Surprised Charlie Chaplin wasn't mentioned. Banned from the United States for a bit as part of the Red Scare, due to his outspoken leftist political beliefs. He was able to go back eventually, but what an insult given his contributions to American cinema.

Yes. George's ban ended in 2014; him and Culture Club are still touring across the US (I have seen them twice, and they put on a fantastic show), and have even done a couple residencies in Vegas over the past year.

Makes sense. If you have a criminal record for violence, that's usually no no. Similar with Canada. I remember when he was in papers for assaulting that male escort. A few people came forward and had stories to say about him. One was actually an old story from an old teacher of his. It was from when he first became famous and the story came to light again. Supposedly the teacher couldn't of made it any clearer how evil the guy is, back when he knew him as a student. The teacher even said something like, that he doesn't even care that he gets sued for slander, due to wanting people to know what kind of person he really is. Supposedly he was into humiliating people and having a very nasty side. I can believe it, considering he did something similar to that escort

But religion poisons the minds of everyone nowadays with stupid 'dress-codes' and 'behaviour-code'. Belief has nothing to do with appearances. It's only spiritual. You can be dressed however you like and you can still be a good person. Or you can dress as a priest/nun and still be a bad person.
