characters. At the end of seasons they become useless in bnet. Plus, unlimited inventory and item sharing. Dreams come true!

besides an increase in horrible games on your phone and mobile games on consoles for some reason

I wouldn't say so with 2018-2020 games, their lighting got way better

Law of diminishing returns + Having a huge variation of technology specs, consoles, and pcs making optimization harder = slow graphical increases. Hopefully this will change with the new generation consoles as they are practically just computers so optimization should be easier + they're more powerful so games can go further, as most of the triple A high quality graphics games have to come out on console too which holds the graphics back

@@BiloGadget Because china. Mobile gaming is HUGE in china and earns a fuck ton of money for companies. Just look how much PUBG makes from their mobile version alone.

Yeah because how would you get graphics look better than like in real life? Just look at modern games, sometimes they look like movies! Not much to be improved here... but say hello to technologies like raytracing...

Your so right the magic is missing now, games feel like plastic cut and paste formulas with tacky gimmicks tagged on. There was nothing like reading about a game in PC Gamer, reading every article 5000 times watching the epic screen shots trying to picture what the game will feel like to play. Now we have Minecraft and Fortnite, kind says everything lol

Halo especially. I feel like I will never find an FPS community like that ever again. Communities in online gaming were generally good back then. Playing with randos didn't even bother me, because back then were mostly just cool. I haven't really played competitive FPS in over 5 years, and have no desire to. New shooters are trash anyway. Campaigns are bland, or non-existent. they're full of micro-transactions, many are p2w, and don't get me started on lootboxes. Then again, most AAA developers are taking this route. Even Rockstar, though at least GTA Online has a shit ton of content and is very enjoyable. Then, Bethesda, has garbage like FO76 and ESO, where they sell the same thing that started this snowball effect... $3 horse armor.

Starcraft was released in early 98, it's a game of 90's era, and its prime time was in 98-2001. The majority of players left with the release of Diablo 2, and then the release of Warcraft 3 in 2002 made it look shallow everywhere except South Korea. Sure, it's a legendary game, but it was never as big as D2 or WC3, and again it's 90's game.

What did you use Hamachi? I used to play RA2 online.. I remember being OWNED in a couple of minutes playing against a Russian (Probably a little girl too)! OOhh the shame! Don't let me start on Generals too! (they somehow teleport to your base through the map corners)

@@silverfoenix lol. yeah hamachi, but mostly Lan parties with friends, in that time period internet were I lived was very expensive and it was only me and one other friend that had internet between our group of 4, so usually we would have a lan party's every 2 weeks depending on the mood. And we would play against hard bots or free for all...Each lan party would be different,so we would play only one game in a lan party from quake 3 to medal of honor,then starcraft,warcraft,tiberuim sun,RA2,Generals, etc...and list grows as the games released. Fun times...Lan parties was so much fun and social but now nobody does this anymore or at least were i come from...LoL online I always get Zerg rushed even if its not in starcraft LOL so I know the feeling hahaha, But the teleporting thing, havent seen that yet...Hackers maybe? Or is it maybe that GLA sneak attack abilitys?

My Internet was expensive too ~32kb/s download speed! as for Generals it was a bug exploit were you keep clicking off-bounds of the map (at least how I remember being told) suddenly the unit will cross over to the other side (Usually the unprepared enemy base)

@@silverfoenix lol...really...damn i am a few years late on that exploit...lol should orginize a lan party and try it hahaha...its too bad generals had a few bugs, there was this slowdown bug that even occurs today if i am not mistaken makes the game go to a snails speed..

Baldur's Gate II absolutely needs to be on that list. In my opinion it needs to be on first place of best all time PC games. Still play and love it.
