Within that particular Hermes line, the Eau de Citron Noir is a real standout. A smoky, yet fresh, salty lime. Might not sound like it would work but it does. A genuinely unique smell, and it has a surprisingly long life on skin(at least 8hrs on mine, wearing outdoors in the heat).
I love the Bastide citrus fragrances in the summer and 1958 is a wonderful aromatic citrus freshie with notes of bergamot, mandarin orange, petitgrain , lavender, rosemary, clary sage, French orange flower, and musk. I love that Acqua Colonia Blood Orange & Basil bottle, gorgeous! I don't love the heat of the summer but I do love wearing these kind of fragrances during that time of the year 🍊🌿🍋
Sebastian, it is so surprising and delightful that you have mentioned the Carthusia brand! I visited one of their stores in Anacapri in 1991 while traveling with family in Italy. I just went back to view your interview with them (Carthusia) in 2018. Wonderful memories! Thank you for your excellent work!
Orange Vert is the seminal Citrus Aromatic. I discovered it in Tahiti, in a rain shower in the eighties. When it is that hot out and wet, nothing is a comforting or soothing. If there are tiare flowers or frangipani in the air the experience is magic.
My absolute favorite from this list are Eau Sauvage and YOU OR SOMEONE LIKE YOU it has a calming effect on me, when I want to relax this is my go to fragrance, amazing mint fragrance! Thanks for the list Sebastian!!!
I thought I was the only person with Carthusia fragrances. Mediterraneo (Carthusia)and Chypre azural (les Indemodables)are some of my favorite citrus aromatics
I bought You Or Someone Like You based on your review. I love it very much. I also tried O'Vert but didn't get the performance I wanted from it- not Gallagher's fault but a common problem for me. I really want to try more like these so I appreciate your insights. I am a lime lover 🌿🍋🍊
Torino21 is only okay for me, wouldn't make in my Xerjoff top25 same as yours 😜 Why? There is a lot of jasmine/white flowers in the drydown, which increases the longevity, but on the other hand pushes down the uplifting lemony-minty part too much. This heavy use of white flowers also reminds me a bit of detergents 🤷♂️
@@ThePerfumeGuy I wish Houbigant would make more men's fragrances. Is it me or do they seem to be on the paltry side when it comes to frequency of new releases?
It is interesting I don’t see Chanel Edinburgh futures in these summer fragrances videos. Would love to hear your opinion as I think is such a nice scent.
They gave me a free 15 mL sample of Torino 21 and while I appreciated the quality I did not care for it and found it too herbal. Fragrance du Bois Oud Vert Intense is much more elegant IMHO for those seeking a green citrus scent. And for mint lovers Kilian Live the Way You Taste seems more fresh and exciting. I have 14 Xerjoffs but won’t be buying Torino 21.
