I watched a video a few days ago about the term "souls-like" and the over usage of the term throughout gaming nowadays. Watching this video made me chuckle at how often I heard those words used. I'm not saying that it's not true that the games aren't "souls- like" but it does seem that it's being thrown about a lot more than I can ever remember. I mean it seems like games have to put into boxes so much, Loopmancer (which looks pretty dope btw) is called a "Metroid-vania" game (that one is a term I've just recently come across). Are these selling points or just to give people an idea of what the game is/might be? When I first saw the trailer for Project FT (which seems like forvever ago) it definitely reminded me of Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden. Morbid Metal does as well, but they also remind me Nier: Automata...I never hear anything about a "Devil-Gaiden-Nier like" game. Maybe I being too facetious and I'm completely wrong, can anyone seriously help me out here?

delaying games is the norm now. when something is releasing in said year, expect it will be release the next year.

These types of games have been severely lacking, all I see on steam is isometrics and survival games....really getting tired of devs just going with the trend of things instead of creating something else. Of course we got Elden Ring which is the closest thing to a hack n slash, obviously it's not but it's a single player game that's built around combat and skills.

All Chinese games have two big problems that they don't have English dubbing and the player doesn't enjoy this experience. For example, imagine playing Devil May Cry or nier for the first time with Japanese audio? Will this experience be enjoyable for you? And the second problem is their incredibly weak story that never makes you to engage with the game i played 2 chinese games blood spell Sword and Fairy 7 and both of them have these 2 problems

"Soulstice" is one of my most anticipated games this year; Didn't know that Illusion Lands is getting a demo, will be keeping my eye out for that. I've played the old demo for "Gori" and that game is weird and trippy in allt he right ways.

Most of these hack slashes look generic with infinite combos, they are beautiful, but I don't see much fun, they look like some old Japanese hack-slashes that I saw beautiful, but without history, just hitting the same enemies all the time, want to sell a good hack-slash has a good story behind it.
