Don't insult the bands that made Rock and Roll history. I'm proud to be a fan of great classic rock!

Almost all bands on this list are classic rock acts who were in their prime in the 70s and 80s. How can you shit on bands who are still talked about and looked upon 40 to 50 years later? Try making a list of todays bands 30 years from now... That should be hilariously boring

How could the Beatles age embarrassingly when none of them had celebrated a 30th birthday when they broke up? They were never irrelevant in their day and their music still inspires to this day.

This list is trash! The Beatles (greatest band of all time) number 1?!? The Rolling Stones, AC/DC and Queen? All classics with a music catalog that has aged flawlessly. These are the bands who everyone still looks up to and are still relevant all these years later. Nothing embarrassing here

This list is laughably bad. How many times can you use the word derivative? Led Zeppelin broke up.40+ years ago. This was supposed to be a list of groups that aged poorly, but the Beatles broke up 54 years ago. How exactly did they.age badly as a group when they weren't together?

90% agree... as a person who saw the Stones live in the '60's as well as around a decade ago, I can say that they are better now than EVER before.

Nearly all famous artists in popular music have been accused of plagiarism whether officially or unofficially: The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Elton John, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Nirvana, James Brown, Mariah Carey, Guns N' Roses, Radiohead, Oasis, Paul Simon, Prince, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Kiss, Eminem, Rod Stewart, Bruce Springsteen, etc... Even film scorers like John Williams, Hans Zimmer, & James Horner aren't safe from such accusations. The funny thing is movie directors borrow from each other all the time yet most don't make a big deal out of it. The likes of George Lucas & Quentin Tarantino even get praised for doing so.

The Rolling Stones recent Hackney Diamonds album is actually quite good.

The Beatles just grew up. They became individuals. There is nothing embarrassing about any of them whatsoever.

I disagree, many of these bands are still awesome. AC/DC being my number one. I would like to see what you're doing when you're in your 70's. Also, that was not Randy Meisner, it was Glenn Frey. I couldn't listen to the rest because you don't know what you are talking about. Do your research.

This list has a ton of inaccuracies... first of all, Glen Matlock is not dead - he is alive and well. Secondly, the segment on The Kinks has dates completely wrong. Soap Opera was released in 1975 - not 1973. Yes, everyone ages - including classic rock bands - some age better than others. Who cares? It's part of life's journey. All these bands have influenced generations of kids and are still relevant today. Vintage TV is going to age soon as well - if they survive long enough. These people apparently have not done their homework and research.

You know I saw John Lee Hooker when he was 82. He was great. I saw Pine Top Perkins ( one of Muddy Waters piano player , the other was Otis Spann) he was great at 82 I saw Honey Boy Edwards (he was on the road with Robert Johnson in 1936 ) he was 92 and you could hear the delta coming through. Age is insignificant until you can’t function.

The 80s was a rough time for most these artists. Especially the 60s/70s bands 😢

Nearly every band listed here is better than the most popular now,. The Stones in 50 years will still be relevant..

There is no " evolving music industry"...just a nothing burger!.!...GREAT IS GREAT. CLASSIC ROCKERS WERE MY GENERATION. Nothing but jealousy and envy from generations with nothing to offer. Even my young students still want to play guitar riffs like smoke on the water and stairway to heaven. The boomers arent all dead and envied for our music.

Glen Matlock who never should have been kicked out of the Sex Pistols is a live and well and looks great . He has been kept busy with many groups looking for his service . Most recently Blondie at Glastonbury 2023

Kiss was a light hearted fun group that wasn’t meant to be taken seriously. You just listened and had fun.

Most bands age poorly. R.E.M., a legendary band, failed to make a good record after 1991, but they still deserve more praise than bands named after insects.

