Top 15 Rides at Hansa Park 

While Karnan was definitely my favorite of the park, Novgorod took me completely by surprise! It's such an underdiscussed ride. I also love the totally wacky exit that keeps the experience going even after the ride ended.

I had a HUGE smile on my face hearing of this wonderful park! 40 flips! Canobie loves these rides! I'd heard of that Funtime frisbee as a MOST unique ride + credit. The bumpers look great and fun too. As I said before "strange, weird, bizarre" are breathes of fresh air in themed parks. I also love wax museums & Ripley's.

I just got to visit this park for the first time, this past weekend. What a gem of a park with two absolutely amazing Gerstlauers! Also got to ride my first ever Schwarzkopf and it was a really good one, it's crazy how much better this is compared to something like Big Loop at Heide Park (while being older as well). Overall, fantastic place and great rides!

One of the most thrilling parks to go to. 2 absolutely crazy insane Gerstlauers, a Schwarzdof Looper and an absolutely massive drop tower. Kärnan alone is the reason to come here but the park has even more reasons with everything else.

The only time I ever rode coasters on the mainland of Europe was in 1983 at Vienna Prater and also the mountain coaster Meran 2000 in 2009. But Karnan looks to be the world's best Gerstlauer coaster, and possibly the top 20-50 coasters in the world. I can't wait to see your review of it; I'm guessing you'll give it a 9 out of 10. My 2nd guess is that you'll give it 9.5 out of 10 and my third dis 8.5 out of ten. In any case: thanks for posting!

Good rides. I like it.

Karnan, Novgorod, and Highlander are a truly spectacular top 3. Nessie, Royal Scotsman, and Midgard are all fun supporting coasters as well. Crazy Mine was pretty awful however, felt like one of TPR’s Chinese knockoff POVs with how painful it was. Those Maurer cars need better padding for sure

Those were some interesting placements. Glad to see Space Race so high tho, best bumper cars out there for sure. Also, even this season, the few rattly bits on Kärnan were still faaaaaar away from being annoying.

Karnan's castle in real life is amazing, just as this ride is. I wish they would add a turret tower for a future ride to complete it, but with the drop tower and observatory, it's probably not doable, but this is a sweet ride. I would love to see more US rides built with "the element" - especially Cedar Point who lacks that "Dark Ride Surprise/element"......although, I always mark out after the train noise on Maverick 😉

Fun fact: Flucht von Novgorod actually has now the most intense launch in the world (sadly 99% of ppl don't want to accept that and think it's MaxxForce/ Stealth) but the launch goes with an acceleration of 28m/s² for example dododompa was going with 32m/s²

I recently went to hansapark for the first time. Der Schwur des Kärnan is definitly the best attraction in the park but in my opinion the "preshow" kills the pacing of the ride. i dont wanna explain to much to not spoil anybody but its a small down point for me. aswell as the fact that i needed a break after like 5 or 6 rides(Kärnan was a station wait the whole day). my number 2 is highlanger cause the view is awesome and the height is terrifying. tilt mode is awesome and super tilitmode is even better. my number 3 is nessie cause i could leave about 10 centimeters between the lapbar and my body which felt like no restrain at all even with the ejector airtime on the second drop. fluch von novgorod has to flaws to me. first one is the restrains. it was my first coaster with over the shoulder restrains. i had not that issue with the over the shoulder affect itselve but the seats were so close to another that i permanently touched the person next to me, if i wanted to pull my hands above my head or anything. the second thing is that the vertical lifthill kills the pacing of the ride for me. and for last i wanna mention that i prefered Die Schlange von Midgard over the Royal Scotasman. Sorry for that WoT

I only got to ride Kärnan ones in 2022 and I felt the shuffle but it wasn't very gamechanging for me.

I'm still torn.... kärnan and novgorod are pretty close for me. Great drop vs. great launch! For shure two of the best coasters in Germany.

Schwur des Kärnan at Hansa Park, and how many other roller coasters in the world did you find to have a shake, a rattle, a shimmy, a jackhammer, a vibration, or a shuffle, not to be among the worst rides you've ridden, but enough to cause a headache?

***********************SPOILER FOR KARNAN DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WANT A BIG SPOILER************************** Mike, I could swear that Karnan has a backwards freefall on the lift itself. Am I nuts here? I could swear that's what happened when I rode it the one time (queue was too long for anything else, only had half a day there only some years back). Maybe I am confusing it with another coaster.. Can you verify if my memory is a sieve or correct lol? I liked it a lot in any case and it's definitely the best ride at the park.

Sad news. They had to put the Holsteinturm out of comission for good and it will be dismantelt for something new to take it's place.
