The Simple Balance has wonderful presentation. Love that look. Oh Yes! Banchou Tactics: Just perfect the game-play then write and draw the manga into the game and voila! You have something special... The same could said of Demonschool. I can see a break-out in this direction coming in the future. Xenonauts 2 is definitely going to be a real tactical head-scratcher! Wandering Sword is on my "Most Promising 2023 Indie Games List" alongside such illuminaries as "Pocket Bravery", Wind Riders and some others I forgotten the name of right now ! Very exciting looking title!
1:50 - Rebelstar is one of several precursors to X-Com developed by the man himself. Julian Gollop. Nice to see it's still inspiring people to this day!
ayo demonschool giving that devil survivor vibes (then again, it feels like devil survivor and smt are the same franchise but a bit different, mainly in the characters 👀
Awesome stuff! I've been obsessed with Warriors of the Nile 2 lately, so thanks for your recommendation on that series, Clemmy. Any idea which of these upcoming titles will be most similar for fans of that series?
Oh no, the auto skipp ....well I wante to say I have a bunch of these games on the list at least five, Metal Slugh, Dream tactic (the enemies are pillows, which probably explains the look), uhhhm Demonschool ...., Wandering swords and I'm forgetting one.
One thing that i hated in old school x-com was when you move that first unit off the ship and instantly the aliens would hit you with an explosive weapon and kill half your soldiers on tje first move.
Nice video bro! All ur indications are precise and precious! Btw, do u know/recommend tactics rpgs with world exploration, like Shining force? All i found out are ones with missions or too damn linear =\
Two other picks I've enjoyed a lot from Steam Next Fest would be Shardpunk Verminfall and Dungeon Drafters, both were really good. Also Howl, which is more puzzle than pure tactics, but it was very good.
Hey i tired the prologue once, I would be interessted to hear if you think Johnny Lionface has some quality or not. I got no answer on my question how big the dev group is. The style is....unique I guess, but I had hopes for the humor.
In my house it was _Master of Monsters, Shining Force, Dark Wizard,_ and even _Vandal Hearts_ that got us going in this genre all before _Final Fantasy Tactics._
thanks for the video, I'm working 18-7 so i have no time to keep updated, i can always count on you for that, love banchou tactics, also kriegsfront tactics seem heavily inspired by Front Mission Series