You do realize that 3 of the 4 Monkees have passed, right? AC/DC, the Kinks, the Who, the Rolling Stones, Queen, the Beatles, the Eagles, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin are all classic bands that do not deserve the nastiness heaped upon them here. You do know that Freddy Mercury, the Youngs of AC/DC, John Lennon & George Harrison of the Beatles are also gone, correct? It's beyond petty to criticize the dead for the sake of $$$ & likes. Makes you a bit hypocritical yourself.

There Kinks story was ridiculous! Soap Opera was an amazing album I saw them on that tour AMAZING 👍

They said Led Zeppelin alienated their fans when they experimented with their shit & now those songs are classic rock staples. Queen and The Beatles are just as popular as current artists on Spotify, to call that aging badly is, out of touch, derisive, divisive... How can Led Zeppelin age badly, when the band ended in 1980. It not worth the effort to go through all of the inaccuracies. This is like an experiment of insulting popular bands to get a reaction.

When it came to Oasis it seems their fights are more interesting than their music.

Guys, the topic of the video is not about these bands iconic catalogues or their career's highwater mark, but about their AGING and DECLINE. Yes, ACDC was probably a great concert....in 1975. Would they be riveting to see NOW? Are they writing more music NOW? Have they YET to hit their apex? No, it's passed, no matter how much you love them. And this is the point. -just a reminder

Glen Matlock is touring and recording with Blondie. Hopefully he's also cowriting tracks. No original members of The Sex Pistols have died. (Sid Vicious replaced Glen Matlock in the 70s and was replaced by Matlock after his death).

I agree the Stones are way over the hill, and after Brian Jones left their output i disappointing. but the Beatles, uninspired. Give me a break. They changed popular music forever.

A lot of these bands stayed too long, but that's likely because there are almost NO good new rock bands to take up the mantle.

Some of this list I found shocking I mean Queen aging badly they are still appealing today though I’ll admit Hot Space was drawing way too much from another one bites the dust venturing into the pop funk scene not fitting of their legacy fortunately they redeemed themselves in later releases now the Beatles aging badly I don’t think so their music is still appreciated today as well as some of the other inclusions on this list. One of the more relevant bands it's been around since 1968 and still makes great album today is Uriah Heep better than most of those old bands

Much ado about nothing, especially when it comes to the older and classic rock bands. Who cares what the critics say? They are not the general public and what we like or love.

Rolling Stones brought out a single called Angry last year. While it might have got some technology assistance on the voices , the song was fucking terrific . Great video too 😚😜 They did a song around 2013 called Doom and Gloom , pretty decent too

This is hillariously bad. 'Not relevant' WTF does that mean? I am 60, my Dad is 86, my son is 14 and we all listen to and enjoy the music most of these bands made. Criticism for political and enviromental issues? When did that become a bad thing? What about working class hero. Bob Dylan and, well, most of his wonderful songs had something to say about all issues. This is utter nonsense. I just wasted 36.37 mins of my life. Brilliant bands, still being listened to and still inspiring people today.

This is stupid, the criticism of bands for growing old is shameful from people who have never had to go through the process of writing songs, recording the songs, countless practices sessions before playing an hour long concert under hot lights then back onto a tour bus and doing the same again night after night with alcohol, parties its an hard life and the reason many bands cannot keep going. AC/DCs highway to hell was written on the road in the middle of over 120 concerts night after night sometimes 2 gigs in one day. It ruined their family life and social lives and yes they argued being together on a stinking tour bus mile after mile, it may look a great life style but burnout of band members is so common with record labels constantly pushing the bands. Having a go at the Rolling Stones they had hit after hit before you momma and poppa were still kids they just kept going because what else are they going to do? once you stop then you age a lot faster, you cannot even start to imagine the lives they have lived, music critics are real peices of crap who make career's by trying to destroy other peoples lives.

The moral of the story? Don't have a musical identity. It'll only lead to accusations of being "fixated".

I’m sick of seeing all these lists of bands, models, actors, etc who age “poorly”. We ALL age. The fact that they’re in the public eye makes it worse. Do we expect people to look and perform perfectly for all eternity? LIFE happens to everyone. And the more successful they are, the greater their “fall from grace”. I think being famous would be absolute torture. Clicking OFF.

in the 1990s i heard Bono state “ when we cease to be relevant we’ll call it a day “ Where many of these performers ceased to be musically relevant or sound original or simply be cool decades ago , they’re all still huge machines which generate a massive amount of business & employment plus still being artists & Entertainers enjoyed by millions but i guess their negotiation of integrity is the trick to retain respect if not cool relevance .

The bottom line is!!!! As long as these bands and artists can still pack out stadiums or big opera theaters when they go on tour and perform live and still entertain and can still make money and earn a living doing what they love to do!!!!! Then the critics can screw themselves!!!!😂😂😂😂😂 P.S. You can't keep everyone happy!!!!

I think artists lose touch with audiences because of delusion from monetary success, not from age. They are unable to connect with the "every man" because they are so far removed from everyday "normal" challenges, lifestyles, and tastes that they have to TRY. Fans can hear that. No one wants to hear you try. It's insincere, foney, placating, and comes across as mocking, pandering, and desperate. Wisdom comes from age, and that's an interesting perspective if done correctly. Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, and Nick Cave (to name a few) remain relevant in their elder years because they still have perspective and don't sound like they're trying. It's honest. Comfort kills artistry, not age. So that argument is off base. The starving artist will remain relevant despite of age. No artist I can think of grew up wealthy and started out with some grand statement. If you take for granted where you came from and forgot your struggles along the way, you don't have much more to say. It becomes repetitive, and desperate. I will say though, that with age the "fire" burns lower and the excitement and energy are diminished. Sincerity and honesty will always attract audiences. The trick is keeping that flame burning.

This whole video is embarrassing and uses ancient criticism that hasn't aged well at all. In Aerosmith's case, no mention of the triumphant PUMP.

Where's The Velvet Underground? They started out revolutionising Rock music, unlike any band before them. Lou Reed's streetwise and nihilistic lyrics paired with John Cale's talent in creating menacing and sinister soundscapes, backing up Reed's songs, set the tone for the entire Punk/Alternative universe. After Cale's dismissal after their second release White Light/White Heat, due to Reed's enormous ego, their sound and also the subject matter of their lyrics had watered down considerably, they had lost their cutting edge. The following albums were aimed at a mainstream audience, but due to lack of commercial success, the band slowly lost all of it's original members, as Reed & Co. lost interest in the band. The last lp Squeeze released in 1973 contained none of the orginal band members, so Doug Yule, Cale's replacement disbanded the embarassing end of the Velvets.

Glen Matlocks drug related death must've come as a shock to him & his family considering he's still alive! 😅

Obviously made to upset the aging Beatles fan base that rather read universal praise. In fairness, all classic rock has been dying out for multiple decades. While true, The Beatles new artificial intelligence John Lennon demo track, "Now And Then" was painfully embarrassing, it is because Paul McCartney refuses to leave The Beatles legacy alone, and desires to rewrite history because John Lennon is dead, and cannot object. The Rolling Stones at least records brand new albums and tours at a high level. The Kinks definitely do not belong on this list, but officially have not put out anything new in years.

Look this is directly to the writers and those that look through and run down the facts. Now let's get on with this, none of these bands are angels, it rock and roll, punk, and what ever else you want to try and place them in. I won't deny that fact. Price you have to pay for being good at something in this world. Fact is I keep hearing selling out, music is art, and there for if around long enough you do something new just so you can make yourself happy, these people make music for themselves, fans second. So if you think it should be the other way around you don't love music you simply love a certain kind of music, artists don't think that way, they may not purposely set out to go down an odd or different path, but will chase it down if it is enjoyable to them, with possible exceptions to do with the band KISS. They made their bed as far as merchandise goes. They have the right to chase different music sound if they so choose to. Try loving music and stop treating them like they can't do nothing wrong, it's as bad as treating folks like they do everything wrong but you don't even know them. Control yourself and stop trying to control everyone else.
